Favorite band. So many people associate Mr Brightside when they hear The Killers but they have so many bangers. Smile Like You Mean It is another underrated track from the same album.
Amazing show. Watching that concert took me from appreciating one of thier albums(hot fuss) to appreciating the full breadth of thier catalog. Check out the very intimate and amazing Pressure Machine album.
I LOOOVE the Killers. They mean so much to me listening to them in Hawaii while stationed there as a member of the Army driving in my Camaro. So many great memories. Dustland Fairytale and When we were young are songs you should react to as well! Great video btw.
“Music is a moral law. It gives a soul to the Universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, a charm to sadness, gaiety and life to everything. It is the essence of order, and leads to all that is good and just and beautiful.” Plato, philosopher for the ages and a fan I'm sure of this song on another ethereal level. Ray, first rate review of the mesmerizing sounds echoing from the Vegas desert. Next time though perhaps wear some chic Oakley sunglasses as your radiant jaguar cat eyes distract somewhat from the reverberating power of the song lines. First world challenge I understand, lol. Keep on rocking beautiful, and look forward to your next review. New US subscriber
My favourite Killers track has always been Spaceman, and even if you know it it's definitely worth checking out for the truly AMAZING video. It's an absolute RIOT.
One of the first bands I ever listened to. My mom is still obsessed with them and the first CD I ever got was Hot Fuss. One of my favorite albums of all time, not a single song to be skipped on there.
Ben Stein ended his documentary "Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed" with this song. If you haven't seen it, it's much better than Michael Moore's propaganda he calls a documentary.
OK, I’ve been waiting for you to return to some live U2 since your reaction to With or Without You and here’s a full circle moment to maybe get you back to it. The Killers and U2 are good friends and U2 is one of Brandon Flowers’ idols. The Killers opened for U2 on a portion of the Elevation Tour in 2001, where that WOWY video came from. Brandon has said dozens of times in interviews that All These Things I’ve Done was his attempt to write something like Where the Streets Have No Name. So I’m throwing All I Want is You/Where the Streets Have No Name from Slane Castle in 2001 as something you have to do a reaction to. Live your channel
This is my favorite song by them. Listened to it off and on throughout my life since high school lol. Feel like the last few verses are about Jesus about to die on the cross fence the line “last call for sin” line. (Which my whole life I thought they were saying something completely different lol)
An interesting and strange use of boomerangs by the females. I was playing this song when my father last visited me in 2012 (he sadly passes away in 2014). He loved music but he was strictly trad jazz, country and western and a little bit of classical, with an absolute hatred for rock n roll, aside from a few of the early Beatles songs. He was 87 at the time and wasn't likely to change his point of view, yet when "I've got soul but I'm not a soldier" came up, he paused, listened and I could see that he really understood (he had been in the RAF during WWII).
