The IE900 is audiophile de-luxe! I have worked in pro audio for 20 years and I have never heard anything like it before or better. The ie600 must be very good if you prefer it over the IE900.
The 900 is far superior with its perfect low/mid bass reproduction. It's also more detailed, precise and textured through the whole frequency spectrum than the 600. If you come from pro audio, like me, the 900 is surely the better iem.
I like v shaped sounds so the IE900 is up there with the very best like Sony IER Z1R, also one of my favorite. These two have incredible energy, top class bass and treble. But I can see why some people might prefer the IE600, which is also in my collection, and it's a great all rounder.
Definitely considering these due to their tiny size. I have average size ears but I just like the idea of a very small IEM rather than the vast amount of larger ones on the market.
Same channel another reviews says it’s too siblent so much so he cannot listen to it and in this review by same channel another says it’s perfect no siblence … perfect way to confuse people 😂
It's really true, I agree with most of what DMS said here. I went to this big 5-floor department store for just earphones/headphones in Akihabara today, and stumbled upon Crinacle himself there (!!) lol...what a coincidence. Anyhow, I thought for sure I'm gonna get the Moondrop Blessing 2, but after listening to Moondrop S8, Variations, Thieaudio Monarch Mk. 2, and the IE600,.. I gotta say the IE600 sounded the most recognizably distinct, luxurious, smooth, non-fatiguing, while at the same time very resolving sounding. I just kept going back to IE600 in the store. Out of the gears I tried today, the only ones capable of sounding better than the IE600 there were the Susvara and the Stax SR-X9000--even the Senn HD800S were not free of harshness.
Remember to keep it for air dry by removing tips and place it on desk. Putting it straight back to case can damage IE series. Thats my diagnosis and i can see water droplets inside the tips and the top end of the iem, so water can go inside the iem if not left air-dry
Lots of QC related one star reviews on Amazon, most complain of intermittent sound on left ear phone leading to ultimate failure. And response to customer complaints by Sennheiser said to be underwhelming. Pity because all these same complainants absolutely raved about sound quality. According to one reviewer, the same QC issue plagued both the IE 300 and the IE 900. Was getting ready to pull the trigger on these but looks like reholstering the credit card will be the smart thing to do 😢.

@@rem792 yeah i had asked resolve recently what he thought about that UTWS5 and he stopped me because mainly the output impedance could mess with some IEMs, and they don't have LDAC just yet. the latter doesn't bother me as much as i think it has AptX HD at least? but it could be a dealbreaker to have nonnegligible amplifier Zout when we're talking about IEMs here
@@metal571 still, i absolutely love these adapters and many others do to. I use my u18t with the utws3 and its just fantastic. The best tws experience i've ever had.
Excited about this IEM. Only thing i wish for is that Sennheiser would make better quality cables and eartips like those that come with Sony IER M7 and M9.
Actually best cables are when it feels like there is no cable. These come with good cables but it has microphonics, thats the only issue or tripowin solistice , perles cables are perfect and is made for sennheiser iem mmcx
I wish was reviewers that could avalidate iem by volume. When when we encrease the volume the upper mids and treble can go up by 6 dB and become to Bright. And of course , then we have ear canal that can make the same effect. But would be nice to have a review like. Ie600. 40 to 50 dB. Details. 5 stars.bass, 5 stars,treble 5 stars.image 5 stars. 80 to 90 dB. Treble. 2 stars.bass 4 stars, Details 3. Image 4.etc. so people know more in what to get. In this days one says. Its good. Other says. Its bad. And nobody explains why the reason.
"This is one of the rare cases where the iem did benefit from a balanced connection" .. what?! I don't know where to even begin addressing this amazingly weird statement, especially given the DMSs knowledgeable reputation.
I suspect 99% people invest in balanced headphone cables not because there is any technical benefit for their use case but because of marketing/FOMO/buzzwords

I love the idea of these and I know it would be great pair to have... for a short while... I was burned by IE300 which just randomly stopped working after a couple of months and I haven't heard anything back from Sennheiser for multiple weeks even if I'm still under warranty. Been using them only at my desk, no drops or strain on these units. Amazon reviews seem to indicate that the durability of IE600 is no better :(
got a chance to demo the IE600 in store yesterday, boyyy is it a bass canon, reminds me of sony headphones like the Z7 and 7506. If you're coming from Sennheiser open backs then it's gonna be a shock to the system. I feel like cheaper IEMs like the ER2XR and blessing 2/3 does bass and even midrange better than Sennheiser. Their IE series lacks ear gain for some reason unlike their headphones. Anywho that's my impression, hopefully senneheiser can improve on this since I find their in-ear design to be super comfortable!
The Fiio UTWS5's mmcx probably will not fit the wierd mmcx of the Sennheiser iems, cause the ie300 & ie900 are a little wierd with an embedded deep mmcx input.
@@heliopijpe I don't think they're particularly V shaped in any negetive sense, but it will depend on individual tastes, music listened to, ear tips and fit. Usually, I use large size ear tips. But I found with the IE600s that smaller tips, the ones included by Sennheiser, gave me the most detail and coherent enjoyment, including with classical and the likes of Louis Armstrong who can sound sybilanant with some IEMs. I tried some Spinfit CP100s and the base stood out more but less detail and more of a V sound. Tips can make such a difference!t The IE600 are a greater contrast to the 7hz Timeless🙂 (I'm using hires lossless and uncompressed audio, from an A&K DAP using the 4.4mm tip. Also, using the LG V60 with its ESS Sabre quad dac which does surprisingly well against quite a few DAPs). The one issue I do have with the IE600s is that if I try and listen to music with them whilst working I get drawn much more than with other IEMs and headphones that I have. For that sort of general background music, the 7hz Timeless work better for me.
@@heliopijpe I recently tried the ie600 with some SpinFit CP100 Plus eartips and the IE600 definitely sound a bit more relaxing in the treble with those (I went from using the Sennheiser small tips to Spinfit large, the size of tip also adds nicely to the bass). Highly recommend those tips! (for my ears anyway). It's great being able to flick the tips for different listening experiences.

@DMS You say that DAC selection mattered a lot to you with this IEM but would you expect it to actually matter for the more casual listeners who haven't basically acquired relative pitch from thousands of hours of critical listening?
It won't matter even to "serious" listeners, and DMS wouldn't be able to discern the difference either between an expensive DAC and an Apple dongle. But they're selling them in their store, so...
1. Noise floor is non existent as long as the iem is good. 2. 4.4 mm connector and 3.5MM are the same in terms of sound quality. 3. Amp or dac doesn’t matter as long as you have something decent, that doesn’t color the sound. Edit: Noise floor

Aren't the balanced connections (4.4mm/XLR) better engineered in most dacs/amps and SE connections mostly an afterthought? So, I believe balanced matters because it showcases the Dac/Amp's full potential,not because there is anything magical with going balanced.
Why would the so called balanced connection make a difference? You just get double the voltage which you have to attenuate more for sensitive and easy to drive earphones. This makes no easy sense from a technical point of view. Any ideas or is that placebo or just a peculiarity with the 'single ended' performance of the particular amp used? There can be an output impedance discrepancy between 'single ended' and 'balanced' with some amps ('single ended' is often lower impedance) so maybe this is the case here? But that would be amp specific.
If you live inside an electric plant it could make a difference. If you live right next to a radio tower it could make a difference. I've found no discernable difference when using balanced with my HD800s's, or when using balanced with my Unique Melody MEST's.
@@josephw7950 no it would not unless the HPs are active supporting a differential input, which they are not. There is no common mode noise rejection using 'balanced' in the amp to headphones path in the same way it does not exist from amp to speakers.. You are confusing this with the real balanced differential connection when the signal goes into a suitable amp. The only difference in HP connection is the potential for double the max voltage hence 4 times the max power theoretical capability and, as I already mentioned, there are sometimes output impedance differences between amp outputs usually due to sloppy engineering.
This might be shocking to you with all your "so-called" balanced and quotation "balanced" comments, but there's more going on with balanced than just increased power.
Well, if you have enough money for U12t, take them. I own IE 600 and love them, listened U12t and yeah, they are better, for my ears not 3 times like a price tag shows but why not. I would rather invest rest money somewhere else :-).
Hi, Do you hear a lot of surrounding noise, especially with the vent? It seems that everyone forgets that this was one of the most important aspects of the iem before.. It's good to have excellent sound, but you have to be able to enjoy it when you're on the move, in transport etc.
Most IEMs also have smaller vents, and never noticed any surrounding noise coming in. And also, you can always close the vents to provide more bass and less tremble energy/soundstage
@@Damien_N Hi. I'm ok with your statement, but a lot of the iem's (with dynamic drivers) I've tried lately have really average insulation. Maybe the zirconium used in these headphones can help, and it's true that sometimes the event doesn't interfere with anything
@@wiesolos Hence why the reply is not directed at you specifically. It would be reasonable to extrapolate that the IE600 is not as capable as the IE800
This whole range of new IEMs from Sennheiser really does give me confidence in the continuation of the strength of the brand after the audiophile business was sold last year. There looks to be a lot to love at each of the 3 price points they’ve chosen. I’m really hopeful for this to continue with a new HD 600 or HD 800 type model, (maybe even a different transducer type, like a planar or electrostatic design)

This seems like a silly debate. Even if he hasn't had experience with every DD IEM out there. Generally anything worth it's weight has gone through the team at some point. Can you name a DD that has a chance to be better that he may not have tested yet?
@@pitou115 precog did a piece on it. Didn't think it had the secret sauce as he called it but better tonally to the IE900. I think with the tone one the IE600 being so much closer to what people want and how many reviewers say they like the IE600 more. I am thinking most are going to rate the IE600 higher than the Zen Pro. Still could be a close fight.
Are you by chance a bl-08 believer? Lol. If life was really that easy then maybe there's no hifi setup with $10000+ speaker, dac-dap, headphone, whatever.
