@@eyn85 Well, Geese and Krauser aren't supposed to like each others either. Geese always feared Krauser for the beat up he (Geese) took when Krauser was 7 years old (and Geese 15). Then Krauser wanted to take Geese's place right after FF1 events. Of course, FF and KOF have different timelines so their relation can also be different... same could go for Kain.
The King of Fighters 1996 is possibly the most important game in the entire series. It established the gameplay mechanics that would help it break away from its competitors, the animation got a huge overhaul and the soundtrack is one of the best ever. 1996 and 1997 started refined the gameplay little by little until they put it all together in 1998. I did not get to play this one back in the day. Obviously this was a very good game. I can see that they really cleaned up the choppy graphics. Looks very nice and aged well
