@@MrDoobie12286 Most of the guitars are LES PAULS so all of those just increase the number of Les Paul’s signature models. Les is still the king. Les Paul’s signature models are so good that people who “don’t buy signature models” actually buy them.
First of all, I didn’t know Keith Urban was a Star Wars fan. (That’s a real deep reference and if you get it you are awesome.) And Keith Urban’s last guitar line offered all kinds of fight!!! lol 😂
Kieth was my mates neighbour down the coast in NSW. He is unusually normal. They would talk about horse fences and you could find Kieth at Trivia night at the pub.
i own a silver sky and have never been into john mayer. He was funny on the chappelle show back when i was in high school, but thats the only time ive heard his music. I just wanted a high end strat and i was disapointed with my $2k fender american vintage 60's style and didnt want to jump up to $5k for a custom shop strat, so i landed on the silver sky. ive been very happy with it.
I am a John Mayer fan, but went the other way actually. Found a 1988 MIJ Fender Strat that was in basically perfect condition and hardly ever played. Brought to the states by a guy from Japan and sold it in Seattle where I found it. I dig John but my 88 is my baby and I have no reason now to buy a Silver Sky even if they are killer guitars
G'Day - oh dear, an Aussie accent (always with "mate" in there somewhere - Paul Hogan has so much to answer for). Still, apart for that, great discussion about money (fave topic).
Joe Bonamassa has to have the most signature products. In addition to his endless procession of signature Epiphones, you can choose from literally thousands of products branded with his name, from cigar humidors, to umbrellas, to letter openers and golf balls. I don’t think anyone, even KISS, would stoop to putting their name on so much junk.
My guy I refer you to the KISS condoms and KISS Casket. I'm sure if they could have KISS branded sunshine they just might. Oh and somewhere out there Slash just saw both of our comments and went "Hold my drink" and got back to work
@@TheBlindAndTheBeautiful they ‘d both better get to work if they want to catch up to Joe. Look at his online store, it is mind boggling. Slash just has signature guitars afaik
@@APMTenants I took a look at JB's web store... Dude is he a guitarist or a flee market salesman. I bow to you and your win on this one that is insane. I like him as a guitarist. But that is just insanity right there
Hey hey, my my, sorry but I don't know much about John Mayer. I have seen Vanilla Sky. My wife isn't into hip hop but she has her toys. I think Keith should endorce the Chevy Suburban if they would make it... The Urban Suburban
Why isn’t there more signature gear for The Beatles, The Stones, and Hendrix? Hendrix has probably had the most signature stuff, but a lot of that was expensive, or there’s that digitech pedal, or that purple guitar cable Same for The Beatles, there’s some stuff, but it’s expensive! Or it was absolute garbage from the 60s The Stones, I’m only aware of a signature tele for Keith Three of the biggest acts from the 60s and manufacturers don’t seem that interested. One of my dream guitars would be that John Lennon master build Epiphone Casino
Cashing in is why people create art, right? I don't like you lumping Neil Young in for trying to create a digital music player that sounded better than the crap we have. Remember- This note's for you.
Kiss is a signature staple, the epitome of What rock n roll is and could be. Whether or not you dig the music you can't deny the impact and marketing genius of the band. I saw a poster of them in my uncles apt when I was about 6 years old..all I knew was they were the coolest comic figuers I ever saw and had to know more. That was the day I discovered Rock n roll. Life went downhill from there...lol JK I'm sure tons of kids experienced similar feelings like I did. And That is why they are Iconic. Plus they did have some cool tunes and as musicians severely underestimated.
Les Pauls are the only signature guitars I own. I don't have any sig stuff of anyone mentioned in this video, nor do I listen to any of them 😁 I would buy a Chrissie Hynde Telecaster, though. It's only marking is a CH on the neck plate.
As a little kid back in the early '60s I had a Beatles plastic toy guitar with their portraits and signatures on the front. Tragically, my parent threw it away when I grew out of it! If only I still had it, it would be worth more than all my real guitars combined! ☹
Dammit! I was just gettin ready to jump on here and comment "You can blame all this, On Kiss" and I get to 9:10 Wham! it's KISS! Blame it on the KISS juice I guess. lol
If signature models were actually better in some ways, but it’s just additional money you have to pay for the same instruments you could get cheaper without a signature on the instrument. Even in resale they’re not Selling for enough more to make it worth the original purchase!
@@seanbrooks2583 Urban is also married to a legendary actress and if any of the property they own is both their names that will count toward the net worth of both. Then there’s also the fact that “country” music artists release new music more frequently than rock artists and in many cases tour more often as well.
From what I understand the urban one is to have some kind of phoenix from a tattoo of his and a modified sound hole if that’s the case I’d be out The silver sky has mayers name really small on the neck plate on the back I have a silver sky and could care less about John Mayer being involved but they are fantastic guitars
Companies are throwing so many signatures at consumers that I gotta ask when is enough, enough? It's hard to even keep up with who is getting what or when..I hope the how's and whys are worth the hype.
