The amount or care you have for the creatures you catch, and in this case find on the bank, always brings happiness to me. You respect nature, and it's so refreshing to see. Thank you for sharing your adventures.
@@440-fishermandrock8 If you watched enough of his videos to see him do that, you know that he targets invasive or fast breeding bait fish. He is not being malicious, he just uses the resources that are at hand. You can still take harvest from nature and still respect it.
As someone with pet snakes, what you did is rare even for an outdoorsman. Good on ya! And with these rains we got today, you should have some good vids coming up if it was the same a little further up north!
I know some of us do but many others subscribe to the "only good snake is a dead snake" thing. And for the population in general, that is the default thinking. They will go out of their way to kill them.
Tangly nasty is what a guy i hiked w called most 🐍. I feel the same but were both alway careful to make sure we just wemt around them. Usually when ya walk up on em they're hunting
BUDDY, lots of good stuff in this video. Catching fish, saving a snake, and then bringing the net out so no more animals get caught in it. All this and more is why I’ve been a fan of 618 Fishing, thanks again for sharing the awesomeness. 🎣🐟🎥💯👍
Good on you for saving that snake.... even if it might have been a cottonmouth. Its their world too and they have a right to exist. Also good on you for picking up trash and removing it from potentially hurting other animals. I would definitely like to see another go at both the spill way and maybe even a kayak trip on the main lake? Not sure how easy that would be but it sure looked nice. I always enjoy the adventures to spillways and the creeks that they feed. Another interesting video!
That spillway is a good find, the sheer number of bait fish in there is a amazing. Would love to see you back there and maybe take a wander down the creek and see what you can find. Fantastic video as always! Kia Ora from New Zealand 🇳🇿
Definitely not a water moccasin/cottonmouth. Just a water snake and a small one at that. They can be evil tempered though and give you a pretty good bite. Glad you could help it out. Keep up the good work.
I've found water snakes and rat snakes to be very pugnacious. My neighbors call me to remove the latter, they are afraid of them. They bite, but haven't much force (though lots of bacteria, I'm told.)
I do believe you are correct about the snake, from the little I could see of him I think he was a common water snake. The cotton mouth is a bit more chunky and very aggressive. You are a good man for saving the snake and cleaning up the netting.
The part with the snake brought back a memory of exact same encounter I had while fishing in a lake near home. I had been fishing a while when I noticed as commotion in the water several yards to my right. Upon investigation I realized it was a water snake tangled IRONICALLY in the same type of mesh that you showed in the video. I believe it is used to keep the branches of shrubs together whir moving them. Unfortunately, it acts like a GILL NET to a snake, as their scales prevent them from backing out. I had to CUT it off to free him.
Great job saving that snake! I am sure he was appreciative and that lunge at you was just an attempt to give you a fist bump - snake style!!!! Awesome video...always excellent!! Mike 🇨🇦 🍁 👍
Nick,I not only like to watch your adventures but also like to read the comments. Your viewers leave some of the most constantly positive posts.it flows your peaceful nature. Thanks and tight lines everyone
Just found your channel! We started fishing as a family a couple of years ago and we appreciate your videos and it's so great to show our kids (8 and 10) your enthusiasm for fishing! We were camping in Nauvoo, IL a few months ago and fished Horton Lake, sooo many water snakes! I generally steer away from them but the kids seem unfazed. Caught a bunch of bluegills with hot dogs and a lady caught a 5 pound bass, it was great. BUT for the snakes!!😖 Keep up the great work with the videos!
HEY THAT'S WASHINGTON COUNTY!! I LOVE THAT LAKE!! Has some great catfishing there. If you go to the edge by the tree and throw it towards the creek ahead of you, you will probably get something. Good luck!
Great video Nick! I don't mind seeing all the Sunfish (Bluegill & Crappie) you caught. Course don't mind seeing the other large catches you get, like Bass, Gar & Catfish. Was REALLY sweet seeing you fish by off that wood pier in the lake. Was a nice change. Too bad fishing there didn't work. About the Snake Nick. I've owned decent number of snakes. I THINK they may be a "Corn Snake". Colors look about right. Not venomous, fairly common and known to be ill tempered. Not sure you ever stopped by our fishing channel, but in one of our older videos I put up a video of my mildly venomous Snake biting me and putting me into the hospital. Nearly took my hand, then arm then nearly my life. All on video. Feel free to check it out if you've the time. Outside of that glad you had a sweet fishing trip, in California fishing just started picking up maybe 2 months ago. Our last trip... Striper hunting. Heh Tight lines Nick! Ken & Lea
@@618Fishing Yeah I'm fine... was a CLOSE call. Even the hospital had to call the CDC to figure out what to do. They had little experience with venomous snake bites. So still enough left in me to SET HOOK on my next fishing trip. FISH ON Nick!
Great job, Nick! I love how you saved that poor snake. Being somewhat of a reptile/invertebrate guy myself (I keep snakes, scorpions, tarantulas, crabs, shrimp and a bearded dragon as pets), I can definitely say that you did well. It's always good to treat any unknown species as if they are venomous. Nice to know too that at least some people over there in the US don't kill each and every snake they see. They are such misunderstood creatures.
Nice video Nick but I'll have to say the highlight for me was the outtake at the very end! That lil shriek had me. Another part of your videos that keep me until the very end. your blooper outtakes! Good stuff bro.
U r a stand up dude for that snake rescue. Also I must say that your skills are next level, fishing, filming, editing and all around master of your domain. Keep up the good work. Respect.
Another great one sir. Thank you for all the fun and excitement. Thank you for many awesome future fishing adventures for my daughter and I, things are moving along well. You are definitely One of the most kind people I know of, and you obviously have great respect and care for nature. Bummer about your phone.
