I remember hearing John sing this piece at a small Kitchener Pentecostal church over 25 years ago. My young family had just traveled down a very difficult road with very few understanding our plight...except Jesus. I wept in that assembly as he delivered those lyrics. I was transported by the awesome power of praise ...back to earlier Jimmy Swaggart Crusades in an era when the Holy Ghost outpouring seemed unstoppable. The song picked me and gave courage in a way indescribable.
Back in the 90s I record this song on a cassette from the radio. Still have the cassette today with other John Starnes songs. Great singer God gave John a special gift.
I bought this tapes in 1986 but it's all gone now even Jimmy Swaggart music never thought that I could hear them again praise God for to the advancement of technology that I am able to listen music from the other side of the globe 🌎 Amen

i was 25 or so when jimmy and all the team went to costa rica at the national stadium i had the pleasure to see the whole team at the hotel i was working at the time. i did not speak a single word in English back then but i remember every Saturday at one oclock he was there on tv with subtitles in Spanish and i was running like crazy trying to read and understand what he was talking about and i remember this magic song by john always a blessing thanks for bringing it up GOD bless you.

...I was the musical director for a very spirit-filled church here in Reno....."The Center of Hope" originally pastored by Maurice Washington, who also became a Nevada State Senator... and as most of the music was in the style of Donnie McClurkin, Helen Baylor and other full blown gospel groups and vocalists ...I had only heard Helen Baylor do this tune in conjunction with "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" ....and I fell in love with the chorus ...."You are my King...you are the Lamb....the Lion of Judah....the seed of Abraham....The Holy One....God's only Son....You are the King of who I am..." .. Powerful doesn't say it all as to the effect these lyrics had on me the first time I heard it sung....but, you can be certain that when I need to rekindle my spirit and strengthen my weaknesses.....I can listen to this tune and once again...feel as if I am in the presence of the Lamb, the Lion ...the Holy One,...and it reminds me of His manifestation unto me...the first time when I was being rolled into Washoe Med's Heart Surgery Operating facility .....about 12-13 years ago....I was afraid ..of course...and in my mind, not out loud....I casually asked "Am I going to make it, Father??..Will I live through this operation??" .....You can imagine my shock even in such a traumatic event when I distinctly heard a voice inside my head (which I believe to this day to be Father God) reply to me: "Yes...William...you will live...but, I need a favor from you...". I replied ...."Anything, Father....but how could I do anything for You...?" .....Very distinctly and father-like ......I heard Him say: "You must tell people...tell the world about "the Power of Prayer.." .. And to the best of my ability since that event .....I have been doing my best to comply with his request....and, I tell you now...anyone who reads my comment and gets this far.....Please DO trust in and believe in the Power of Prayer........you will never regret that ...of that I am sure...

Beautiful song indeed! I've always loved John Starnes' voice even when he sang with brother Jimmy Swaggart. I was fortunate to see him in person in Florida 3 years ago. Wonderful man of God he is. Thank you for posting this song.
