I grew up watching the King Family every Saturday night with my family. My mom even took my sister and I to the Ohio State Fair one year for a King Family Concert. The highlight of my young life. I only wish all the shows were available on DVD. I recently bought the Christmas DVD. Still think the Sisters were brilliant and beautiful. Especially Alyce and her low harmonious tones.
I miss all of these beautiful women. I love this song and I do listen to it when I am blue and it picks me up. Thank You for so many years of uplifting music. I LOVE THE KING FAMILY!! GOD BLESS>>>>
We used to take great shows like this for granted but boy do I miss them now. My family always watched the King Family together and this clip takes me back to those happier simpler times. Incidently the King Sisters were still HOT and gave the King Cousins a run for their money LOL. I wish women still dressed up like this
I love the outfits the sisters and cousins have on in the beginning of the video. The variation from short to long but the top of the dress/gowns match. Beautiful song with the entire family.
@baffledman - Marilyn performs throughout the year...her daughter Jenn Staves performs in Los Angeles - Vonnie's granddaughter, Jamie Green (Cathy's daughter) performs a lot in Santa Barbara, CA, - Ric de Azevedo (Alyce's son) performs with the group REUNION, next performance is in August in Big Bear, CA, - you can find links to their websites on the Official King Family website.
There is a DVD currently on the market...Christmas with the King Family, a musical documentary that aired on public television. The DVD features the new doc plus the complete original 1967 King Family Special.
Please, uf there are more clips post them or put a dvd on the market. This reminds me so much of my childhood. I never missed an episode. Love the sisters!!!
Yvonne King Burch, who gained early fame as one of the singing King Sisters during the big band era before launching her entire extended musical clan into show business as the King Family, has died. She was 89. Burch died in a Santa Barbara hospital Sunday, where she was taken for injuries she suffered in a fall last week, said her daughter, Tina Cole. Burch was the matriarch of the King Family, a popular and enduring show business dynasty.
