Thank you for this lesson. As you have shared in other places, the “Lullaby Effect” as older Christian’s were we have heard the “message” many times but have stopped “hearing” the Word of God is seemingly simple and yet so profound of a statement for this older follower of Jesus. Thank you for your insight.
This Kingdom series is so important, and is a catalyst to helping us remove our unhealthy thinking and acting that have kept ourselves and others from truly experiencing Kingdom as it should be, Shalom and trusting the story.
Thanks again, I know I need to get rid of the rocks in my life I hate to admit that I don't have space at time for the kingdom. Today that is going to change thanks again, I had to watch this video 3 times today because the distractions in my morning
I'm so profoundly grateful for transformative understanding of the text. Wrestling with this will be interesting! 'We dont get to decide what's in and what's out.' The path illustration is challenging - breaking rocks might be life changing
Great video and one that I’ll be listening to again for sure. I search about the Jewish story of the four learners and it’s interesting. Pasting part of it below. It’s mentions about the story of understanding exodus when they go through the 4 learners. I wonder if Jesus being in the boat has anything to do with how Moses was found as a child. Let me know what you think. Or maybe I’m just losing it haha In the Passover Haggadah, a central text of the Jewish seder, there is a narrative about four sons/learners who represent different approaches to learning and understanding the story of the Exodus from Egypt. These sons are: The Wise Son: This son is knowledgeable about Jewish tradition and asks insightful questions about the Exodus. He seeks to understand the deeper meaning and significance of the story. The Wicked Son: This son is cynical and disbelieving, asking questions that challenge the validity of the Exodus story. He may be seen as rebellious or even hostile towards Jewish tradition. The Simple Son: This son is innocent and curious, asking straightforward questions about the story. He seeks a clear and simple explanation of the events. The One Who Does Not Know How to Ask: This son is unaware of the story and its significance, and needs guidance and explanation to understand the Exodus.
I wonder if there is some "and also" here with these four different types. When I think about it, I think in some areas of my life I can be a faster learner slow doer. Yet, in other areas, I can be a slow learner and a fast doer. Similarly, what if in the various areas of our lives, we are comprised of all four types of soil? >insert blown mind here
Just like the personality types in psychology can overlap, I agree the the types of learners we are can also overlap or change depending our season of life.
Jewish tradition of 4 leaners: Fast learner slow doer Fast loaner fast doer Slow learner fast doer Slow leaner slow doer Which one am I? Sponger Funnel Strainer Siv takes in and keeps only the good stuff?
