Read book one, read book two, then think about what will happen in book three for all of eternity. Granted I love the Kingkiller books, i'm just tired of the endless wait.
I love all your content about the Chronicles. The way you talk about it, always respectfully, bringing good and interesting information about it. Thank you! I hope you continue making these videos, it is a way to keep the story alive and for us to have a place to discuss it :) great content!
Got myself a copy of "The name of the wind" a week ago and I'm absolutely loving it so far. I'm already 200 pages into it, which may seem not much for some, but it's been a long time since I was THAT invested in a story of any kind. I didn't know much about the series until recently and now I might end up reading all of it, including spinnofs. Overall, great video, enjoyed it a lot. Keep it up!
@hl4239 stormlight is not the best fantasy out there, I would recommend malazan next, or a song of ice and fire. Nothing against Brando Sando, there's just better books.
@@salmonofknowledge3229 I didn't say it's the best one. I have read song of.. and Malazan till the house of chains.. and reading...There are no one The best. I think you will agree that of this tree series, the only one uplifting is storm light. The other ones are green dark.
I love kingkiller, just absolutely love re-reading them. I always get sad when I get to the Adem part of WMF because I know it's all coming to the end. on a happier note, just picked up Mistborn and I'm super excited to read it!
I dont know if anyone else remembers Patrick saying this, but at one point he said the KingKiller books were a gaint prequel. In my mind that means Kvothe goes back out into the world after telling his story to the Chronicler. Just bums me out that we won't ever get that story.
Ok. I’m halfway. This might be the best book I’ve ever read. When I’m not reading it, I’m drawn to it. I can’t put my finger on just what it is, but there’s something very special about this story. It may end up being my favorite book of all time.
I love, love, love this series. Just finished WMF. It’s so damn good, I don’t care if it’s unfinished. I just hope I get the finale in my lifetime, but even if I don’t- it was worth it.
@@gabianderlebecause the author has consistently lied about releasing the third book, then stolen millions of dollars from fans. It's pretty simple actually.
@@Soylent2024 well, he thought he was going to release the book on the dates he set, and then, when he noticed he couldn't, he was honest with everybody about not being able of making it in time, so... No point hating the author for smt so small. Now, about the part where he "stole millions of dollars", the money was all donated, and yes, we did not get the chapter - I am also upset about this, obviously - but my money went to charity, and that was the aim; I still don't understand the amount of hate everybody feels hahahahah I get it, plp are upset with things, but cmon... let's chill; people are being so nasty and hateful bc of a book... everything is ok, the book will be released one day, or not, and that is ok also. I'm just happy I was able to connect with this amazing story in the first place.
Honestly at this point, I have lost hope that he will ever finish the story. I absolutely adored the books when I read them. However, I have forgotten most of it anyway.
Same and i’m usually not bad at separating the art from the artist. I haven’t bought the new novella after what happened with his charity chapter. It feels like he only decided to address it recently because of the novella coming out.
I loved the first two books but haven't read the novellas because I have given up on this series. The authors apparently lack of interest in finishing the series has become too annoying to ignore.
Yeah this isn’t that hard to figure out. Surprised so many people ask about it. I love your KKC content, please keep it up. Theories keep the dream alive for me.
Rothfuss is THE REASON why I avoid beginning a book series unless it is completely finished. 4 years to complete book 2? And he has written AT LEAST 4 books before book 3. I stopped half way into book 2 once I realized this. I refuse to be held captive that long. And no, I refuse to read George Martin's Game of Thrones for this very reason. Yes, they are good books, but there are way too many other books to read.
what song is playing in the background of your video? Around the giveaway part in your video into How old holly came to be? The enchanting female vocals? It's beautiful
About your theory videos. Have you ever considered going down the line of is Bast Kvoth's son? Time in the Fey doesn't agree with our time frame and it's certainly plausible.
Yes I made a full video on Bast where I mention some theories: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gEAu53a5ghk.htmlsi=hx6e-BLj_9cdq50d It's been a while, but I believe I mention that theory in my video. Definitely a possibility!
The Edema Ruh are the descendant of The Amyr... RUh...from RUach... They are the Singers... The perfect cover to go from Town to Town... This is why Kvothe is the Legacy by blood of The Amyr..
I think his legacy is through his mother's blood. That's what will help him open the four plate door. The Singers aren't human. If Kvothe's troupe were of the Singers the Chandrian would have had a harder time and, one assumes, they would have already known all the stuff that they were spending time researching to write that song.
Honestly they were my favourite books I’d read but after 10 years of waiting they now leave a sour taste in my mouth. Especially when you see Rothfuss doing everything but write the book and begging for donations and he’ll go and work on the book. Such a shame.
I just picked it up because it seemed like the name of the wind. Im 50 pages in and it really is so derivative. Im going to see it through i think, but its very silly how much is just the name of the wind.
@@grant9637 Yeah, it's a shame, it had so much promise at the start and the cover art is beautiful. I fully bought into it and got two copies of the hardback, one of them a special edition, and the audiobook. It wasn't all bad, the bit inspired by Gentlemen Bastards was alright and more inspire by then derivative of but I wouldn't recommend it to people especially if they don't know NotW because it's full of straight-up spoilers for another story! As you already have it and started trying to finish it isn't too bad an idea, if you remember I'd love to hear once you're closer to the end and have found the part where he stole from Tolkien too.
@@jale346 The time he is takings is crazy. He thought he needed to refresh his writing and creativity with a book but no instead of the third book he chose to rewrite the lightning tree. I am sure it is good but…really.
@@CapturedInWords Can I encourage you to use drawn art by someone or something public domain and credit them instead? You seem like a good person whose really well informed. I feel like you'd understand the struggle writers and artists are going through by having their work fed into these models without their consent all to replace them. I think it would be wrong for someone else to plug your voice and expressions into a machine to create more videos. Same goes for other types of art yk?
I stumbled upon NOTW probably 7 years ago at the library and picked it up just cause the cover looked ominous and cool. Who knew it’d end up being my favorite series of all time. I re-read or listen to it on audio once a year
I cannot believe the two biggest fantasy authors both can’t finish their series. How can they both be so weak minded. Not releasing the chapter after donating money is unacceptable.
just an Amazon placeholder date not an actual release date. Rothfuss has said he'll be the first person to announce it so not to trust any placeholders
I want to read the series but the fact people have been waiting too long for a third book is holding me back but after watching this video maybe I’ll pick it up
Honestly, It is my all time favourite series. It is magical.. so as long as you dont mind the tease of probably never having a conclusion.. It might be worth the read@@ChaptersWeLove
As another person said here in the comments: "It’s so damn good, I don’t care if it’s unfinished. I just hope I get the finale in my lifetime, but even if I don’t- it was worth it.". I think this is the exact feeling I get when I think about the Chronicles. Of course I would love to read the third book, but even if I can't, having read it has made my days better. I hope you enjoy it!
Do yourself a favor. Don't touch these underwhelming poetry books until the 3rd is out. Any promise of revenge or the Chandrian hasn't even started yet. He's just going to school, dating & lying about his deeds.
If interested in reading this. DONT!! It’s very good and it will drive you nuts there is no ending. I wish I never read this now. It literally makes me angry.
For anyone who wants to pick up "unfettered" to read "how old Holly came to be" or the other stories in the collection, the publisher (grim oak press) actually did a reprint for the 10th anniversary. So you can get a paperback or a hardcover at their website
Sanderson's writing would never fit. The difference would be jarring and awful. Sanderson already said he would never do KKC or ASOIAF. He needs to work on the Cosmere anyways
The guy is overrated. He’s waiting for the tv series to hit and then after the series has ended he will release the book. He is also doing this on purpose. Probably worried people will soon forget him after his main series has ended.
I once said to Rothfuss that if anything bad happened to Aurie that I would "stitch together a necklace of your fingers, as I watched you try to stuff your guts back into your belly"
@@jale346 I'm not so sure. Look at the fantastic job Brian Sanderson did with Robert Jordan's work. Now I know that Jordan left like a crazy amount of notes. But I'm sure Mr. Procrastination has some notes as well.
@@jale346 Where did you see that I said Brandon should do it. And apologies for the name mess up, I hit the wrong one.lol, I said the he did a great job on Jordan's books. What I meant to imply is that there is always someone that could finish it. And we have heard that there is writings on the third book. True or not is anyone's guess.
Married life has been very good!! We are actually on a belated honeymoon right now in Cancun and having a wonderful time 😊 we are both hoping to have kids in a year or two
Well again, I've had lots of people asking me about the novellas and short stories, so I think it's worth it to have a video out there explaining it for those interested. I posted another video this week as well, so really this is just a bonus. If you're not interested you don't have to watch :)
Also really The Wheel of Time only has one side novella, so it's much easier to grasp the reading order. The Kingkiller Chronicle (while a much shorter series then WoT, has a handful of short stories and novellas).
