WoW, if that is the correct translation from Latin to English the song mentions Hell, Stinking and Doom many, many times. Had no idea as the song and melody seemed so moving and more grand. Almost looks like Basil is paying homage to satan. Ugh.
I can't even listen to the original version of this anymore! This one's too... I don't know! Good? Close to perfect? Something! Also, I keep imagining the image on the case for Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword for the Wii when I hear this. I don't know/care what anyone else thinks, I think *This* version of "The Kitchen" goes *VERY* well with *That* image!!
I remember this music fondly from my childhood. Back in the day, Medieval Times dinner show didn't have an actual soundtrack, so they pretty much used the Conan soundtrack. Knights fighting to this soundtrack makes it so cool!
Even though when this came out in theaters it wasn't in stereo. It still fukkin rocked. Oliver Stone and General John Milius and Composer Basil Poliderius made history with this movie.
The man who suddenly appeared was nearly a giant with deeply corded muscles from his shoulders and arms to his thighs and legs. His burly arms were bulging with steel- like muscles but for all his massive muscularity he had the stature of a panther and glided across the marble floor like a leopard. His blue eyes burned through a shock of straight, black hair and his scarred face grinned white teeth. -Robert E. Howard
The bandit Olgerd Vladislov rode his horse up to the cross where the Cimmerian hung crucified. He then looked back at his fellow renegades and bellowed: "It looks like Queen Taramis is getting rid of her old favorites, including (smiling knowingly at the Cimmerian) this dying dog!" Conan, shaking the sweat and blood from his eyes growled at Olgerd: "If I could come down off from this cross, I'd make a dying dog of you, you Zaparoskan thief!" - Robert E. Howard, A Witch Shall be Born (1934).
Cautiously the Cimmerian stared through the cave entrance and took a step inside. Suddenly he was staring at a group of six silent figures seated at a vast oaken table. They were dressed in pirate regalia including feathered hats and leather boots. Flagons of wine and goblets were spilled carelessly on the silver tablecloth. But the pirates sat slumped in their chairs, silent and motionless. For a moment the Cimmerian, embarrassed, said nothing but then he roared at them: "Well? Are you all drunk?!" You might at least offer a fellow corsair a swallow of that wine you've been swigging!" - The Treasure of Tranicos (Robert E. Howard)
Orgy at the center of the mountain = Dark Ages = Heaven in the heart of Hell. *2 years earlier; 1980* Empire Strikes Back, Cloudy City, Carbon Freezing Chamber = Futuristic; But in the Past of another galaxy; "A Long Time Ago, in a galaxy far far away" = Hell at the heart of Heaven

The kicthen sound even more deep and involving than the original and maybe it should be left apart from the orgy, that doesn't suit much for me with the epicness of the first track.
The pirates Strombanni and Verrano sat with the mercenary Galbro and the haughty Count Valenso in the raucous, bawdy inn drinking cups of wine. Presently, the men took to arguing exchanging vicious insults and even threats to draw swords. Finally, with an angry wave of the hand, the Count asked: "Where is this map of the treasure of Tranicos by any measure?" Meanwhile, his approach unnoticed, there was standing before the table a giant of a man dressed in pirate regalia and with a great sword in the scabbard. His muscles bulged through his costume and he grinned with deviltry as he held up a yellowed parchment in his left hand while squeezing his sword hilt with his right. With a mocking grin, he asked - "Is this it?" The four men leaped to their feet and exclaimed "Conan of Cimmeria!" The barbarian unsheathed his sword and smashed it down onto the drinking table as he roared: "Sit down!" as almost at once the four men sat back down panting with hatred and greed. - Robert E. Howard, The Treasure of Tranicos (1934).
The four pirates sat around the drinking table in violent argument about the whereabouts of a treasure map. Curses and threats spewed out of their mouths. Then as Count Valenso asked: "Who has the map?" the pirates Serrano, Strombanni and Galbro suddenly looked up and saw a muscular giant of a man approach the table. He was dressed in full pirate regalia holding a sword in his right hand and a yellowed parchment in his left. The four men looked up in shock as Conan the Cimmerian - with a ferocious smile - held up the map and asked: "Is this it?" At once the four men leaped to their feet and in unison shouted: "CONAN!" to which Conan slammed his sword on the table and roared: SIT DOWN!! The four pirates sat back down panting with excitement and hatred. - "The Treasure of Tranicos," Robert E. Howard (1934).
The creation takes the creator by surprise; insulting the king. How dare the unworthy cling to such atrocities, such as gold. The only valuable resource is man!
A redditor offered the following translation of the words: Give food to Hephaestus, go deep to him To the oracle responsible of everything To the beautiful deep hell of the servants of doom Stinking hell To the beautiful deep hell Stinking, stinking doom Stinking hell Give food, suffer, go to him, to Hephaestus Through the deep doom Through the beautiful deep hell Through the beautiful hell responsible of all doom Beautiful deep hell of servants of doom To the deep, deep doom Give food, suffer, go to him, to Hephaestus Through the deep doom Hephaestus was the Greek god of blacksmiths, fire and metallurgy, which fits thematically with The Riddle of Steel.
Not taking away from Prague Philharmonic, but this feels "rushed", it's quite sad as it sounds amazing, I wish the tempo was more inline with Basil Poledouris vision.
TRUST (How many of you can cross your name out from the list of trustworthy?) Justice (What makes justice served to arrogant, abusive cowards?) Healing (Not more pain, trauma and injustice, but truth, justice and make wrongs right)
Cowards and reality twisters are not writing true stories. They lie and twist how it serves their interest. Don't believe in a word they say! They already twisted it to their advantage, the word what they say is not reality, all deception to the T.
It is nothing to be about romantic or not. It is about being a human who has some kind of responsibility for his actions and has dignity, an innate need to fix mistakes that caused suffering. A grown human who decides for himself because it is his life, not a child who acts as he was told.
what, no pause/set-up chord between the songs!!!??? Oh well. This song (2nd part), Bolero, and the Basic Instinct theme are the best orchestral pieces for "wrestling"
so fantastic again here are really people who only release half of a soundtrack most of the tracks are missing or you can't even write I call it bullshit
Hell is an old English word meaning to cover over. Like when you are buried you are covered by 6 foot of dirt. It is used in place of the Greek Hades and the Hebrew sheol meaning the grave. Not to be mistaken for Gehenna, the second death aka fire and brimstone, lake of fire meaning eternal destruction. So when you say reign in hell you are saying you will be king of the dirt or grave. If the devil made you a promise that you would reign with him in hell now may be a good time say devil means lier, slanderer, deceiver.
Its more like both have some influence by holst "jupiter" - and also the Bolero is connected with the carnival - which, coming from old latin "carne vale" literally means to say goodbye to all the meat and flesh reserves in a huge festival before the start of the 40 days of fasting.
