I'm still listening to the chill out album regularly have been since it came out ....now I've just found the new version ...not chill ...it's like starting all over again ......🤣😂. Honestly it's just perfect ....DJ Shadow introducing and the chill out album have been in my track list since they came out ......I still enjoy them now as much as I did the first time I heard them ..... perfection ...is the only word to describe them ...
@@mrsweetpotato4354 do you mean "A Huge Ever Growing Pulsating Brain That Rules From the Centre of the Ultraworld" or is there a different one? Cheers mate
Cool one...SPACE was already marvelous! My Favourite...but it's from Jimmy...this is so atmospheric it blows you up to the clouds! A good start into the day! With the other you can land in the evening after a day in the orbit! Thanks! ORB was and is cool! For rockers too😂😂😂👍
May the goddess grant you unlimited bandwidth (A) n Peace. (Just did a half hour crash course in hexadecimal codes hoping to insert the windows symbol for Peace or alternatively the Yin-Yang and decades of this music and associated pastimes has, it seems, melted more brain cells than I had initially anticipated, still at least the Anarchy one is idiot proof, awesome upload BTW. I recently rediscovered the original when I played to the little cherub in the pic during fireworks exploding needlessly close, does the job nicely. Now I have discovered your channel by looking up Space as it did not follow "Chillout" as per usual {huzzah}. She and I are less keen on The White Room which da toob had defaulted to. Oh some numpty near me lets them off most weekends from October till early January... I find this much more relaxing than threatening to firebomb their garden thanks. Now where did bloody peace go, oh here it is wafting out my BnWs!!!)
I've been listening to this since it's release - mainly on short haul flights ... I have all the original KLF stuff ..... seriously swerve "This Is What Chill Out Is About" - it's a total abortion .... I always thought the original "Space" felt a touch empty compared to Chill Out .... This version of Space is several other levels .. .. like .... seriously 😱❤️🔥🔥🔥
This stuff is pretty similar to what was called "isolationist ambient" back in the mid-late 90's, or "dark ambient". Most people would point to Sleep Research Facility's "Nostromo" as a key recording in this style. A long time favorite of mine is Mick Harris/Bill Laswell's recording called "Somnific Flux". Justin Broadrick's Final project has released many recordings in this style. There's lots and lots more to discover.
Mindlook from Jonson partly has the same vibe. La Barca from Thomas Köner has the same dark-ambient-with-samples-and-excerpts setup. (for darker and deeper try "The Futurist Manifesto" or "Novaya Zemlya")
FFWD - FFWD, a collab by The Orb (Thomas Fehlmann, Kris Weston, Duncan Alex Patterson) and Robert Fripp. The demos were available as a boot titled Orbert and is also recommended. I suspect the same synthesizer and patches were used on FFWD as on Chill Out, as they both reach back into my brain and tickle my amygdala in similar fashion.
