I was recently in a club and ask him if he had any KLF. He said he didn't know who they were...not sure how he can be a DJ and not know this awesome music.
I know and they press a button to get a song instead of going to a record shop and buying vinyl total thrill you could not wait to get home and play it.
The early 90s were the best decade for dance music. I was in my mid 20's and I am 53 and still love this music. It brings back a lot of memories of my clubbing days. I wish we could bring back the 90s again. Awesome song!
Fuck me this takes me back to an age where you just enjoyed yourself and everybody was more than happy with each other and didn’t give anybody any shit! I miss those times. 🙁

@@karlwinter6843You're wrong and you're right. What Time Is Love appeared in 1988. That's the original version, also known as"Deep Trance". However the track was remade in a very different version and released again as a single in 1999. That's this version in the video, the 1990 remake. The 1990 version is really pretty different. It keeps.most of the original synth, instrumental music but puts the BPM up slightly and adds a whole rap on top (by K Boy D) There was no rapping whatsoever on the original 88 version. This rerelease did much
90's music will never be replaced or forgotten by those who raved threw it!! This should be the first tune played by any DJ!!! If you rocked the 90's you know!! China White's + rave music feel the love x
Absolute classic. Forget Calvin Harris crap! These guys were the real deal... 4 tracks and see you later. Up your's to the music industry. They were independent.
They weren't independent, actually, though they liked to pretend that they were. Bill Drummond worked for Stock, Aitken and Waterman before The KLF; so strictly speaking, The KLF belong to the same family tree as Kylie.
Brendan Glover There’s a lot from back then that still sounds as fresh today. Future Sound of London, Orb, Prodigy. The list is endless. Miss those days.
This song is just relentless and doesn't let you recover. Just mashes your head and makes sure you stay that way to the end. Still awesome all these years later.
what does that even mean? if they released this today it wouldn't even get noticed. it fitted the time it came from - and yes it still pumps, but... only because we remember.
I love that I can learn something new (or old) at anytime. I've listened to this song for years (often while running) and have always thought they shouted, "Get up and dance, motherfuckers!" It wasn't until I watched Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon and saw "Kick Out the Jams" listed in the credits that I made the connection. I Googled "Kick Out the Jams", played the song, read the Wikipedia entry for the song and learned that, duh, what is played at the beginning of this song is KLF's sample from MC5, "And right now... right now... right now it's time to... kick out the jams, motherfuckers!" Just acknowledging that I'm late to the party on this one but it was fun to learn nonetheless.
I still have this on audio cassette. Still kicks today as it did in 91. Soooo far ahead. If this was released today they'd be classed as genuine geniuses, game changers. 30 years ahead of their time.
If this was released today it would still be ignored by the mainstream media while the masses would be playing it non stop and turning their radios and tellys off.
Yeah! We will be having underground "illegal" raves at higher planes of existence, after humanity ascends. :D BTW. It's interesting how The KLF knew about illuminati and how those conspiracies are exposing nowadays more and more.. . They also knew more about meaning of time, I guess. Just because of this track. What time is love? NOW. I say NOW because there is only NOW. Time is illusion and exists only at lower levels. While humanity is awakening and rising.. time looses it's meaning. Ask from just about any spiritual guru or teacher. :)
technology has evolved, today's synthesizers have 10,000 more possibilities than back then, plug-ins on computers are endless, and the creators still can't achieve fantastic pieces like this one
In 1989 i was twenty yo,and i m living then near of Trieste in Italy. This material crusing all day and night on every broadcasting station in italy. .The basic of trance music, always to listen
I have this on tape, and still have the pencil to wind it in when it comes loose. Old heads know what I'm talking about. This was a banger. Used to listen to this when I was like 12-13
I am 49 and never heard this until today. Not sure how it was missed, but how great to hear an old song that is so familiar to me. Wish I had heard it 30 years ago.
Holy shit! I just hear today first time in my life and is just like the rithms of street rage on the mega drive. I just love it! Sooo retro, but soooo much good.
I remember with DJ Mike Knowler dropped this in at the Quadrant Park, the place erupted and the place nearly fell down with everyone dancing. Thanks for the old school days.
Yes on Scottish island to show money has no value. It would've still shocked today. Like when the idiot Simon Brodkin who threw money at Sepp Blatter. Appropriate in the era it happened. Before it's time anti capitalist statement
@@John-hq5sc No they aren't worth anything, last I heard they were going to press the ashes into a brick and auction it. There was no bank official present on the Isle of Jura when they burned the money, watch the documentary and it explains it there.
Bet they regret that now! Regardless, the gesture was worth it at the time, although I could never help thinking they could have done something more constructive with it and still made a statement.
Arrrr great memory! My 1st night club experience in Perth EXIT nite club. This was the song that was kicking when I walk in with the cool older cousin & his mates. I was only 16!!!
I never understood what happened to hip-house, just came and went, jungle brothers let me house you was another and young mc, it works well, but a strange mini era that just disappeared
If it wasn't for the evolution and innovation of 1991, 92. 93, dance music would have experienced the popularity in now enjoys. Damn this is a crazy, acid infulled track, LOVE IT!
Killin it in 1991. Props to Bingo Players for pulling out this old skool track and into their Hysteria Radio set. Made me want to hunt it down. And of course it's from my youth... old school acid house is the best.
***** It's trance, but not the trance you are thinking of. The KLF created a new genre. This tune is regarded as one of if not the first ever trance tunes. Was that not supposed to happen? Anyone can create a new sound..
Late 80s 90s rave, white label, fantasier 🤣 nothing will beat that music era! Social media has made it hard to even find music you like, too much to look through!!!
