You know I've seen this great band several times and to my dismay have never seen it done live. Thank you for posting this great Knack song! It pretty much was my theme song as a teen-ager. RIP Doug, and thank you for the music!
@RecordWarped It's really nice to interact with a true Knack fan! Unfortunately I never seen the band perform Can't Put a Price on Love live, but you are correct, that is a great song! I first saw the Knack in October of 1979, when they were HUGE! I was lucky enough to see them nearly ten more times over the years. I love this band and I was able to meet them also, truly very nice and friendly guys. Check out their rendition of Hard Day's Night on youtube, it's phenomenal from 1979 in NY.
Could never understand all the hatred/backlash for the Knack back in the day (especially from other power-poppers). I'm guessing a lot of it was petty jealousy. Always enjoyed the Knack immensely and was even a member of their fan club.
The Knack were simple, in the sense that they loved The Beatles, and didn’t see themselves as above, or better than this music. As punk broke into the United States around this time, there started to grow this prevailing attitude that The Beatles were passé. The Knack in imagery, sound, (in nearly every way) resembled purposefully The Beatles
God. I am getting into this guys. And these guys ended their career playing in Epicot Center? How depressing. Doug should’ve been regarded as the John Lennon of America.
this was performed at walt disney world? the song is so undisneylike. it's a hormone-driven, borderline misogynistic anthem. a wet dream set to music. walt must be rolling over in his grave....
