Now back when you made the first video I did the pre order thing and put my email in the comments of the order and never heard anything back if you happen to see this AVE that would be awesome or if anyone else knows what I missed
I told myself if these were less than $1860 I would buy one, so you can imagine my heartbreak when I saw the price of $1865. I thought all was lost, but then I saw the sale! How generous of you! These are seriously awesome and I will definitely be picking one up for myself!
Flashback. I put some serious effort in and really wanted my Canberra B-57 model to come out nice. Dad ran over it as he pulled into the driveway as the paint was drying. Just a tip, if you run over your kid's plastic model, go buy him another one. Cuz if you don't, he'll probably slightly resent it forever.
I found AvE during a tough time in my life and his humour and no-nonsense attitude pulled me up. I remember binge watching him and laughing for the first time in ages. The price is a little high (as expected for something so skookum), but having a physical reminder of all the laughs and wisdom is worth many times the price.
Just ordered one. Never have i felt compelled to purchase anything from any RU-vidr, ever. AvE, thank you for keeping the masses entertained and gettin us learnt
Re: Screwing I teach 50/90/100 when using a lot of fasteners on a product. Get all fasteners to 50% to ensure they all fit, then 90%(finger tight) for final adjustments, then 100% or three ugga dugga's depending on your fancy.
I just bought one. As an Australian, NOW I can truly say, with conviction "that's not a knife. THIS is a knife" Cant wait for it to arrive!! Thanks uncle Bumblefuck!! Thanks for the many years of entertainment also!
@@billpetersen298My favorite is the absurdly expensive gardening gloves she just has to have that I find blown up against the fence many times over the summer.
Think its around 150€ to Finland, after price+tax+postage+customs+tax again (including tax to the customs and postage and tax of the other countrys tax) Ordered the 69€ LTT screwdriver and it was 130€ all in all
Order placed! Looking forward to the assembly and life long use! Thank you for your videos! They have accompanied me through many stages of my life. I appreciate your honesty and entertainment! My family all quote phrases we learned from you!
Been daily driving mine at work for a bit now, Love it!! Rocked a Lutz 82 for years, This is so much better and rides silent and skinny in my utility pocket. Im happy to have a tool that will help us both. Good luck in all future endeavors.
I noticed the mention of Grimsmo too, have a Rask in my pocket. Just placed an order for one of these, I tend to be pretty selective on what the Rask blade comes in contact with.
If there's a man i love in youtube is AvE and thats coming from my heart sir! No matter what you do its your voice and idiom tham makes it great! It always warm my heart to have your company even vicariusly! I would buy one but Felco prunerns are my niche ;)
well designed knife, very well presented, and absolutely well deserved brother. greetings from austria from a big fan that never commented ever on any videos, but always enjoyed silently your cool content… looking forward to get mine in 12 days 🙏
In one of your videos, you pulled out a knife and said "This is the second most dangerous tool in the shop" or something to that effect. I took that to mean the user of the knife was the most dangerous. Stuck with me. Now this most dangerous tool in the shed is going to have a beautiful second most dangerous tool in my shop!
Waiting for mine to arrive. I wish they had something to denote that they came from the great AvE. Thanks. I sure I’ll be watching again when it’s assembly time. Have a great week.
Skookum as frig! Can’t wait to assemble it! Being a crazy wood elf myself eeeeevery coworker and tradesperson about has got the yellow olfa stuffed in their bags or tucked in the back pocket. I’ll show them what a proper finger end remover is suppose to look like!
Oh man beautiful, I 3d printed a plastic knife handle recently, used the mirror function to make it left handed. Can't wait to grow up and be able to metal 3d print a version. Also when you anodize titanium electrically you can choose the colour based on the voltage you use. Blue gold red etc, there is a entire chat you can follow. A electroplating brush a 0-80v DC power supply anyone become a artist.
I don't even need box cutters too often in my shop but with the savings that could be had I ordered two and saved over 17,000 Canadian doll hairs. Thank you my Quebexican friend!
Ordered! Don't want to be caught with my pants down and they sell out... Thanks to Ave and this community for making kewl shite and not just putting it on the internet- but making it available for the community too...cheers
It looks more like jewelery...I like my tools to be junk so that I can treat them like shit and not feel like an idiot when I use them as a makeshift prybar or just lose the dang things. Would make a.nice fidget toy, I suppose. My 20 year old $6 Smith and Wesson folder makes as good of a box opener as any.
This will go great with my Teale Designs fastback. It's a $150 or so dollar folding box cutter, but in the Truck/Automotive industry I use that thing every day, and picking up that hunk of solid titanium and flicking it open makes me smile EVERYTIME.
It seems like importing a good quantity of blades to the UK would be a lot easier than doing another run of a modified design. olfa is german, i would think you could get them from Europe
@@ChristinaK1024 olfa is Japanese and I can get blades here they're just less available in shops. I prefer the smaller blades. It's no problem,it's just a thought. It wouldn't be a big job to downsize the drawing on CAD.
Forked out some fine American Doll Hairs yesterday and can't wait for the ol' shipment to arrive! I've never purchased from a youtuber before, but we've been watching your channel for years and HAD to get this when I saw it was for sale!
Awesome! It's great to see you again and spreading the wealth by shipping projects people can finish, to have a little DNA in the build. Anything you make, design or assemble just feels a little nicer than something you just buy.
I find myself jobless due to games industry happenings, but I’ve ordered one just the same. I’ve had most other things and this kind of warms my heart. You bring me joy, sir. Least I can do.
Ordered before I was 2 minutes in. The entertainment and life lessons here are priceless. This kanif is a bargain. Once the sanding is complete and the blade action is where I want it, the screws get the blue loctite.
What a great time to be alive when guys can sell beautiful bespoke tools like this on the internet. I'd impulse buy one for sure if I didn't have to go under the knife soon but hopefully there's some left by the time I've got the beer fund back up to capacity. Thanks for all the cool shit over the years!
Been following for a some friggin time, i'm a painter and I use those cheap little itty bitty versions of this with snap off blades. And frankly, I like the thin profile of those, but hate the size.
I have carried a razor knife since I first started as an electrician in "96" I started with the tried and true stanley bulky wear holes in your pocket because is sat diagonal wearing the material in two spots. Later I upgraded to a folding razor knife that had a clip to carry in my jean watch pocket when I became a commercial diver . Its biggest problem is one blade two cutting sides and no room for replacement blades. If you add one more modification of a pocket clip to the strong side so every time I reach for it my thumb lands on the blade adjustment I'll buy several. ( rule of thumb when dealing with divers. Buy 5 of everything. Because you use one, you lose one, you break one and you steal one. But I do need the pocket clip so it stays upright in my pocket handy and ready for easy deployment. And for those counting #5 is you always have to have a spare.
BTWs, that piston keychain with the magnet is the cat's balls. Use it to collect little bits of metal out of my Midget and Sprite when I'm working on it, like screws and metal shavings from drilling shit out. Used it dangling on a string to fetch a lock washer that fell into my fan belt pulley because I couldn't find my magnet on a stick. Works great. Right pain the ass on a keychain, but super useful off it.
Dear AVE, some of the more skookum widely available cutters have a strengthened blade sleeve with an extended tip, so if the blade is retracted it could be used as a prybar. Please include a extended fin for prying things apart for a Version 2.0. Will be sure sell one of my kidneys to afford one then.
Honestly, cheaper than I was expecting. Can't put a price on quality. Buy once, cry once. Same as me pocket knife, $150 but I've had it for 10 years now
Clickspring made a proper vijeo on anodizing. You got to put the item in a pile of brass shavings and then heat it up to get that nice uniform coating. And no greasy fingers!!!!!!
I have one. I should have watched this before I built it. It is absolutely not a finished product. But with some love and attention it is genuinely as described. An heirloom piece
I somehow missed this video, so this comment will likely go unseen by Uncle B... But, two thoughts: 1) Belt clip attachment? Just a simple style, doesn't need to be fancy or titanium 😊 2) Would it be useful to omit the very end of the outer metal strip, leaving just the Titanium strip? That way it's like that yellow one, offering a very thin cross section where the blade comes out of, but is still offering some rigidity! I figure with just enough to delete that last screw, should still be enough to prevent flexure in the now exposed and unclamped titanium layer. Bonus, in that the now exposed titanium will be able to show off any thermal coloring we apply! Eeeh?? 👍 or 👎 ?
Need a new one. My Lenox was garbage right off the hop. Got to pry it open to get a blade in. F------ GARBAGE! Was added to my grab list on the next tool run. Perfect timing. Bought and paid for. Im sure it will be a treat. Thanks AVE!
I just checked the doobly due and know I can’t carry a knife from my freedom land to canuckastian and found it ships without the blade. Looks like an heirloom piece of kit. Good job AvE.
How could I NOT order this this piece of Samurai slicing, Titanium toolfookery? Now it seems I have an excuse to buy a benchgrinder to get this thing as smooth as a teflon coated turd. Thanks for all you do Ave!
Thank you from your AB neighbour! For extra bumfuckery, you can heat treat the stainless bits as well. Gives the outer pieces some contrasts to the clean stainless. Got mine put together today, bloody thing of b-e-a-utiy. Pro tip complete sanding of rough edges, assemble, sand assembly, disassemble, heat treat/anodize, then reassemble for silky smooth pieces🤌. Suggest an 80-180-320 grit sequence.
Got mine sat, got an arm in a poker deal so I can assemble it today! It had the marks of industry and Canadian coal fire cut. A little sanding and boom!
Did the dibs, just saw the email went to spam, more reasons to not trust computers! Looks amazing, might have to borrow the shop oven for a cycle on that Ti.
An easier way to get an even color throughout the titanium would be to heat a hot plate of steel, cast iron, etc. and set the titanium on it. Pull off when desired color appears, if not slightly sooner
