Honestly I expected way worse of a mod from the fellas that made man from the fog hope you guys enjoy this type of video, kinda rushed it for i can work on flesh that hates video for saturday
RLCRAFT with The parasite mode with Quite place monsters = The ultimate survival challenge good with friends ( If you want a better Chance at surviving get weapons and armor mods to help And maybe horror mods Too if you want to make it more hard )
He does stalk you by the way, when he spawns outside, like when you saw him on the tree, you moved far enough that he stepped forward a bit. If you make some distance between him, he will start to follow you, if you approach him then he either vanishes or attacks you, I believe he also has a knocking noise that you may not had been lucky to hear. Personally, I would like to hear you do a "Slop or Not" type of "Review" on "The Slumbering Omen" (The one mod where the creatures of that same name poses like one of your french girls)
I think the main issue I have with dweller "horror" mods is that as soon as you have Iron gear or even less, they no longer become a threat. Or the game just becomes infuriating due to constantly being one shot by an asset swap
I still think it'd be cool if horror mods would try to build on what the normal minecraft mobs do. Make them erratic. - Maybe zombies would naturally bang on your doors and damage your windows. Skeletons could do the same or just outright shoot at your windows and doors once or twice? ^ I'd get spooked if a quiet zombie suddenly banged on a door, or if some glass abruptly broke. - Endermen build strange things and change from vibing to stalking you and sometimes staying in the distance. ^ I would be pretty concerned if I saw a setup for something looking like an End Crystal Tower, only to then see a mass of endermen one night looking at me through a window. Bonus points that I look away, hear teleportation, and [rarely] random blocks getting swiped to get placed at said Tower. It's a bit hard to make something that works, if you want to keep it "vanilla playthrough friendly". The other end of the extreme is making it equivalent to another Player in your world that may or may not have malicious intent.
@@SlendHQ Me personally I think a mod that makes the deep ocean more unsettling would be kind of cool. I don't mean like add a sea monster(especially since we already have 'Dark waters' which is an amazing sea monster mod), I mean make the biome itself the main threat.
They need a mod like the updated One Who Watches only the creature gets stronger the longer the game goes on Like when you see the numbers appear in Parasites it’s terrifying especially when you can’t see any because it shows you that they are getting closer and stronger. You need something like that for a Dweller like the OWW
@@SlendHQ Endermen building crosses and then staring at them would be pretty terrifying Like you open the door and just see a bunch of Endermen staring at an upside-down dirt cross in front of your house
@@troubled_boys they also made a mod called “the silence” but tbh i don’t like it nearly as much, as its main mechanic is pretty fucky. But it is unfinished so

This video is the embodiment of this one Mandela Catalogue meme where the camera guy's staring down an alternate at the bottom of a staircase, both with their fists out
Honestly I'd love the idea of a freaky looking mob that JUST opens doors. A creature that opens ways into your home to let far more dangerous threats than itself in. It would be rather wimpy on its own and would probably run away if approached or attacked. I just enjoy the idea of a creature that threatens you in ways other than "oh it just runs at you and hits you". EDIT: As an example imagine you're being chased down by a bunch of mobs, go into your base to hide thinking you're safe, and then all of the sudden you stare out the window to see some goober smile and wave at you as it opens the door to your home letting all the mobs in.
@@bobertastic6541 Mayhaps make it able to slowly break open windows as well. or should no other entrances be available break blocks EXTREMELY slowly, so if it does that you'd have to run out and scare it away.
I really like the idea for this series, contrary to some other commenters. Taking a deep dive into a specific mod and analyzing it closely is interesting. I also think that if you do this with smaller up and coming horror mods you can help boost individual mods and help mod creators make less sloppy stuff. W series
I like your reaction to these "horror" mods is not "OH MY GOD IT'S CAVE DWELLER 1,672!!! AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!". It's a breath of fresh. Keep up the good work, and love all your videos.
him going in your house in that first interaction now makes me want a horror mod (that can double as funny), where whichever main dwella is in the mod can use any other mod that's in your library, so in a vanilla experience, it's more straight suspense, but if you get other mods, it can start chasing you with its own ParCool tricks and slingin Iron's Spells at you. Would be hilarious and fun as hell. But also way way way a lot of work trying to compat it with a lot of mods
The knocker rarely ever bothers me anymore since I got a wall built around my base, I kind of think majority horror mods are barely a threat since I got a tall cobblestone wall around my base. Also guns, I got the touhou little maid mod, which is compatible with timeless and classic guns. So I just run around with three maids with smgs that attack enemies that get near me, the only one that still scares me is the anomaly
@@Beepers559 yeah it's actually really helpful when I'm just wanting to go caving. They're a little slow to fire, so always keep a distance from dangerous mobs until they realize what's happening. Majority of my time is going into caves because I have the eternal winter mod, which makes the surface barely visible due to fog. They also don't use ammo, but from what I see still need it in their inventory, but it saves out on wasting bullets
The knocker seems like it would be a fun little gimmicky enemy in a difficult mod where being out at night is truly dangerous. But that type of horror seems like it is just too hard to pull off in the Minecraft framework.
I think if they removed the cheap pop-up jumpscares it’d be a better mod. Those weren’t in the initial release and tbh the mod was better without it. Overall I give it a 7/10 And tbh he is supposed to knock on your doors and windows, it’s definitely a thing he does
The scariest part about of horror mods is when they change, i vividly remember when From The Fog updated and herobrine could move. The sheer terror i had when this man ran to the side was crazy, but i think it just gets stale over time
Hands down, the greatest horror-ish mod must be The Slumbering Omen. the Upredictable nature of the Omen itself either being friendly, attaxking, stalking, giving a gift, all being high on itself. Chapter-based progression to befriend or slay the Omen, and then deal with the other creatures, etc. etc. Peak Mod.
This dude definitely makes me think of the whole Slendytubbies thing. Sure the face is scary, But when attached to a silly body it's very short-lived. Then again it's at least different from all the spindly limbed dwellers.
Actually really good video. You don't crack down negatively on the mod for being bad and actually give proper feedback, pros and cons and the video is also amusing to watch. keep it up!
ANDY, there's a combination of mods where this guy have a big impact on mess you up, try "zombie aweareness, we got runners, the hordes and enhanced hordes" mods, the knocker's oppening doors mechanic is deadly.
Slop or Not could become the next "Raging Roblox Reviewer" series but for Minecraft! Just saying. 😉 But in seriousness, you should try to test the mod experience by more of "just playing casual MC". I can see why you don't though: Might take some time. I love that the Knocker accidentally ran into the house like he was gonna own it. Dunno what happened for the guy who sunk into the ground, seemed like a bug but not? Would also be hilarious if mods would add a Parcool Compatibility where the entity suddenly starts wall-running and leaping to climb toward you.
Honestly, compared the trash that's littering the workshops, The Knocker is pretty good, it's what you'd expect when playing a kid's horror game, it's not that scary but if I was say 14 playing this I'd probably be pretty spooked.
Fun trick for mobs like (The Knocker and) Villagers that open doors: Place the door sideways so its open and closed states are inverted. This way Mobs like (The Knocker and) Villagers can't enter your house.
Genuine question, not trying to be passive aggressive, what do you think makes a good Minecraft horror mod in your opinion? I'd love to hear your thoughts
I think he needs to make some sort of noise while chasing you. Nothing too crazy, I don’t want super loud screaming like the man from the fog, but complete silence just makes it more goofy imo.
Do you think you could go over that new "in your world" mod? I think its also from the "man from the frog" guy or maybe its the "rrom the frog guy" eother way ove been trying it out and i want to see your ultra super pro Minecraft yt take on it.
I remember once reading that Minecraft horror is hard if not impossible to execute due to Minecraft nature's being adventure and well, having respawn, making anything horror pretty much a visual/audio one trick pony. What do you think?
Nah I think really most things can be scary but the issue is most horror mods don't attempt it. I feel like I've had unnerving feelings while playing minecraft but the issue is the mods always end up ruining any sense of build up or immersion and just send a giant ass screaming thing to 1 hit you and kinda ruin any fear or at the very least will only work once. i feel like having small things and just making build up could go a really far way. like the knocker could have footsteps, actual knocking, breathing but he just kinda tps and does stuff behind the scenes.
@@troubled_boys Not to be negative or anything but the knocker DOES do all the things here, they are just super rare. Ill have to admit him opening and closing doors nonstop get super annoying.
@@sebianca4074 no worries, its nice to hear to that. i did like some things knocker did as well, a bit odd to make it rare though when the door thing gets repetitive real quick
The main issue most horror mods for minecraft have is the lack of any crafting ingredients or useful drops. The best horror mods have a bunch of items and mechanics that affect gameplay.
something not many people know about the knocker, he spawns in peaceful, he does the exact same as any other difficulty, he can kill you, watch you, whatever in peaceful.
they should add a mechanic where the dweller fears the player if attacked enough, and will only watch from a distance (and run if approached], having to wait before it may attack again
I think another good thing they could change is instead of the Knocker constantly opening your door while you're their--maybe have the door randomly be open sometimes if you leave your house for something and come back. Might be a bit unnerving.
One thing I hate about all these slop dwellers is the videos made about them, each boasting about how "THIIIS dweller mod is actually the scariest one!!!", and then the youtubers just advertising the monster in broad daylight in their intro..thats not how horror works. Makes me wonder if there's anything good out there
As someone who doesn't like playing with most horror mods, I actually enjoy playing the game with the Knocker. I have him as part of my singleplayer modpack and I find interactions with him range from being funny to being creepy in a way that makes the mod feel more like an authentic attempt at making a mob that fits into the game than 90% of the horror mods that exist. Obviously it isn't perfect, nor is he particularly "scary" but I like having him in my modpack.
Before watching the video, I'm gonna say it's total slop for sure. I've seen other videos on this thing, and it just stands around for a bit until it decides to rush at you and one-shot you.
have you tried the Box of Horrors mod? it's got a lot of effort put into it and the models are pretty good, my only issue is that i was pretty confused on how to summon a lot of the mobs-- but it'd be cool if you could review them on slop or not! there should be a guide on trello:D
I don't know if he still does it but the knocker will walk into your house while you are in your bed sleeping and walk up to you while holding a torch.
it would be cool if he would rarely start living in you're house and like moving some decorative blocks or opening a door and like randomly apearing in you're house at the edge of you're screen
If the creator ever reads this comment I think the opening of doors should be tied to how often he spawns. The more open doors the more often he will haunt you. Maybe do more damage. Making it necessary to close doors instead of meaningless spook factor
Another horror mod that opens doors is From the Fog (not to be confused with the Man From the Fog), a Herobrine mod. Granted, Herobrine doesn't directly try to kill you, but it counts for something.
Honestly I still consider in my world one of the better horror mods mostly just because of how eerie it is. Knocker’s actually not horrid either since it doesn’t screech at you like a majority of other dwellers (at least at the time of writing this I haven’t seen it do a screamer)
do you by any chance know the name of the mod that makes you lay down when "dead" and let you get revived, the one you use in quite a few of the clips? it looks interesting
the ones i've used are "Hardcore Revival" and "PlayerRevive". both do the same thing but with like different negatives/positives, so i guess read which one might fit best
