I am a huge fan of Tavian, but in fairness every Ohio recruit probably feels they deserve an Ohio St offer right away, but I feel we all need to step back and look at the big picture at the time. As a loyal fan of the Buckeyes, I remember early in the 2025 recruiting cycle Ohio St was focused on another Ohio QB in Ryan Montgomery ( btw as a side note its surprising how the Ohio St beat did not freak out about losing a good Ohio QB, reminding everyone that its not always the case we have to get every Ohio recruit ) so in fairness to Ohio St there is just the possibility that the coaches were focused on getting Ryan, in the beginning of the recruiting cycle and in no way ignoring Tavian. on a more big picture note, as we can all see, everything work out and extremely proud we have Tavian in the 2025 class, but I just feel as OSU fan buckeye nation freaks out to much if a Ohio player does not get an offer right away when it could be the coaching staff was evaluating another Ohio player or its a kid like McNutt who honestly just wants to go some where else. At the end of the day we should just focus on BEST players ( in or outside of Ohio) who acrually want to play for Ohio St and they are a great fit for the football scheme and culture. Also, in the age of NIL and national social media and exposure we should all be realistic and have expection that everyone is going to be recruited nationally. For example we just saw Texas native Dakorian Moore go to Ohio so all states lose player that come from the state. Its not just a Ohio St issue please keep that in mind.
