It's not often that I can offer you an Altair IV planet tour. 3D artist Robert Bertie gained a lot of inspiration from the Forbidden Planet movie and managed to 3D model most of the iconic scenes that used to be static matte paintings in the 1956 movie. Check out his work here:
/ @robert-brydson-1
It's incredible how much work went into all of this and am honored and pleased to give you a tour while adding my own music. The scenes involve the arrival, mansion, study and - obviously - the ancient Krell machines. I am sure you're familiar with Krell patches, but it adds a new dimension to see moving images that started it all, without violating any MGM copyrights.
I used a bit of AI generation at the beginning to show you that AI still has to come a long way compared to the human skill of 3D modeling by hand. I am sure AI will be able to generate models and render scenes in a near future, but when it doesn't know about Altair IV, it's unlikely it can to a good job visualizing it. Robert Bertie's work stays really faithful to the original vision of the movie and I hope you'll enjoy the tour.

I see the nod to Robert K’s other creation in Morbius’s radio set: the chest panel from Robot B9.

I LOVE your video - I don't know where how why but I have always loved the film. I am 60 Australian. I tried to reply to your email but it brought me to RU-vid, I tried to send you a pic of the C-57D interior I am making now, now I feel like we are conversing in public. The video for that is going to be ages away. I am curious,, did you miss my "KRELL LAB" video ? - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pRUw1QXegWM.html

I missed a few more things I am afraid. I needed to keep the video around 10 minutes. I wish I'd used that video where you show the modeling environment and add a bit of video of how I made some new sounds. I am so happy you like how it turned out, since the material used is all yours and I just 'borrowed' it. But as you can see in the comments below, many, many people share the love for this movie and you gave them a trip down to memory lane. My email is cinematiclaboratory at outlook dot com and I am sorry we had to chat in public. Looking forward to see the internal spaceship shots and thanks for letting me share this.

That was absolutely awesome! I was really disappointed when the video abruptly (so it felt to me) stopped. Both you and Bertie are really good at what you do. Magnificent!

I also wished Mr. Bertie would have made a special edition for the whole movie, like Star Wars with improved special effects.

Every "AI" shot is the exact same slow pan from left to right or right to left, with a slight change in depth of field. Try and do Robbie the Robot fighting the Id monster with swords.

I‘m speechless, overwhelmed, mindblown, baffled, mesmerized and in awe, because I would die for just a few high-res wallpapers I could use on my desktop. I saw this movie as a child and a hundred times again. It‘s my most favorite SF-movie of all time. Your work is unbelievably beautiful.❤

hanks for such a faithful, wonderful tribute! Superb work! But I wish you had dwelt in the entrance to the mansion more. I always loved the fish sculpture, and wanted one for myself!

not that there is anything wrong with the music in this video, I was just very surprised you did not make it, because I can imagine you would do a very good job of it.

WOW, verdammt nochmal, WOW. I've been admiring this epic movie (which doubles Shakespeare's "Tempest" in a way) since I've seen it for the first time, back in the 1970s on black&white tv screen. Even so, I was just blown away by the images and by the soundtrack, let alone the plot. Ah, in the gorgeous "remake" you show here, I am also missing the "Prospero's" daughter, which also happened to blow me mind away back then :-) Thanks you for sharing!

Maybe the Krell weren't destroyed, but merely evolved into the Q from Star Trek TNG?

Forbidden Planet remains the most impressive dealing with "scale" in cinema. Only other time I was impressed in a similar way was in the 2005 Hitchhikers Guide movie. Great work you've accomplished here! Congratz!

Well, if you consider Shakespeare a B-movie storyrteller, fine. The plot is tightly after Shakespeare's "The Tempest".

@@aljen9611 Apart from the fact that you can also shoot a B-movie from any great play: There is a difference between „a plot“ and „the play“.
