Jens, Uwe, and Joel continue to amaze and inspire. I've always thought of the banjo as a very "orchestral sounding" instrument, but it has become so strongly associated with bluegrass and rural America that not many people do. It is incredible to see the Kruger Brothers and The Kontras Quartet realize these possibilities with such grace, aptitude, and creativity.
I love Bluegrass and Classical music. I never imagined that I would hear them both at the same time and love it! Hearing this for the first time was worth the trip to Silver Dollar City.
I heard them (without the quartet) perform this piece at DelFest in Cumberland, Maryland, May 2014. I had to walk away from Hot Rize on the main stage to hear the Kruger Brothers in the music hall, which hurt me, but this music is so magnificent. I had heard them the summer before at RockyGrass, and so I knew I wanted more. As they played we could look outside and see the Appalachian Mountains high, rolling, and green right there. Such a beautiful experience.
Well you've done it now I'm going to have to dig out some of my compositions for string quartet and Tenor banjo. The trouble is I hope I can find them I wrote most of them in school back in the early 60's -- Well you've given me a challenge. Eddy Davis "The Manhattan Minstrel"
Hey, where are the music scores for Jens, Uwe, & Joel? Oh, I get it, how silly...can't even imagine what goes thru each of their heads! Such great talent.
Woooooow!!!! Whenever I feel the need for some inspiration I look up some Kruger Bros videos or music and relax. I get back in step in very short order. Thank you for sharing your talents.
A really remarkable and inspiring piece of music. A dream come true watching the concert in a whole video. Thanks for sharing and PLEASE come to South America!!
