Things abt itzy that people never get is they will NEVER follow the trend. They do things so so different. other than that, they were unproblematic, they are very kind, humble and funny. their teamworks are also very strong. its what makes itzy outstanding between other 4th gen for me. Gold is such a great song.
I was more confused at first listen, I didnt hate it, but I was just confused by what had just happened in my ears. But the more I listened to it the past few days, the more I love it. Like I agree with you, it's low-key one of their best titles, I honestly think that entire first section is sooo good. And that whole "Ayyyy ayyy ayyy" part hits soooo good. And the choreo? 10/10 all round in my very biased opinion. Love having Lia back too
i want to say it's the mv, i like it but at the same time there's a lot happening and there's ALSO a lot happening in the song, because i too was very confused and it took me a minute to get into the song. listening to it solo and watching the dance practice while listening helped me a lot and now i love it :)

You've described it so well. ITZY has done lots of conceptual comebacks and tracks and that is probably the reason why people are confused about what their "concept" really is. Thing is, ITZY is ITZY's concept. Their concept is themselves. I really enjoyed this song and I love the whole album! The whole album slaps! I love how detailed you reacted to this video and how you incorporate some film and set technicalities in your video.
as an art person (an architect by profession) it amazes me how music can seem all over the place on the first listen then after the next listens it binds together and it sounds smoother
I always viewed ITZY as a hype group with powerful songs like DALLA DALLA & WANNABE which introduced their bountiful energy and youth. Like adrenaline. The past few comebacks were lukewarm for me but nonetheless, okay. Until now. GOLD brings back that epic-ness that ITZY encompasses. So I'm overjoyed the direction that they're heading. It's like, welcome back old, new ITZY!!!

i got this song on the first listen i was sooo impressed by it and the music video and everything about it, the vocals the instrumental, the dancing just soooo good, itzy has never disappointed me, and this whole album is such a banger too!!
Gold is so good omg, 1st listen I was so shocked on what I heard lol but even on the 2nd listen it just started making sense. And now a few days after I love it even more. I just love when a song grows on me naturally, it really makes the song never seem to get old, compared other songs that I like first listen tend to do for me haha. The production was INSANE and the stages are fantastic, I’m so happy with ITZY’s direction recently I hope they keep this up! 😊
i'm personally not that big on the song but the mv AND the stages are awesome. definitely one of those songs that works better with a performance version for me

I'm so glad you liked this track/MV. I had just read a review that dumped on it only minutes before you released this video. It was a bit awkward on the first listen but it had me grooving by the end of the first chorus. It changed up a lot but the percussion helps hold everything together. This song has been stuck in my head since it released three days ago. It's almost as if it's "a repeat of my favorite song" 🤔
Born To Be album is SOLID! GOLD album slaps too! tbh I didn’t get GOLD at first listen but by second listen it was coming together and I was locked in 3rd listen. What I do know is GOLD will go HARD in concert just like all of ITZY’s songs when performed on stage! ITZY is meant to be experienced LIVE!
Breaking new ground is really the way to put it, not just the mv, the comeback itself. It’s always refreshing and admirable to see established artists experimenting AND bearing fruits from it.
The album is incredible, also this comeback is a double titlestrack one. So they're coming out with the MV for Imaginary Friend in a couple of weeks which should be really exciting! Cuz the song is amazing.

When I saw the BTB final versions were included on the album I was so happy because it shows how respected and valued Lia’s vocals are. Now it feels complete. However the 4 piece did such a good job and the actual songs were excellent, I guess people grew to love them and now have to get used to a new version.

This kind of song that I like to listen most, I'm sure I enjoying it while performing this in a concert while shouting and screaming. Gold album is my favorite for now replacing Crazy In Love now its 2nd favorite. For me the best music video the cinematography and creativity so amazing. ITZY is the Only Kpop that I like. They dont afraid to try different genre. They are talented and kind people.

This song and M/V certainly hit me like dynamite with the fast beat, quick tempo changes it seemed a bit chaotic. Fused with the lush visuals and many facets switching back and forth it was a bit much to take in. However I listened to the Audio only a few times now I absolutely love the song. And now I can watch the M/V without getting overwhelmed. The more you watch the better it gets. ITZY fighting ❤
I feel like Itzy hasn't really FELT like Itzy for a long time, and I was just waiting for that moment where I was reminded of the reason I fell in love with them from the very beginning, this was that moment for me, GOLD just felt so unapologetically Itzy !!

I thought BTB is their best album thus far and then came Gold. Seriously, they get better each time. Gold grows on me, and the B sides from Gold are all A+!!!

I struggled with Gold at first, but I find a lot of Dem Jointz tracks take a bit to sink in with me and then I end up loving them. I wouldn’t say I love Gold (I still think the final chorus needs a bit more something to it to end the song on a high note), but it’s definitely grown on my substantially since I first listened to it. It’s definitely way better than people make it out to be online, even if it isn’t their strongest title track. That said, as an overall album they really hit the mark with this one. And I’m obsessed with Imaginary Friend and am excited to see how they promote that one as a double title track. So for me a successful comeback overall!
If you watch the 'GOLD MV BEHIND' on ITZY youtube channel. They didnt use much CGI. It was all practical effects and stage design. The budget for the MV must've been very high. Its a very well done MV.
