Ok, so even as I write this from the grave as a Moonbyul stan, I can say Wheein and Solar killed me too. And there is never not blood on Hwasa's hands. Basically, stan Mamamoo it's good for your health.

Gogobebe is a song dedicated to the fans and as well an homage to Kim Gun Mo 'Zzanga' like you said; for those who don't know him: he is a South Korean singer-songwriter, who is considered the country's most successful musical artist of the 1990s. His 1995 album, Wrongful Encounter, holds the Guinness World Record for the best-selling album of all time in South Korea. We find a lot od references to the 80', old computer, mobile phone, the tv and some outfits. Each Mamamoo's member is dressed using the color of a previous album (Solar-Melting, Moonbyul-Pink funky, Wheein-Piano Man and Hwasa-Purple) in the teaser pictures too they played a lot with important dates for Mamamoo and MooMoos (their fandom). Gogobebe is also called 9966, in particular their debut date the 6th month on the 19th day (‘619’) and backword wittily express ‘9/6’ the first encounter with fans adding reminisce meaning to lyrics, plus the 9/6 619 theory about working 9 hours a day 6 days a week since debut (june 19) 9966. With this song Mamamoo encourage listeners to leave the daily stresses of smartphones, throw away annoying things and stuffy work clothes to shamelessly have fun and drink away their pain, In the pre-chorus they sing "It's okay to not be fine". The MV run perfectly with the lyrics, we watch the members leave a cramped office space and an incessantly buzzing phones for shopping and turning a book club meeting into a house party. Solar and Moonbyul wrote the lyrics with Kim Do Hoon, he is one of the CEO of Mamamoo company. This man made the most hit songs in SK and he has been producing songs for over 12 years. Look at these beautiful lyrics "I didn’t change in a day Don’t try to make sense out of something little, punk Ugh, unnecessary antipathy I never pushed you Aigo aigo" "Look up the here Focus focus focus I’m my subject Ignore nagging, mute, click click beep It’s like this and that, don’t say yes or no People who talk a lot in movies always die first So raise your self-love"

PD you're actually right! "Gogobebe' is an homage to Kim Gun Mo's "Zzanga". He is listed as a composer on the song. Gogobebe uses the "jijibebe" line from his song as a motif for the lyrics and melody. Thats how he took part in the song/approved of it.

i prefer gogobebe way over wind flower. i guess i'm more the type for a good up-beat song. looking at the MV and their performances they seem to also enjoy it, which is always a plus. and i may add: i have no shame while writing this, but hwasa is like...my eyes are always on her and especially on her legs.

You bringing up Kim Gun Mo makes me want to go back and watch his epic collaboration with 2ne1 on SBS Gayo Daejun 2009 or 2010, it was one of those two. He has such a recognizable voice and he was a legend in the 90s. For the new to kpop listeners, he's definitely worth digging deeper into.

While listening to the album you will get the cosmic girl's bop, quirky aze gag-ish song, sad breakup ballad, Wheein's honey voice song, trap in-our-face song by cosmic girl as well and outro What else do you want from a kpop album, right?

my favorite MV is Um Oh Ah Yeah. in general in Kpop. not just Mamamoo MV's. and the rock version of Gogobebe is my favorite Kpop song.

Moonbyul and Solar did it, a song for strict studiants and workaholics to go party!! Gogobebe so those people dont become those rude people that behave like that because they r angry gogobebe and to be more open-minded. Did you see the live version? Luved it! 😍 My fave (and I think first MV I saw) is Pianoman. The attention to detail makes them able to pull it of and the jazzy sound sets them apart. This video I think looks more simple but I feel has the same attention to detail and probably references I miss. They seem warped back to the 90s, with the big phone. The low ceiling must have some sort of meaning. Maybe how uncomfortable a workplace can be (/was) for working women? Just a guess, but I feel it gives a big girlpower vibe, like now we can do anything.
