hey PD, did you know that Lee Soo Man had this song together with Rookie and Russian Roulette? It was a song prepared since 2016, but he said back then the girls weren't ready to pull it off, which is why they released Russian Roulette and then Rookie afterwards. It’s showing a rollercoaster a lot in the MV and I see it as the ups and downs! The I wanna say “trap” part is going down and the “happy” part is going up and at the end they both mix and that’s when rollercoasters do the most right before they stop!

Zimzalabim drives home why Red Velvet is one of my favourite groups, if not my most favourite. Red Velvet are both versatile and unique: Zimzalabim sounds better and better with each listen. Brilliant trippy, MV combines with an edgy, quirky song that takes you out of your comfort zone. Reminds me a little of Dumb Dumb and Red Flavour. This is indeed one rollercoaster of a song. I also love Wendy's soaring vocals in the bridge backed by the rapid drumming, and how the vocal bridge with it's soft harmonies offers such fresh divergence from the grinding, synthy bass that precedes it.

Zimzalabim honestly screams Red Velvet. When you hear this song, you immediately think it's a RV track (without recognizing the voices).

While zimzalabim isn’t my favorite red velvet song, it grew on me after the fifth listen. I love the happiness vibes and the way they showcased the girls’ vocals in the prechorus! The only part that I don’t like is the drone sound in the background, but that’s just personal taste.

I love it... that's it, I don't have much else to say. People just missed the point, if it doesn't divide you it is not a red velvet song. PS I heard that Lee Soman had this song since Russian roulette era but he said RV wasn't ready for it yet

zimzalabim is so good and very experimental. it took me two listens to really get into it but i love it now. the whole album is a bop, and very different and experimental in sound. you gotta do an album listening party.

The verses of this song sound so much like red velvet song, and of course the chorus is something they never did before but that's the fun thing about red velvet, almost always they try something a bit different, something new and experimental so you never know what to expect of their songs and I love it.

What you were saying about Red Velvet's experimentalism is SO TRUE. Their whole concept is based on changing it up and challenging musical and visual norms. They made that abundantly clear by following up Bad Boy (which attracted a helluva lot of 'bandwagon' fans interested in the sound they went for there) with Power Up. You never know what you're going to get with them and that's why I love them so much - it's exciting being their fan, because you're always going to get something new and crazy but ultimately still fun and catchy and an absolute bop. Even Power Up, which is probably my least favourite RV title track, goes hard and makes me so happy to listen to. I agree with you wholeheartedly about RV being the most experimental group in kpop - they're not afraid to push boundaries and change things up, and that's why I stan them and love Zimzalabim :)
