@@cherrycheol3870 he didn’t. If you watch multiple line distribution videos then you can see it’s Jeonghan. The one you watched confused Jun's lines in the bridge and thought it was The8 as well. I watched that one too and got confused so I saw more and they all said Jeonghan was first ☺️
i feel like this title song lyrics relates a lot to you right now. they want to tell you its alright to take a rest sometimes :) take the advice from your favourite group
i rly want to write the meaning of the whole album, the concept and why did svt makes this song to pd but damn i don't think they can see it?? its been a long long time since my comment get noticed and everytime i write something under the video (not just pd's but every video that ive watched here in yt) didn't get notice and has 0 like, i don't rly mind bout the likes though cus that was not my intentions, i only comment when i rly want to say something to the person (PD) but 🥺🥺🥺 sigh rip to my luck i guess
I personally was really surprised about Minghao's lines. I found them more challenging. He used a vocal range that I've never heard from him before and I thought it was super dope. Btw love you PD
interesting fact about home;run is that it got the best/fairest line distribution of the 13 members among all svt title tracks ;;__;; everyone got their time to shine~~
Ikr? I'm rlly happy but smh feel the irony. Why can't they just divide fairly from the beginning? But anyways, I know woozi would always try to place them in their fairest place
honestly I never worry about line distribution in seventeen songs. I just have the feeling that if this song you don't get as much lines, the next song you have. Also, one song Jun is centre, another song Wonwoo is centre, another song S.coups get the killing part, and etc etc. A song only has 3 to 4 minutes, if every song divide evenly to 13 members I think it's not as fun. I like that they take turns to be centre in different songs. Actually that's also one of the things I like about Seventeen . :)
"Take a break, there's a long journey ahead of you." The fact that your favorite group released an album named semicolon which is a simble of hope againts suicide and psychologic diseases, when you are having a hard time is insane, it's a real present. We're glad you're back PD!!!
As Vernon once told Seungkwan "STOP APOLOGISING FOR THINGS YOU DON'T HAVE TO APOLOGISE FOR!" We love you PD stay strong my man and keep pushing through! You're a legend.
line distribution wise, this is their best era. jeonghan got the most lines, too :) as a jeonghan bias who adores ot13 this era makes me so happy and this song instantly became one of my favorites
As Seventeen is a big source of comfort for me especially during this turbulent year of 2020, I'm glad you start the video by expressing that you want to start getting to work by watching their video + listen to their music...If Henggarae and Left and Right made me cry with its message, I feel like Semicolon & Home;Run is the fuel that I need to get through my daily life and to remember to take care of myself
0:20 I don’t think u have to apologize for anything... I’m glad to see u again but I really wasn’t upset abt your break and I wouldn’t have been if it had been longer🤍 Now let’s get ittt
Someone might need to hear this but i would like to also say that this album tells you that it's okay to take a break/rest (semicolon) after your long journey. Seventeen wants to deliver that message to carats.
I mean the great thing about svt is that they don’t stick to one specific genre like most Kpop groups do, yet they still have that “seventeen sound” to their songs. I’m sure they will make comeback with darker vibe in future and I’m here for everything they do
Actually it's the opposite. Most kpop groups try every single genre as "concepts" and don't stick to one sound. Groups that only have an specific sound are super rare and it doesn't last long cause they end up giving in to the kpop "concept" and start trying every genre. Take SNSD, TVXQ, Super Junior, f(x), Oh My Girl, B1A4, Twice, Red Velvet, A pink, etc. The only group I can think has a consistent sound was Infinite before they ditched sweetune. Maybe Dreamcatcher, they still have rockish sound but even they have been mixing it with trap.
Pd: Woozi missing in the entire video -Woozi : *making song almost the end* , "wait i dont have any part . Lemme put my part at the end of the song "AHAHAHAH
It's okay if you apologize for taking a break but I don't think that you needed to. It's okay to take a hiatus brief or long to refocus, it's normal to have bad moments, the thing is that we are all here to support you and your familie, friends and else are here too. So don't forget that you're not alone PD. ;) (also sorry for my english)
I literally became a Carat a few weeks ago, I can't believe that I have not been stanning these boys for years. They are so fucking talented, in every way imaginable! Best decision ever to become a Carat!!! :)
@@marina599 hahaha ..it's ok .. that's normal..ot13 is best option , cos you won't have any conflicts with yourself about ur bias ..at the end everyone is biaswrecker . This is how I deal with it ..hehehe
same i knew them few months ago and regretted that i did not know them earlier. And yeah everyday my bias is changing so i gave up, everyone is my bias.
When I think about the situation you were in only a short time ago and the fact that Seventeen's current album is called semicolon and the meaning of the semicolon, it just makes me tear up, it just seems to kinda fit this particular moment. It's like a sign, as if you're truly made for each other, supporting one another, even when so far apart.
Do not apologize for this reaction. You have no idea how much less lonely you make me feel when you express your true feeling as a fan to seventeen. Stay safe, stay health!
I'm so happy you're back, PD. Hope you're feeling much better! When Semicolon came out, I immediately thought of you. I'm thinking of how much you might like the full EP because the vibe is just *chef's kiss*
Don't ever apologize for being down, sad or depressed ! Just take take your time to get better, do things that you like and be with people you love ! If doing this vid helps you, i'm happy to watch it and give you the support you need, but don't force you for us, we will be ten times happier see you happy than not to ! *sorry for my english
I have been watching your reactions for years! Your videos are one of the most sincere and thoughtful reactions in the kpop community and that is way better than “fun” overreactions by people who barely care about the music they’re listening to. Take care of yourself.
thank you so much pd! no need to apologize! we all go through dark times & you are not obliged to do everything at once or give your 100% in everything if you don’t feel like it. seventeen has always talked about the importance of taking a break & looking after ourselves in their music. that’s why it’s called semicolon-it’s meant to a be a momentary pause ♡
Home run really gave me the reminiscent vibes of their older title tracks like very nice, mansae, and boom boom, it reminded me of that really funky upbeat feeling they used to have, and I’m really glad for this comeback, it made me soooo happy that seventeen came back with such an awesome song with a great message, along with me being able to remember how happy I was previous years listening to their older songs! Happy that you’re feeling better too PD, as seventeen says in homerun it’s ok to be yourself, you have a lot of people who love your videos and appreciate the content you make, you don’t need to apologize although we are all grateful that you did :)
PD you don't have to apologize for lacking content. You deserve all the rest that you need. Sending all the uwus, and note Jeonghan has the most lines ♥️
This year has been REALLY retro with 60s, 70s and 80s and im REALLY vibing with it. The brass, piano and vogue inspires are SO good. Dynamite, Monster, Pporapimpam, Cool, We Ride, Dingga and now this. Twice is coming through with it especially. Regardless, I'm excited for a LOT of comebacks this year and thankfully in 2020, we can look back on older music eras and celebrate
Unlike you PD, I am old, and I think the fashion is definitely retro late 60s and 70s. The look reminds me of Steve McQueen in Bullitt. I think the bowling alley scene, however, is more 50s. Whatever era, Seventeen makes it look very good. I love the sound and choreo in this mv, for me it’s very musical theatre and Seventeen dares to go there and I’m here for it, cheering from the front row. Take care of yourself PD, it was a nice surprise that you uploaded this reaction in the first place.
What's satisfying is that, at the start of the video, it is evident that PD is not in his usual element. But when Home;Run started, he seems to be back from his usual self. Thanks PD for being the living testament that Seventeen has healing powers ☺️ Note: I already see it coming that you will praise the Rap line for having vocals (i must have learnt it from you then 😂). Been waiting for this PD. I hope you'll be totally ok. FIGHTING 💪
PD, as a carat i cannot tell you how much i appreciate you and your content! Thank you so much for everything you've put out, truly. Youre videos are so high quality and entertaining and interesting in your analysis. Its honestly not a seventeen comeback without you, atleast for me :)))
Seungkwan is recovering from his ankle injury and can only dance to certain parts (now). They have a dancer in the mv for his place. enjoyed the title a lot even the b tracks are interesting. and it feels good to see seventeen trying and enjoying what they do.
thanks for taking the time to react to this PD! (: i was looking forward to your reaction the most, knowing that you’re a true fan of seventeen! i agree with a lot of your points- they definitely pushed the most boundaries with this song in terms of line distribution. jun and the8 are in the top half of line distribution and it makes me so happy! i think the8 really shined in this MV and era. i still think the song is very catchy, and i appreciate how it’s not an EDM/synth heavy track that we’re so used to hearing these days. i would love to hear your thoughts on the semicolon special album especially since it’s mostly age-unit tracks which they’ve never done before! ofc, no pressure, please don’t feel obligated (especially since album listening videos have given you troubles before) but if you do decide to do one for semicolon i will be looking forward to it!! the album will definitely bring you a lot of joy and hopefully distract or take you away from any worries- if only just for a moment. at least, that’s what it did for me 💖 sending you lots of love PD! thank you for a great reaction!
I'm glad svt came back with this ART right when PD needed this. Especially when Hannie is looking like an absolute snack and got the most amount of lines. Svt grp of the century man. Also PD thank you so much for everything you do. You're truly one of the most amazing content creator on RU-vid. I hope you know how much we love your work.
I’ve also been dealing with some mental health issues the past few weeks and when i saw that the mv had dropped, it really cheered me up! Glad Seventeen can help so many people get through hard times. Please take care of yourself PD! Fighting!
Doesn’t this vibe scream theater kids?? I love it. I love how much of a production this whole song and MV is. It’s going to translate SO WELL to live performances 😤👌
I turns out this song came out perfectly at the time I was over-working myself and stressed abt everything... The lyrics brought me so much comfort that it's okay to take a break.
We're glad you're back pd, but if you still need to rest, we're more than willing to wait. Also thank you for this, i missed seeing ur svt contents. Fighting PD ♡
PD, to see you smile at the beginning of the video comforts me, especially after seeing your last video post. It’s good to see you more at peace. I hope you always feel the love & care we fans have for you.
Please don't apologize for having to take a hiatus. Your health and wellbeing is way more important than posting youtube videos. Do what's best for you and we'll support you no matter what. Thank You for making videos to brighten up our day and fan craze with us over our favorite groups :)
I'm so happy for Mingyu and Scoups to showcase their vocals... Mingyu overcoming his fear of his adolescence of being called a bad singer more and more, Scoups singing as he was trained. So happy really... I believe the whole ep would make you happy for their vocals and year units
don't worry, we all go through stages in which we need moments to pick up again. We know how much you love Seventeen and that you follow their career closely since its inception and it is nice to know that you always support them, express yourself with great sincerity about them and their work that makes us appreciate you much more. I love that Jeonghan has more lines and I think he continues to receive important parts in the bridges of the songs, that makes me very proud of him
seventeen's is a teenage number where youth is still there within teens and actually seventeen uses the youth concept seeing how this comeback was about not wanting to spend all your troubles away of going into collage etc. More like having fun and stuff this CB represents the youth
For your info, one of seventeen goals for this album is to reach out and heal more people so i hope that they can, in a way help to heal you too by their songs in the album and their lyrics ☺️ semicolon also means that they are supporting the youth with depression out there plus notice that there is a semicolon (;) between home and run that means its okay for you to rest and stop for a while before start running back ❤️✨
Personally I agree with you PD! I also especially like brassy/big band sound (and has been waiting for this since what we got in Very Nice) so Home;Run is really up on my alley. My fav moments of the song: the mash up between the background instrumental and vernon's rapping, the contrasting section of minghao's (verse 1) and wonwoo's (verse 2) line compared to its previous line, jun's post-bridge line. I feel like with seventeen although the executions are different, we can always expect being tricked for the drop or the final chorus haha Thanks for the reaction! (seriously, no need to apologize for anything! for me I enjoy just seeing what people think of the comeback and how you feel about it! glad that it made you feel better :) )
You never have to apologize for struggling. You take your time and resources and look out for yourself first, because it’s really hard to take care of others when you aren’t doing well. I’m really glad this 17 comeback made you just a bit happier, and I wish you all the things you need and want to flourish in this world.
I think it kind of switches between 70’s and 30’s/40’s with the costumes/visuals! It kind of reminds me of how 30’s/40’s movies often would be set decades earlier except it’s like if a 70’s movie was set in the golden age of Hollywood :p I also see a lot of Fred Astaire inspiration in the choreo!
the whole point of kpop is to be there and cheer us up when we are emo 💚 i am always so grateful for that. i loved this detailed analysis!!! your reactions/analyses are always the best because you have so much sincere love and knowledge. this is such a good comeback for seventeen. it reminds me a lot of monsta x shootout but a VERY diff vibe !
I think Seventeen is trying to branch out in terms of their most recognizable members, which is a good thing. Hoshi, Vernon, Seungkwan, DK, even the china line have a lot of individual fans, given their solo stuff, but there is still an unbalanced fandom in that regard. Jeonghan is a special case because he is one of the most popular members and you can't really cut him out of anything because he is THE center. But I think they are pushing for Mingyu, Dino and Wonwoo's this comeback, by portraying different facets of their character and performer value. I love that for Seventeen, trying to balance out their members and push forward everyone. I mean, since... I wanna say Thanks? well, certainly from Home onwards, Seventeen has been getting progressively more balanced in their screen-time and line distribution. Even changing the usual sub units every so often is a push for different dynamics and songs styles and stages, keeping everything interesting. I'm very happy for how versatile and fun it is to experience a Seventeen comeback, I never know what kind of songs are going to come our way, because they try to keep it fresh.
what i love about seventeen is they include everyone, representing each of their units in the chorus/hook the most important and vocally driven part. they got vocal team members of course, performance team members and hip hop team members. proving that everyone in seventeen can lead a chorus and can sing very well.
I think the most shocking part about this comeback is that it's vocal heavy and it's not only limited to the vocal unit but all of the members sang. It's so impressive because clearly, they have improved their vocal skills so much now. It shines the brightest in All My Love
i love this song. i love to see them growing as artists and experimenting things out of their comfort zone and helping each other. just makes me so happy!!
i was really impressed by hoshi's singing. i always saw him as only a main dancer, but when he started singing the first chorus, i was surprised in a good way. also, i think he owns this era, he's incredible at the live stages, his styling is on point.
Seventeen is such a delightful group their overall growth and portrayal within their songs show such a nice way of the things they actually care or worry about. I love watching their mvs and the stories behind their albums. Im so glad I'm a Carat tbh.
Thank you for your review of Home;Run. When I am feeling down Seventeen lifts me up too. So you are not alone. I am glad that after you watched the music video that you felt better.
As much as I enjoyed left and right, I felt it too catchy and I could feel like it was meant to go viral or to appeal to the gp. I love home run because it much more effortless, they just made a good song that makes you happy when you hear it. It’s what I want from my boys
DW PD, SVT is that "pick me up" team for most people of us, at the least me. Especially, the lyrics. Not sure if you heard/focused on them while watching this but you should. I think it's what you need. Take care and feel better PD-nim. Virtual hugs 🤗🤗🤗
I love that your initial reaction was just like mine 🤣 Minghao falsetto?! What is that Mingyu line?! ANOTHER JEONGHAN LINE? Minghao Bboying?! Gosh I love Home;Run so much. It really is like they wanted to challenge people in different roles, not put so much emphasis on DK and Seungkwan as normal (which they're main vocals, it isn't bad that they do), it's just fun that for this special album they played around with parts so much.
First let us note S.Coups was originally trained as a Vocalist with the group Nu'EST. Yes Vernon did not sing but he was featured in the dance break. Let us also note originally Vernon was recruited for the Performance team so I feel the whole Rap Line was well featured. The music is more in the line of swing which was actually from the 1940'S era which was also the golden era of Hollywood but more of the storyline was based more towards the 1920's era wear mob and casino and heists and robberies were more prevalent. If you read the date on the newspaper before the train scene the date is from the 1920's. The 20's was the age of gangster bosses like Al Capone.
First of all, I know it probably won't make it better, however I really wish you wouldn't apologize that much. Please don't apologize for things that is out of your control. You are supposed to be allowed to feel whatever you feel. I personally wouldn't have noticed a difference, because I don't watch your reactions for the purpose of seeing you seeming "happy". When you are excited, quite, amazed or simply observing is all reachions I enjoy, because it feels real! And I enjoy listening to what you are saying about either the music or video. I'm not one you everyday listeners, since I personally struggling with focusing and aren't always in the right mindset, however whenever there's a song or artist I'm excited about, you are always the first one I check into and sometimes the only one. Now about the actual song. I think it's a good, however compared to a lot of their other songs, it didn't really stand out to me... Also while I really enjoy their music, I'm not a stan, so I know very little about who is who and how they tend to build up their songs, however my bias is Woozi, so I was looking for him and also noticed how late he came in, almost started to believe they didn't give him any lines or screen time 😂😂😂
I enjoyed it a lot mind you. But we get it, so no worries. I think this era (this one and Henggarae) is quite mature in its own way. Like, the past few comebacks before Left & Right were mature and intense, as in, the feelings they were trying to express. Even the comforting aura of a song like Home has a pretty intense quality to it as well. Like saying "we really want you to feel this one." Henggarae and Semicolon, the way I see it, are mature in a much more...sober manner? I don't know if that's the right way to put. It feels chill and calmer, and precisely because we are calmer with ourselves now we can also be much brighter. They said this is a message of encouragement for youth, and I agree 1000% But it's a message that has sort of come full cycle. From an intense, rollecoaster ride to a vibrant hopefulness all the way to this more chill but still bright acceptance. I don't know, that's what this album makes me feel, when I think about it and the last Seventeen releases. I just love them so much
I love the whole theme of this music video. They use classic heist movies from the Sting to Ocean's Eleven to Pink Panther as a backdrop for their thefts. What are they stealing? Their fans heart from each other, the diamonds are Carats & they are trying to bias wreak us until they decide to steal (kill) us Carats' hearts as a complete group. Also, who thought it was a good idea to give Woozi a bat? Just saying
im a bit sad of the lack of lines and screen time for dk, seungkwan, and woozi who would usually have thrived in a vocally driven song like this, but i definitely think that a switch up in the formula was a good idea for the production and quality of the song. For example, had there been more rap than vernon’s part, i feel like it wouldn’t have fit the song, and having the hip hop line’s less technically trained singing voices in the chorus sounded really great for an upbeat and “funky” song like this. this is not, however, without the expense of cutting lines from the usual chorus boys. i definitely wish sk, dk , and woozi could have maybe had more verse lines to REALLY turn the tables, but when you look at the song as a whole, it’s just too good to really be mad abt anything. (besides do re mi, hey buddy, and light a flame definitely make up for it)
I don't know but I love that how they push themselves, every member tries singing, rapping and dancing, the unit switch versions which they do everytime, I highkey love them, even if they joke sometimes in those versions but I have seen GROWTH in them, I am still a new carat but looking back I can totally tell they pushed themselves the most, and I am still in AWE over performance unit vocals, hao really snapped in homerun with those notes, dino in do re mi towards the bridge is just out of this world, and Jun got so many lines in homerun, and like hoshi was actually in vocal unit so we really can't debate. Usually people take risks and add diversity in their bsides, but svt is one of the few groups who even puts their promotional tracks at stake, which I really admire.
i think this era really showcases how well-rounded svt is. all of them are multi-talented people and are capable of switching in and out of their subunits. i love that they are making an effort to display that. i LOVED minghao's parts and that he is getting to showcase his range more in the group, but i would've liked to see the same jun bc his technique is svt songs is mostly uniform and doesn't display his range. stan china line! :)
The unexpected part about having non vocals singing and getting screen time is one rep of the uniqueness of this album. It is definitely a special album!! I can’t wait for your listening party! And yes definitely this has some homage to their debut days but matured!! This cb, the hair, the scenes, the objects used from prev choreos and mvs has been reminding carats of those days like boom boom, pretty u and clap!
Duuude You don't have to apologize so much!! We watch your videos because we like your comments about the song and how you perceive it. If other people are not satisfied with what you are doing then they should just go away. We don't need their negativity în this household. I really hope you'll feel better soon.
