lots of love for the old hasbro wwf figs. For tag teams as a kid i liked my ax, smash crush and the rockers the most I never seen LOD or nasty boyz in the toy stores but i did get natural disasters, money inc and the bushwhackers, Steiner brothers and Samu from headshrinkers could never find a fatu though. i always remembered why hasbro never made the hart foundation set, British bulldog set or the killer bee's, rougeau brothers. It is epic they finally made a hart foundation jim the anvil and dynamite kid and they are some photos of chella working on a killer bee's figure set better late then never i guess
Demolition is still my favorite from the Hasbro line. I got started late and by sheer luck, I found Smash and Crush at a Kay Bee on a random visit late in 1992, long after they stopped including these guys in the shipments. LOD and Nasties were IMPOSSIBLE to find here in south Jersey. Never saw them. Demolition were my favorite because of the masks and they had great action features. Never had Ax as he was a singles figure from Series 1 and by the time I got into wrestling in the Spring of 91, he was long gone from the promotion so they weren't making more of his figures.
Only got one actual tag team in my small Hasbro collection long long before collecting Mattels from series 87 last year.(Earthquake and Typhoon) but did fight my Hasbro Warrior and Hogan a lot. My IRS teamed up with Rick Model Martel. Jimmy Snuka teamed with Macho Man with wings.
I collected these as a kid here in the UK. I look back now and think it was criminal however that we never got the Natural Disasters as an actual Tag Team on card set with Earthquake in his new attire. Also why they never released Power&Glory or Beverly Brothers who were in the early 90's quite prominent. Would have loved to have seen a tag team card release for the Heart Foundation too. Possibly Men on a Mission came on the scene too late as Hasbro knocked the line on the head. We got two lots of Bushwhackers I believe? I would have love to have seen a Legion of Doom second set without the spiked armour too?
No disrespect, but I like how Hasbro released Earthquake wearing all blue (vest, underwear and boots), as I never liked when his underwear, and especially boots, were now red (even if this change was ‘the WWF just trying to jazz things up’) [like sour cream jazzes up a jacket spud], although I prefer when Earthquake’s outfit (vest and underwear) and boots were more like a neon shade of blue (like he wore at WrestleMania VI and the 1990 Survivor Series), as, at the 1991 Royal Rumble, and WrestleMania VII, his vest, underwear and boots were now Royal blue. Yeah, I don’t know why Hasbro didn’t make Earthquake and Typhoon, as an actual tag team set, as ‘the Natural Disasters’ (I’m aware of the third Ted DiBiase figure Hasbro released, in series 9, with in-ring gear - no shirt, and wearing black underwear and boots, and with punch action; fans could have paired said figure with IRS, to make ‘Money Incorporated’, especially when fans feel the same, about why Hasbro didn’t make the two as an actual tag team set). I bet fans even wish Hasbro made the IRS figure wearing his glasses (although that issue would be easy to edit - someone would just have to sculpt glasses, using milliput, and use grey acrylic paint, and end with a sealant). Off-subject, I’m aware this is the only time IRS legitimately had a theme (the same theme as Ted DiBiase’s). Did want to say, Bret Hart did really well, when he now wrestled singles, post-WrestleMania VII (I’m aware the breakup / split of the Hart Foundation, post-said WrestleMania, is why Hasbro never released said tag team). Sorry about the length of my comment, but I did want to ask - is it OK if I say about just any Hasbro WWF figures, in this video? (wrestlers who weren’t tag teams)
5. The Headshrinkers. Rules because its them, sucks because they're jumpers. 4. The New Foundation 3. Steiner Brothers 2. single carded Demolition 1. The Nasty Boys.
I only had 3 of these back in the day was no tag teams. (Rick Rude, Jake the Snake, and Hulk Hogan) I had he wcw stiener bros figs though. God those belts were crazy to work with.
Great list. Demolition, LOD & Nasty boys were usually the Tag champs in my fig fed. i thought Boss Man & Akeem the African dream might just make the list lol.
my top five tag list is 5 Money Inc,4.Natural Disasters,3 Smoking Gunns i was only on my block to have the Smoking Gunns ,2 Demolition,1 course the greatest Tag Team ever LOD
Love this list! You should do every Hasbro tag team!😁 My tag team ranks: 1. LOD 2. Demolition 3. Rockers 4. Steiner bros 5 Nasty Boys 6 & 7 Bushwackers 8 Smoking Gunns 9 Headshrinkers 10 New Foundation 11 Natural Disaster (if matching singlets would of been higher) 12 Twin Towers 13 Money Inc (Ted 2 & IRS) I wouldn’t put Mega Powers or Strike force since the fig doesn’t rep their tag team time.
@@MichaelEarl And I like how Hasbro released KoKo B Ware in his original, singles career, which he used at WrestleMania VI and the 1990 Survivor Series (when he wore sunglasses to the ring, his signature move was the ‘Ghostbuster’, his theme was ‘Do the Bird’, which was used in the former PPV’s opening match, and, in-ring, he wore - in the former PPV, trousers where one trouser leg was white, and the other trouser leg was red, whereas, for entrance gear, he wore trousers that were entirely red, and, in the latter PPV, he wore pink trousers; he definitely wore white boots, both PPVs) [and his hair wasn’t even flat-top], as I always preferred this version to when he was in High Energy, and where he now looked like a walking green apple (I never liked when he was in High Energy even if this change was the WWF doing stuff along the lines of how sour cream cheers up a cheesecake). I definitely like how Hasbro never made a figure of KoKo B Ware in High Energy gear (the same as I always preferred Earthquake wearing all blue to when he was in the tag team ‘the Natural Disasters’, where his underwear and boots were now red, and, as I’ve already said, I like how Hasbro made him wearing all blue, and never made him wearing red underwear and boots). Although I’ve versions of Earthquake and KoKo B Ware I (rhyme unintended) prefer, I’m aware Hasbro released Earthquake wearing Royal blue (again, the shade of blue his vest, underwear and boots were, at the 1991 Royal Rumble, and WrestleMania VII), and KoKo B Ware in yellowish-green trousers, and his boots were neon blue.
1. Demolition, Smash was a huge top guy in my fed had about 5 title runs. 2. Steiner's they were top tag team for me always feuding with no. 3. 3. Money Inc I cheated and used dibiase in the green with IRS he was the only one i had but about 10x Scott Steiner would frankensteiner IRS. 4. Mega powers it didn't last long as like they exploded Savage turned on Hogan 5. Twin Towers I would always pit them against Demolition like SummerSlam '89.
This was a great countdown! Love the Hasbro, now I need another Smash 😆. Being a NZer I would have the Bushwhackers 2nd version where they were released individually with their hats in my top 5
Very cool list. I'm gonna complete my Demolition team here in the next day. I bought Ax off ebay. Idk why I didnt years ago, but they will be a team again here soon in my collection :)
My top 5 are. 5. Mega Powers 4. Money Inc. 3. Steiner Bro. 2. L.O.D 1. Demolition. Till this day idk why? hasbro released a lot of tag teams as singles. Idk if it's true I heard Toysrus is coming back to the United States of 🇺🇸.
