A long established practice that only requires that such freebies and donations are recorded. Every party accepts them even Reform. they accepted hundred of thousands of pounds from a Muslim millionaire, why not Google it for yourself ?
You're right, but wrong as well. Nothing will happen, probably, that's true. However, I used to get an occasional couple of pints at a sportsman's dinner, or a go-karting night, or something like that. I never thought I was being invited so that I could be be asked to return a favour. I never really had anywhere near enough power to do that. They were just people I knew through work, and, I assume, were showing appreciation for the custom they had had. Fast forward a few years, and we had to sit through online courses/quizzes etc. about ethics and stuff like that. There was no way you could not do these things, and say that you understood and will abide by them. I retired a short while ago, but under no illusion whatsoever, that if I'd accepted a pint from a supplier, and they found out about it, I'd have NO comeback at all, if I was dismissed. End of. So, yeah, there is accountability, but if a welder can fall foul of it........? You fill the rest in
@@jjefferyworboys8138. But a lot of these ‘donations’ were declared as monetary donations to the party, whereas they were gifts made to individual members.
@@wobla9699 I have rechecked my sources, and Thomas Jefferson is not credited to the quotation, as I said it was Lord Acton in 1887 in a letter written to Bishop Mandell Creighton.
She's the token working class (noted, she was a scroungers straight from school) just the same as Prescott. The token to pretend that Labour are for the workers.
I was a young child and that evil looking perv Saville disturbed me so MUCH 🤦♀️ that I had to leave the room where the telly was. Didn’t seem to bother anyone else, but He continued to make my flesh crawl (still does) when I heard that friends wrote letters to get on Jim’ll fix it I was honestly aghast. Almost everyone must have known.
Oh there's even more fishyness involved. There's no way a trip to NYC over the New Years for five days would only set you back one and a half grand. Someone gave her some spending money.
A public servant in say a council, receives a gift, they would sacked on the spot and charged with corruption. The donor would be charged with bribery. Toxic!
I think so to - also that whilst she did declare it, she under-valued it in my opinion. She declared it as something like £1,200 - come off it - luxury apartment in the centre of New York for 5 days over the Christmas/New Year holiday, you couldn’t get a TravelLodge for that. Value is more like £5,000.
They don't see it as corruption when they do it. They see it as their dues owed, seeing as they are saving the world from our dangerous freedoms. They deserve it.
I wish all the uniparty politicians would resign. What a state this country is in. Would they resign if there was a general strike???. They no longer function as intended.
They know they’ll be out on their ear after their term ends so they’re living life on the hog on public money before being given the boot. Utter Barstewards
MPs having extra marital affairs isn't anything new, they've always done it, and many of them same sex extra marital relationships! Political theatre, to keep the plebs entertained, and distracted.
@@popgoesthestoat But why? How much have you got? Do you need loads more? No. A bit, okay. But not a few grand's worth of clothes. Stroll on. They go loco when money is around, these people.
@@markgullick1725 as someone has already said, that is how they get so rich. they take from the poor and line their own pockets and companies give them stuff to bribe them. wake up.
