This is my favourite series on this channel and I am glad I am here early this time. I personally do like that Arthur has flaws, his prideful, reckless, stubborn and snarky behavior makes him more relatable and interesting than if he had been just a good honorable king.
This was the first time I ever heard about Excalibur's enchanted scabbard. Thanks for sharing that info with us all! Still that complicates the narrative because at some point, (cough) the fight with Mordred (cough) Arthur must have left the scabbard behind.
TFW Fate/Stay Night of all things actually took note of this lol. Out of all Arthurian media, the one with a Rule 63 Arthur remembers little details like this more than most western Arthurian media.
@@wannabehistorian371 And here I was worried in regards to thinking of watching that show. But if it's more aware of such details then sign me up for it!
@@kimeraclan3135 Well I think Arthurian stuff is mostly just backstory to my knowledge in F/SN? Though the scabbard is a pretty huge plot point I think. It starts getting very Arthurian in Grand Order, the mobile game, and in supplementary material, though Apocrypha elaborates a lot on Mordred I think.
@@kimeraclan3135 But yeah, good watching! Just be careful that it’s pretty, well, anime, and that it can be convoluted as all hell. Like the Fate universe (or Nasuverse as it’s more widely known since it shares a universe with another series called Tsukihime) is kind of infamous for being a massive clusterf*ck for a reason. Also if you want to look for just concentrated Arthurian stuff in particular, you better like looking for a translation of a somewhat hard to find (I think) tie-in novel. Also the mobile game, though that also has hundreds of other characters. I mean it has WTF elements like Agravain holding an important administrative position and working in the shadows, or Tristan’s best bro being Bedivere and not Lancelot for some ungoldly reason, but it still shocks me often with the little references and tidbits which show that the creators at least did some research. Like I mean they even make Bedivere one-armed and have Cath Palug be a plot important creature, they pull from everything. (Btw a male Arthur also exists. He’s in this OVA and light novel series called Fate/Prototype).
Isn't the lady of the lake called "Nimue" or something? Also doesn't the lake have a name? Furthermore who is he referring to when he says "Arthur's sister"?
Full quote: “Listen, strange women lyin’ in ponds distributin’ swords is no system for a basis of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.”
The sword that broke that he mentioned in the beginning of the video is the sword he pulls from the stone called caliburn, Excalibur is the sword nimue gives to him once that sword had shattered
WOW.... 1.3k to 14 (like to dislike ratio)... Well,, at least there weren't THAT many "@ssholes" out there... I personally thought that this was a great entertaining video! Very informative too! (It learned me some stuff)! lol...😂👍 EDIT: (SUBSCRIBED!!!)💯
And how,, do you know she was,,, a Lady? Just let her speak, for "From the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks." Is she evil speaks,, take it form there.
