That was "What is a Delta?" It's a chant I learned back in the day, with one exception. These ladies said "What a Sigma Gam can't" and we said "What a Rho can't." Great steppin', Sorors! Oo-oop!
As a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. all I can say is our glorious founders did the best they could with what they had. I respect the dissenters decision to form their own organization. But do not take away from us what we all know AKA is "The Blueprint" for all organizations that came after us. AKA is the first and the finest. We have our own unique style, we are not the hardest steppers, we're prissy, and we make no apologies for it.
A DST alum step team came to the University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign last October for our African American Homecoming. I covered the step show for my journalism class and I was blown away. Clean, strong and dominant. Not to mention some of the nicest people I have ever spoken with. Way to represent!
I have been NUPE for almost 20 years now..and this is the FIRST time I saw delta strut and step like the Deltas I remember from my Undergrad years..Made me think that not all undergrads have forgotten how to be hard, classy, sexy and strong..That was ON POINT..YO_OOP!krimson love

For the comment about being a future delta, I have to agree w/bdquate. She may not know that she isn't supposed to tell people about the organization she wants to pledge. This is youtube, people can pretend to be whoever they want, so she may already know that and just wants to say something. If she's not in college than she obviously do not know the significance of being "DISCREET"!! Sorors we should not jump on her, but make sure she understands why she needs to keep her mouth closed. Where did you get your information about AKA's being all about themselves, RUMORS? You cant believe everything you hear. There are rumors about every organization.
Well, it's a term that existed w/in greek life well before you or I had interest... so, I didn't coin it... I'm still an individual who is Greek now... I also know that the term is widely used to describe non-greeks everywhere and it is not always meant to be condescending... but I use it out of frustration for individuals that break rank and do silly things like that...
Nicole318, that's good that you know my beloved sorority's history! (And yes, we MUST keep the QUANDERy at bay!) Seriously though, I've come to deeply respect all the positive BGLOs' response to the call of service for our communities. It is my prayer that everyone would respect the service of BGLOs as well. I coined the word QUANDERy because there's often so much negativity thrown at DST, but my sorors and I will continue fulfilling the mission of our founders!

yes I am not a greek and I think it is VERY disrespectful for a non greek to do a call...u will get your ass beat in the south for that...lol...I just think its disrespectful, dont do it if you haven't earned it
