It does create a flat floor, but before you push the seat down, there is a strap in the middle of back seat you need to pull it up towards a vertical position, then you can lay the seat down
Like older cars? My fiat punto from 99 has a tiny trunk, so you can pull up the seats on the back row and then fold the back of the seat to make a flat and double the size trunk.
The silliness is the electric push slide when it could just be a manual override like so many other 2door have done in the past. As it takes for every for that seat to slide forward then slide back. Specially when it’s raining outside !
@@him050 Must have not driven them. All car ratings from everywhere rate them as the worst rigs made as far as dependability goes My friend who has more money than brains bought one--he said it was the biggest headache he ever had. He finally found a brain, sold the LR, and bought a Toyota Land Cruiser, the most dependable rig ever made.
Amd my 24 year old jeep you pull a lever and the seat back folds forward and the base slides forward then the base tips. So much more access faster with no power to break But thats actualy a neat truck.
If it’s anything like my Xterra, if you’re able to lift and flip the rear seat, the backs should fold flat. The way they kinda just bounce on the seat makes it feel like that’s the case.
Most people who buy the 90 here get the commercial van version .. no rear seats and flat floor with a bulk head .. they also do a 110 commercial .. but it is England so I guess we get more options here
My Buick Enclave Avenir rear seats are electronicly folded down and lay flat. The Buick is also more reliable. I like the design of the Discovery though. But these cars are infamous.
Not silly to me! Don’t like how the second row doesn’t lay flat so I would remove that second row plus I don’t give rides and more room for whatever I’m loading in the back.
Ford, Chevy and GMC made this work a long time ago. The Blazer, Bronco and Jimmy could this only better but good job for making something that already was done decades ago.😂
Actually, here’s a fun tip but I would not recommend it at my dealership. We had one came in some traded in for I don’t know what cart was and we noticed that the back seats are gone. He locked my home so he can put all his work equipment inside the back of the Range Rover.
This car would sell alot better if the seats were electric to put down and when they are folded the floor needs to be flat like you have a huge trunk now
Ok of they are going to try and rekindle the greatness of the past they should have fired it with bench seats down either side as well as across the front. Non adjusting seats and some away with all that carpet. The thing should be simple and fixable on the side of a mix track when it breaks down. And it will break down like all of the other modern land rover stuff.
I dont understand why they could put a cable into electric seat bases that when you tilted the seat foward like that it automatically disconnected it from the gear set and just let the seat manually slide foward and back until relocked in place all through the 80,90, and early 2000s but not today. Seems like this is a fatal flaw that would piss me off enough to not buy one.
It’s not silly… SWB vehicles are great at off-roading, I wouldn’t take this off road but an old swb defender/landcruiser/patrol would be nice. I’ve got the LWB patrol but dads military SWB defender fits anywhere
The 90 only made sense in the classic defender when it either has no rear seats or had the sideways mounted bench seats that folded up out of the way. If I was to buy the new 90 I’d take the seats out.🤷♂️
In Europe there is a commercial 2 door version of the Defender with no rear seats. North America always has the worst selection of cars from scummy dealers
Wow the garbage manufacturers are selling with these "SUVs" these days, the only true function it serves is being off road capable but who's taking this expensive junk to do serious off roading?
Power moving seats are stupid I get power moving seats if u adjust lumbar or hight but moving it back and forth.... like come on y waste time and electricity on a feature that would be 10x faster if u just manually do it your self....
Total rip off not worth it. You can’t get into one of these for less than $65-$70K. No thanks. Much better options for that price. Very cool vehicle, hard no.
This things are such trash. I convinced my brother in law to rent on for a week be for he bought one. It was literally falling apart. The blind spots are atrocious. To top it off it got a CEL the last day we had it.
The defender is literally so ugly, car designers have the absolute worst taste on certain vehicles. Just like the brand new redesigned 24 Honda accord. It’s just so obviously dumb looking to me but obviously to each their own.
