Years ago, Cadillac was the standout flagship of the GM Conglomerate. Even though they still say they are, they are becoming more and more mainstream and trying to compete with the luxury sport market, and not the luxury car market. Even in the 90's, Cadillac was a mark above your Buicks and Oldsmobiles. They hardly shared switchgear with other brands, and usually had their own interiors that were completely different. Here, with this DeVille, we take a look at how Cadillac used to be!
Huge
Luxurious
Powerful, yet understated
Highway Cruising Land Yacht
Here, we are taking a detailed in-depth walk-around look at the interior and exterior of this 1999 Cadillac DeVille D'Elegance
Exterior Color: Moonstone Metallic
Interior Color: Pewter Nuance Leather w/Zebrano Wood
Engine: 4.6L DOHC 32V L37 Northstar V8
Transmission: 4-Speed Turbo Hydramatic 4T80-E Automatic
*Please note that I am not employed by any dealership NOR and I selling any vehicle depicted on this page! All dealer info is shown at the beginning of the video along with contact information. If you have questions regarding price or availability, please contact the appropriate dealership tagged in the video!*
Neighborhood Car Reviews gives you an alternative look at the already impressive list of car videos that are online. What we do is a first-person walk-around of the car. We show features and details that are on the particular model being shown. Performance data, safety equipment and the like are usually not shown due to the already enormous amount of videos that cover the aforementioned topics.
We like to cover everything from classics to high-end and everything in between.

I had one of these in white 1997, my dad signed it over to me when he became to old to drive anymore, i really enjoyed driving it and taking my dad around where he need to go, then in 2014 he sadly passed away and shortly after gas prices hit the roof, and filling a car with Northstar 32 V-8 became difficult, So i was forced to part with the old gal, for a more affordable Mazda 3, this video reminds me of times going for a ride with dad....

I have an 01 Deville. When they were NEW they did 28mpg highway. Mine gets like 24 😂😂. The newer Northstars are definitely more fuel efficient than the early ones.

I saw this car on Craigslist for a very affordable price. I currently own a 2015 Nissan Versa and looking for something bigger to tow my bike 🏍. Not to concerned about gas prices..the luxury and comfort worth it.

My wife's grandfather just gave us a 1999 DeVille D'elegance that was her late grandmother's car. It has 114,500 miles on it and is in excellent condition. In the short time we've had it, I have fallen in love with the car. It is a living room on wheels. Too bad the big land yachts are becoming extinct.

I live in Italy, have a Ferrari and two Mercedeses but have always had a weak spot for Cadillac. Every time I come to the States I rent one, preferably an XTS or CT6. Real classic long distance motoring in style. :-)

The DeVille business model was 2 inches longer and featured rear passenger foot rests and a fold down lap desk on each side.

I owned a 1995 Deville. It had the 4.9 liter V8 engine. It only had 200 horsepower, but it was a engine that was so much more reliable than the engine that became the standard power plant in 1996. It was a great car.
@mrbigbigtoe

The 4.9 was standard for 1995 Only the Concours trim of the DeVille got the Northstar until 1996

The delegance had more features, like the mirrors in the rear. It also had gold emblems and a gold hood ornament. But otherwise there the same.

0-60 might be slower, but that’s only because of the tall gearing. Drop a 9 speed auto off in it and it should haul to 60 in less than 7 seconds

Alignment is way off plus the dash is flickering
@NeighborhoodCarReviews
@NeighborhoodCarReviews 4 года назад
Alignment yes, dash doesn’t actually flicker. It’s the contrast between the refresh rate of my camera clashing with the refresh rate of the LCD display. In reality, there’s nothing wrong with the display. The alignment left a lot to be desired!

WOW! Do you really call this a land yacht of the 90s? So then what is a Lincoln Town car that's 2 ft longer and at least 6 in wider than this car this is a midsize car not a land yacht and I do believe the 4.9 is the one that's blowing head gaskets like you blow your nose and it basically become worthless still a pretty car wouldn't have it

+Garrett Dodson Oh man. You’re not joking! It was pretty bad, but I really wanted to review it, since overall, it was really a nice car. Steering was pretty bad, and I thing the head gasket was going as well. Coolant temp was a bit higher than the normal 195°.

Love the clowns who have NO taste or appreciation for class who put UGLY bw tires on these cars.
@tommitchell2055
@tommitchell2055 5 лет назад
Its actually getting harder to find decent white walls in some sizes these days. I have a 94 Cadillac Fleetwood and there were only 2 whitewall tire brands readily available. Some cheap tire with questionable reviews, and a vogue tire that cost over $200 per tire. I daily my car so I want a quality tire, but black walls just arent right so I had to get a white letter General Altimax RT43. Not sure about this deville though and whats available for it.

Land Yacht? More like a dingy. Not even as big as a 1964 Galaxie or Impala, which were STANDARD sized cars back in the day.

@MostlyBuicks

@@NeighborhoodCarReviews The 1994 to 1996 Roadmasters, especially the Limited are quite excellent. I prefer the 1994 because their seats are more comfortable (talking Limited here, the standard have the same seats every year). But yeah, the 1994 to 1996 Fleetwoods are something else again. And if you get the towing package you got yourself a car that can run with the Impala SS.
