📍 Manchester's iconic Printworks, once the hub of the newspaper printing industry in the North, this morning unveiled its new, 1000m² digital ceiling/screen - the largest in Europe - the final part of its five-year, £21m transformation.
The transformation has been spearheaded by owners DTZ Investors alongside a creative team of architects, brand and destination specialists and artists who have helped create what DTZ describes as "a first and a showcase for creative talent in Manchester."
Nine actors, eight dancers, six dogs, four rabbits, three snakes, three swimmers, two tarantulas, one baby and one Coronation Street star were filmed for over 250 hours to create the content for the giant LED canopy, which covers three internal streets and a central courtyard, over the course of 12 months. Lancashire big screen manufacturer and content specialist ADI and Manchester animation and FX studio Flipbook took the creative lead.
