Your argument on not adding the empires is inconsistent. Is that not what Russia did in Siberia? Or the French Empire, who mostly just made puppet states and didn't hold them for long? Or Nazi Germany, who temporarily occupied a few states for 5 years and never actually won the war? Or the Macedonians who would just arrive, win a battle, claim the land and leave? Making this video consistent without adding the empires simply isn't possible in my opinion. It was a good attempt though, some of these are pretty funny. Also nice touch with trolling North Macedonia lol

@@danielpetersen7856 all the states you mentioned fought technologically equal to them states,where there won't be thousands of years gap,but maybe at most couple decades gap,metaphorically speaking.Russia is exception to that,but at least Russia integrated Siberia into itself,which is the reason why they still own it,unlike Britain who owned broken up pieces of land all over the world,inhabited by 4th world tribesmen,who they believed to be inferior and used them for cheap resources,only to at some point find their colonies are unprofitable and give up 99% of their own empire's territories willingly.And that formula more or less happened with all colonial empires.Thats why I differentiate between those who conquered tribes,used them for the resources and left vs the actual empires who conquered equals and fell from a very big crisis and not just because 99% of their lands were unprofitable and they left them.

Being Greek is about blood,being Roman isn't. Romans were all Mediterranean people's. The Romans continued to exist long after Italy was lost and became irrelevant. Being Roman is just not something bent to being Italian,just like being American is not something bent to being white,despite whites making the country and blacks being the slaves for half of it's history.

During the ancient period 75% of all emperors came from outside Italy and Italians were nonexistent in the Roman army at this time.And let's not forget that the Roman state continued untill 1453,further making Italy not so important.

After the western Roman empire fell a bunch of germanic/latinic tribes came to the peninsula, and mixed with the Ex roman ones, so yeah even generically speaking, today's Italy is like only 30% - 50% Roman.

@@DiazNuts that's right,but they aren't any % of Romans tough,since Roman isn't ethnicity.The percentages you mentioned are the ancient italic ones they have.All of the Mediterranean were Romans once,so if one nation from there just decided tomorrow that they were the Romans it wouldn't work.The only remaining Romans today would be the ones whos lineage has always considered themselves Romans all the way from the Roman empire,which are only couple of thousand greeks today,those are the only legitimate Romans.All of the other Mediterranean nations don't have an unbroken lineage of Roman identity
