I often wonder if Todd and his dad are hiding percentages of the gold from the rest of the crew. You almost never see anyone else in the shack with the dad during clean up....at least that I have ever seen. And it is a rarity that I see Todd running any equipment.

I would bet that Todd and Jack were skimming gold from their cleanups for YEARS. Why else would no one be allowed in the cleanup shack? Seriously, I cannot think of a single valid reason for making sure none of the crew can see the cleanup. I also love that they show the entire Hoffman crew celebrating when their cleanup was only 10% of the 4 people in the Beets crew.

Todd Hoffman does not have any scientific approach to mining. He was mining tailings in south America, here in Oregon he sampled the salted ground and did not pay attention that the mine owners had invested so much money in equipment and if there was any gold they did not need him. Now he is mining the ground that has been mined by dredge before, when he is going to wise up.

Here is my idea for an awesome TV SHOW...........A small group of guys decide they want to go Gold mining ( Similar to Gold Rush, Discoveries most popular show ever ) But not Placer Gold they decide to go underground and mine Lode Gold ( Where most of the Gold is anyway ) So they go and explore a few abandoned mines looking for a good one. They find an awesome abandoned mine buy it, then form a mining company to raise funds to restore and operate this old mine. The stock is publicly traded on the stock market so the viewers or anyone for that matter can buy or sell shares at anytime. The show would be about the acquisition, development and operation of this old mine. The fact that viewers can own stock in this mine would be revolutionary because it would be the first show ever where viewers actually had a stake in the show they are watching! Lode mining is far more interesting and exciting than placer mining. You have explosives, history, terminology sights and sounds that most people have never seen plus all kinds of interesting minerals and rock formations as well as some danger.

The LEGEND IS BACK .. but i believe in Parker i cant wait for next Season

The problem with the Hoffmans is that they like to mine where the gold has never been or it's already all been mined out. But even a blind squirrel finds his nuts once every now and then.

Parker’s got the best crew. Has the biggest clean up ever. And makes Tony’s family look like amateurs. The only thing Tony is good at is showing people how easy it is to waste money. Btw guys.... That black sand weighs nothing compared to the gold. Even at 530 ozs I am willing to bet that black sand weighed maybe 2-3 oz. 4 tops. Those gold specs weigh so much more.

The Hoffman clowns couldn't hold a candle to the Beet's crew! Tony worked his ass off, to get where he's at today. And, he makes his kids work also! No free ride with Tony!! He's got a great work ethic, and he's doing a great job raising his family too! Even Parker has ten times the work ethic that all the Hoffman's put together can't muster up!

It would be so neat to see one of these dredges at work, machines from another time. Amazing he was able to get these massive things moved . I like Tony, he slowly nudged Parker into getting into knowing how to get the gold, Parker is a kid though, someday he will understand. He was actually so lucky to run into tony. He seems hard on Parker, but he is actually helping Parker. Has Parker not noticed how badly screwed other people that were mining there got screwed by the owners. Tony is probably the best in that business from what I see. Discoveries man that called him a dick was actually a dick himself. He's lucky Tony didn't take him out back and ask him if he wanted to make an issue now. My dad was a bear of a man, he was a worker, and he weighed about 278 lbs of solid Rock , I seen some basement dweller get pulled out of his car window and he mangled him, he asked if any of the rest of the other three sonsofbitches wanted to get out, they were shitting their pants. We are Irish and Dutch, quite the mixture. My family is kind but call any if them a dick and they will lay your ass out. The fear instilled from my father made people not want to call any cops, they were probably afraid cops weren't going to be enough to stop him coming back at them again. Yeah so I think Tony is a nice guy, I had a friend just like him. If you said you needed help he would drop everything he was doing even running his crane and show up with trailers etc to help me pick up vehicle I bought, my friend moved 950 miles away, and fell on the ice and he went into a coma then came out of it , and even drove to my house to see me. He knew I have rheaumatoid arthritis bad and every Christmas he came , just to see me. He finally died from that head injury. I so miss doing work here and spending time looking at his old pictures and telling stories. He was part Dutch and Finn, and the finns apparently like cold weather, and it got him. I was doing some reading and was shocked at how many people each year die from falling on ice and hitting their heads. Apparently even the guy who wrote the Adkins diet book died that way. After reading that I think helmets on bikes for kids is a very good idea the back of your head is a bad area to fall on. Be careful people in the winter, little freak accidents can be the death of you.
