Projecting migration, especially in such volitale times is BS statistic sorcery. There are factors that can't be accounted for that will drive a lot of migration (does Ukrainie war end, and if so in what way etc)
Something is off: In 1974-1975, Portugal should higher in immigration and, Angola and Moçambique should be high in emigration. Those were the years when portugal lost its colonies. Maybe the UN saw it as just portuguese people moving from Portugal to Portugal not the biggest mass migration in Europe. (That is how I a was thaught )
This presentation is clearly WAY off the mark for some countries. For example, during the 1950s, and 1990s, Israel took in over ONE MILLION people in both decades. The presentation here shows barely a fraction of that immigration during the 1950s and nothing is registered for the 1990s... when there was nearly 100,000 people per year!
@@sebastianw9749 many reasons, but primarily the effects of imperialism. We had the highland and lowland clearances, the eviction of Scottish peasantry by the British landlords, forced emigration. We lost a lot of people through fighting Britains wars for their empire, and lost a lot during WW1 & WW2, but especially WW1, because the Brit establishment feared there would be a rebellion in Scotland, so our soldiers were especially wiped out, and after WW1 were sent to northern Russia to fight the communists. Of all the countries in WW1, only Serbia lost more men than Scotland. Whole communities were emptied because of this. Then there is the brain drain etc
The United States of America (USA) are clearly the No. 1 Immigration country, while Emigration fluctuated much stronger depending on refugees fleeing from war (Syria, Ukraine, etc.) and poverty (Philippines, Venezuela, etc.). Right no Ukraine is the No. 1 Emigration country because of the war.

Hahaha how about you leave, from the stolen land? If you don't, no one cares about your opinion. You are not on your land, you have no right to decide what happens there. I am so happy you can't control who is coming there now. This is not your country, and it will lose that character you like about it. It will be Spanish speaking socialistic state within your lifetime probably. I just hope actual native people of this territory get power over it at some point, that though is sadly unlikely, so murrica turning un-american is most justice you may get at this point.
