I grew my beard from August and was really happy with it, I had a full shave on new years eve & and will now do a full year and take a selfie each day to see how it looks next new years. I'm 100% looking better with a beard. Happy new years.

Well done Greg! Great instinct and thoughts on beard growth/health being impacted on the side you sleep. I cover that in my uneven beard growth video. Your thought is correct! When you sleep on the same side, it constricts the blood vessels and impacts the growth/health negatively. Excited to see your future video perspective on it!

i´m so jealous of your hair.... my beard is about the same but my hair is so thin in the front.. We can put a man on the moon, transplant another persons face onto another person and yet, we can´t figure out how to regrow hair or get it stronger and thicker... I dream of having hair as thick and strong as yours and i have friends who does have super dense and thick hair like yours and they mostly all buzz cut their head all the time!! NOT FAIR!!!

Its nice to see a self-groomed beard trim/cut video. I've had a beard for 10 years (longer than 2" for 2-3 years) and so many people push for a barber.. although my one-time barber experience just confirmed that I already know how to do what he did... which was a nice confidence booster!! Nice video.. thanks for sharing your techniques Greg!

Back in November I tried to trim my beard alone and I ended up going to deep with the electric razor and I had to shave it all off, since then I said I'll only go to a professional barber for trims, now I'm like a month and a half at growing it back and it's starting to look good again, my length that I prefer is like 3 months worth of growth but my beard grows pretty fast fortunately and being very dark it looks thicker

Greg Berzinsky I have a thin haired beard so I know the struggle of making it look full. What is a good daily routine that you do to style your beard. Im a mechanic so I have to wash my beard everyday during the week because of all the grease and oil. In the mornings I have to blow dry my beard cause one side curl under and the other curls out. What can I use on my beard to to keep it from looking damaged. I usually use a whipped beard butter before I blow dry it to keep the beard hair from drying out and after styling I put a couple drops of beard oil followed with a little balm to hold it in place. Any tips of things to try or not try. Thanks in advance.

just burns me up when i see i still have great hair follicles on the sides and back, but my hair just gave up on the top 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️ thankfully i look decent with a shaved head 😂

Same. And when i try to straighten it it doesnt handle it well its like my beard haor rejects straitening. Having said that when it gets quite long thr weight straightens it out and looks good if you dont want it super curly i mean us curly guys gotta just embrace it and work with it if we dont straighten or cant

Greg, get a satin or silk pillow case to protect your hair and beard while sleeping. Cotton pillow cases can dry out your hair and contribute to breakage.

Slip on a real silk pillowcase (not satin, SILK). Women do this to keep their curls and smooth their skin.

I like both lengths. I am the same age as you Greg and I am growing a full beard for the first time (always sported a circle beard) I plan on growing it long and then changing it up. Thanks for all the useful info!

You guys at beardbrand can’t leave your beards alone. Eric the founder recently went clean shaven and last I saw he is sporting a cop mustache LOL. Greg, that mustache is sick. Please don’t sacrifice it for a video. Actually do what you want. I could never be a contributor for beardbrand because I’d be like hell no I’m not cutting my beards growth for a video. I haven't groomed my neck in I don't know how long. I do agree that longer isn't better as well. As my beard reaches about six to eight months length it starts to get thinner on the ends. Thanks for the video.

Both lengths look good, I think - depending on the reasons for each. It is always nice to change things up every once in awhile for creativity and interest. I do think the contrast of the shorter beard with the long hair is more interesting aesthetically though.

I like that you grow you hair out long . I used to have long hair but my genetics will not allow it these days so I have a shaved head. if I had a good head of hair though id keep it long like god made it.

Couple of things. One, you're a brave brave man. I have grown my beard out 4 times (first one was a year and half) and have tried to trim it 3 times (on my fourth one now). All 3 times, I found myself nit picking and before I knew it, I had to either start completely over or very close to it. Problem is that, as far as I know, there's no beardsmith in my town. Second, is how long should you grow your beard before you determine terminal length? Last thing, your new look is very Jeff Bridges like.

What factors should one consider re doing a beard trim themselves versus taking it to a barbershop? I would've guessed anything over .5 inch but here GB knocked off a ton of beard himself ...

I sleep heavy on my right side, and always noticed, and other people have too that my right side seems “thinner” and I had a barber point that out to me and I hadn’t even brought it up so maybe it is true

My wife's a professional hairdresser. Hair and beard on point. She said to buy a purple or blue shampoo to brighten the silver in both hair and beard....diminishes the yellow.👍😁👍
