This is very interesting. I have been studying the Word of Wisdom for 7 years now. I have felt very strongly that the Lord wants people to better follow the Word of Wisdom so they can be prepared for His coming. I do think your understanding of temporal salvation may be off though based on what I have learned from my studies of the scriptures as well as the scientific community, but that's my own personal interpretation and revelation. We simply can't prepare of His coming in the temporal state most of us are in living on the medications that are vital to our health. I wish people knew that 80% of diseases are reversible, and there is definitely science to back it up. I have clients who work with me that come off ALL of their medications in a matter of months. I'm currently working on a course to help people better understand how truly important the Word of Wisdom is and how it is key to temporal salvation and all the blessings God promises us if we chose to live it in its fullness.

Minor detail 0:46 - - The Word of Wisdom is a commandment, (and not just a principle) as taught by the church. Here are 3 examples: From the Doctrine and Covenants Institute Instructor's Manual, Religion 324-325, Lesson 36, The Word of Wisdom: Theme Analysis The Lord gave a “word of wisdom” to the Saints of the latter days (D&C 89:2). The Word of Wisdom was initially given as a “greeting; not by commandment” (vs. 2). Later it became formalized by the Lord as a commandment. Obedience to it is within the capacity of even the weakest of Saints. This is also taught in Institute, The Gospel and the Productive Life, Teacher's Manual, Religion 150, Chapter 12, Observing the Laws of Physical Health. And as a last example, it's taught in Teachings of the Presidents of the Church, David O. McKay, Chapter 11, Living the Word of Wisdom. There are other lessons and examples of course. Gospel Topics for instance. Maybe you'll think it's not actually important to distinguish it as a commandment, that principles and commandments are virtually the same, but I thought I'd share.
I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this but the part where you mentioned the great eagle made me think it refers to the United States which was established so the church (the woman) could be established. And despite some confrontation in the early days the USA and more particularly the constitution, has sheltered and protected the church. It also makes me think the ezras eagle video has some meaning to this even if we don't fully understand it yet.

Your videos talk about the time when “we will flee to Zion”. I wish you would discuss that topic more in depth. Now that we are a worldwide church, how will it be possible for all the saints to flee to Zion? Surely there must be another meaning than the literal idea that all will go to Missouri for protection.
There will be places prepared for the righteous all around the world while it falls into collapse and the literal City of Zion is beginning to be established. Eventually though all the remaining righteous will be brought, either by the spirit or the 144,000, to that Holy City before Christ comes in glory. Right now we are to “flee to Zion” as a spiritual fleeing. Our homes, church and the temple are to be places of “Zion/refuge” until that time.
"Health in the navel; and marrow to the bones" is a spiritual blessing that means we will have the guidance of the Holy Ghost and spiritual protection, so long as seek to follow these principles with fullness of heart.
Scott, I don't believe it's simply a spiritual blessing. The word of wisdom was given to keep our bodies physically strong, cognitive, and able to answer the promptings that the spirit will give us. One cannot spiritually be at their best without physically striving for the same. I have noticed the spiritual difference in not only understanding but as well as receiving revelation when I've done something like had too much sugar (go research what happens when your body has around 50 grams of sugar).

A 4 hour video is only 2 hours on double speed. Once you have the short videos you should do a long one. You could also make a playlist that shows them in the order you think they should be in but I expect the long version would be intertwined.

Very interesting! I absolutely missed that in section 89. And we also see certain of these words at a critical place in the temple! I believe the event in D&C 88: 95-96 has a lot to do with “mounting up on eagles wings”.
I know the blessings of the word of wisdom are great! I have chronic lyme disease and have trouble walking without assistance. My body hurts from head to toe so I lay flat most of the time. I get called in to work on the temple baptismal fonts, relief work in the temples. I asked for a blessing while doing this work. Prayer I am so sick but while I'm working I can stand all day long on concrete and sit on the concrete floor. My work is quite physical. I can do it from early morning until late afternoon and arise again refreshed without consequence of my prayer day of hard work. Yes I can run and not be weary and walk in that fate. The Lord will bless us greatly while we follow his Commandments and keep his word of wisdom. I see many good Saints around me slipping away because they're sneaking coffee or even doing it openly, then soon after they lose their testimony. I think this is the hidden treasure that is promised, a testimony! It is not a light thing to ignore the word of wisdom.

When you talk about revelations 12:14 the first thing that comes to my mind is how the church is the women in revelations and the Great Eagle is America. I think there could be some connection with ezras eagle there.
I believe this applies much more broadly than for those who go to Missouri. Not every "Saint" will be going to Missouri prior to the coming of Christ. The world will be filled with faithful Saints and just as our modern prophets have told us, Zion is wherever the church is expanding. There will be a central place for Zion, but there will be many Zions all over the world.
I like the explanation of running and not being weary in the end tribulation time. Makes sense. May I kindly point out that although the wow was not by way of commandment at first, it later became a commandment in 1851 to all saints. Thanks for sharing.
The Word of wisdom is indeed a commandment. At the time it was given it was not, but since the early part of the 20th century the prophets have taught it as a commandment as evidenced by it being added to the temple recommend questions.

You mention that this 3.5 year period when the two witnesses hold back the invasion of Jerusalem is the time period before the second coming but isn’t it just the time period before Christ’s appearance to the Jews and the splitting of the mount of olives and the great earthquake and not THE second coming? I thought the 2nd coming to the entire world was after this appearance?
@@GospelLessons1 Oh ok I was just a little confused when you kept saying that the mount olives appearance was THE 2nd coming. What I've been pondering is how much time is in between this appearance and THE second coming. If the big earthquake happens at this appearance I imagine earth will be a pretty terrible place to live in between the mount olives appearance and His final appearance. Hopefully we are safely in the storehouse along with the other wheat during this time but I don't know. I've long wondered what being gathered into the storehouse means with regards to the parable of wheat and tares.

I believe he made a mistake in his interpretation because of his zeal to link it to the last days. A better match to the Isaiah verse about eagles wings is Exodus 19:4. The usage of them is much more similar than the verse in Rev. If you look at its use in exodus, then then following vesrse in 89 also has fuller meaning as it speaks about the destroying angel, an event still fresh in the minds of those in Exodus 19. Just as 89 talks about being born up and keeping commandments, Exodus tells us that all this is to prepare us exercise the priesthood and be a holy nation, thus it Isaiah 40 and section 89 are linked revelations about how God is try to help us become more holy. I have alway equated the “run and not be weary…” phrase to mean a reference to a glorious resurrection. If so, these verses are all about How He works with us for our eternal life and immortality.
Think about the other questions in the temple recommend interview. Let's take the first one: "Do you have faith in and a testimony of God, the Eternal Father; His Son, Jesus Christ; and the Holy Ghost?" Is that a commandment? What are the first PRINCIPLES and ordinances of the gospel? Faith is a principle just like the word of wisdom is a principle. Principles are important and certainly the church can require us to live by principles if we are to gain the benefits of the temple, but they are still principles and not commandments. Principles are in many ways higher laws than commandments. Principles tie more powerfully to free agency which makes the blessings even greater in our lives when we live them.
In 1852 it became commandment by revelation through Brigham Young. In the 1930’s it was added to the temple recommend interview questions. The Lord basically gave the Saints about 100 years to overcome any addictions they had and generationally eliminate unhealthy substances from their lives and develop a culture of health within the church. Drinking wine, coffee, and tea were culturally built into many different nationalities joining the church during that time period too. I love how the Lord gives us time to apply His word.
I love the timeline reference. I've seen the pattern of the seven days of creation in there as well. A way of re-creating one's health if that is what is desired.
Emanuel Swedenborg (an inspired reformer before the restoration) totally breaks open the inner meaning of the seven days of creation. The seven days of creation is the evolution of every man as he moves towards becoming a new man in Christ/born again.
So many great viewpoints from different angles. We should always consider that what we know is probably only part of the narrative playing out. For instance, did you know that the 3.5 years in of tribulation in the US is DIFFERENT than the 3.5 years of tribulation in Israel? How do these timelines interact (if they do)? So many things to be aware of. So, in short, unless we have had some kind of revelation on these matters for ourselves (or experience), we should all be careful of interpretations based on study alone. Interesting as they might be. But there are some definite commonalities of general descriptions of this chapter among all view points.
Where’s the evidence the 3.5 year tribulation periods are different? I don’t disagree. Just don’t know which scriptural references exists to back up this idea.

The Lord has warned the Saints not to go in haste. If/when we need to go to Missouri, we will be called to it then, not before. Zion is in her Stakes, wherever they are found in the world now, not in Missouri yet. We are commanded to follow the prophet, follow the commandments, be prepared spiritually and temporally, and wait upon the Lord. We have other things to do before going to Missouri namely, gathering Israel. That is our current responsibility.

I know what is written but we hear so much lately that we will be gathered in the Stakes of Zion and in our homes... 16 million Saints cannot flee to Missouri?? I've noticed and studied these word & phrase links to other scriptures for many years. Well done. These are the layered meanings of the scriptures we are instructed by the Lord to feast upon. One reason the Lord specifically mentioned the Book of Isiah as being "Great". Most word links, either before Isaiah's time or during & after his time, are centered upon that book. In the BOM, The Lord gives us HIS instructions with regard to the Book of Isaiah and the leaders of our church give the opposite. They tell us not to worry about the "Mysteries" of the gospel, when in fact the Lord Commands that we search them out, as per it is a "Kings" purogative to do that. Hummm...."King"....Another word link to the Endowment. Are we ALL to become Kings & Queens & search these mysteries out, or are we to remain the Obedient Subjects to false kings, (leaders), who discourage what the Lord Commands ? The leaders are VERY concerned about these mysteries but for a much different REASON as described in the Book of Isaiah, & discourage us from discovering their Plans, which are referred by John in the Book of Revelation as being the "Mystery of Iniquity" , & warning us of in the BOM as the "Secret Combination" establishing itself OVER us. BEWARE ! The leaders know secrets that the average member has NO CLUE IS COMING !
