Alfred showed the same behaviour And it broke my heart that in the Uhtred had to win Bebbunburg himself and they didn’t give it to him That being said Alfred and Edward were great kings and the series didn’t show that, I’m so mad at them for that

If you think about it, for us to be believe this COULD have happened, we sort of needed Alfred and Edward to not officially grant Uhtred his birthright otherwise we’d all be saying well why didn’t that appear in the chronicles of time? Why do we never hear of the warrior uhtred in real life? It kind of reminds me of video game RPGs where you play as a character and meet famous historic characters and help them win battles or achieve huge things then wonder how it doesn’t break real life ‘canon’, if that makes sense?

@@Killerkwoi13 I mean, the in canon reason for Alfred to not write it is because "Uthred is a heathen" but there's no in canon reason for Edward to write about that. Like, it doesn't help that Uthred was granted land by Alfred, and was then stripped of that land by Alfred for breaking the law.
