Guess what. This Movie is a Project by 80s Fans. They collected money on Kickstarter. They had barely 1,5 months to shoot the Movie. The actors did it almost for free and didn't got paid. I was a few days on the set and can tell you about it.

Its a vanity project by RU-vidrs and it shows. 😂

This generation very soft can't handle real blood or death they will do fake blood. While bloodsport 1980 was real scenes and stuff.

@@tomwalker8944 Yeah, I think that it was watchable at least once The movie had several issues though, like the main character should've been more charismatic and the female fighter should've not fought men, but rather other women.

@@nanoano88 Yeah I finished it, and I've certainly seen worse movies, but I was honestly expecting it to be more of a 6.5/10 than a 4/10 I guess. I absolutely agree the main character has the charisma of a rock though. I think that's where it really missed that 80's/90's mark. There was no love interest, sexual tension, or side story to the whole thing really. While people criticize some of the old MA movies for wasting time with that stuff I think this movie really highlights how badly they are needed. Without it, you just don't care about the characters because they don't seem human. As to the female fighter, honestly, it didn't bother me too much just because I think they did a pretty good job with her chorography of making it "look" like she could have pulled it off. The 3 fights her had were really the best cases they could have used her in. A big guy that was too slow to touch her, an old guy I could beat in a fight, and her breaking her hand with a badly aimed punch. I'm pretty damn anti woke, and HATE that stuff in movies. I think here they did manage to pull off 80's girl power more than 2020's woke nonsense though. If anyone was out of place it was casting Cynthia Rothrock as the sensei. The protag obviously had a fighting style that had nothing to do with anything she was teaching, and it just made no sense. I also think they missed a huge opportunity in not using David Yeung as the antag as he'd have fit the part so much better. I don't know who this Mike Derudder guy is, but he wasn't a "you love to hate him" villain. He was just annoying.

@@tomwalker8944 I rated this movie 6/10 because new movies from Hollywood these latest 10 years are so much more woke and badly written than they used to be. BTW, yeah, some love interest would be good, this movie should also have had a comic relief and more fighting-scenes.

He also hasn't gotten any better at acting lol.
