Seriously. Joel's actions on why he sacrificed or didnt take that "cure business" seriously, whether he believed it or not, he couldnt accept the fact that it will cost Ellie's life. And "to travel half across the country with someone" its literally impossible not to become soft at one point. Especially if the kid youre smuggling somewhat resembles or reminds u what it was like to be a dad and what it was like to have a daughter. He treated her the same way he would treat his daughter Sarah. Im not saying what he did was justified. Im just saying, if i was Joel, I wont be able to bare sacrificing my own daughter for the majority of people that I dont even give a fuck about. So he killed all those people to get Ellie out. And Abby's thirst for revenge. Im not justifying it. Im just saying, your father was harmless, doesnt know anything about fighting or killing because all he did was just being a medic. Imagine? Youre about to do the surgery, a bloodied man(obviously u know before getting in that room, there are tons of soldiers guarding, so u expect that he got through all of them by force) he held a scalpel on Joel as if thats gonna save his life from a mass murderer whos heavily armed. Abby and Jerry's life was just peaceful and was just doing what they think humanity needs: searching for a cure. And u can tell, Jerry didnt wanna kill Ellie for the cure but if its to save millions of lives, he would. It was his responsibility as the only known doctor there to do what must be done. But then Joel killed them. And since then on, Abby couldnt sleep, live and even be happy or contented with Owen. That thirst for revenge cost her her life and lovelife. Owen only wanted to be happy with Abby. But Abby couldnt stop. So she buffed her body to prepare for a lot of battle to avenge her father and protect her group. And for Ellie. To witness your father figure take the final blow in the head right in front of u is just so fucking fuck. That will forever stain your memory. And thats when she felt all those hatred that Abby felt when her dad got killed. And like Abby, she couldnt stop. And that cost her her peace and lovelife with Dina, too. And for people questioning why did Ellie get so mad at Joel for years. Its because she has survivor's guilt. Since she was young, shes witnessed people she cared about die, leave, get bit and turn. And she was questioning why doesnt she just die like them. And when her "death" was supposed to be for "sacrifice" and Joel saved her, she felt as if that was the only thing that couldve made her miserable life meaningful because she believes shes meant to be the cure for humanity and Joel took that from her. If she was gonna die, which she wanted to from the very beginning, she wouldve wanted to, for the better cause and the betterment for all. And for Dina. When she and Ellie were about to leave the graveyard after visiting Joel, she said to Ellie "if u go, I go" and then people be raging why she left or let Ellie leave. Hello. When she said that, she literally was willing to give everything to help Ellie. But then, when she got JJ, she knew she couldnt risk that child's life and thats why she just wanted to have a peaceful life with JJ and Ellie but Ellie couldnt. And thats why she let her go if thats what Ellie really wanted. Again, Im not justifying anybody. Im just saying if I were in their shoes, Id say Id do it. And Id do it again. Also. Jesus Christ why are people so retarded. Sending death threats to actors and actresses because they hated the characters they portrayed. Fuck off. Hate the characters but not the actors/actresses.

So hating Abby doesn’t mean people don’t understand her motives , it’s just that she killed Joel a character that pretty much everyone love in tlou fanbase.

We know why she did it and maybe we also do the same thing in her situation but I personally know my self in Joel and Ellie's side and when I see Abby does what right after Joel saves her life it makes me angry. And the most annoying thing is that game make us spend 10 hours in Abby side and i'm not even enjoying the game in that side and I just want it to be done to be back to Ellie and when I see game want me to fight Ellie...
