Lol just so you know, that last clicker (they are Stage 3 of infection) Joel shot at twice? The first shot actually made contact with the head, so he was dead on with his aim. It's just that with clickers, the head is pretty strong and even a direct shot to the face with a powerful weapon will at times only break off a chunk of the mold, leaving the brain unharmed. On top of how aggressive and fast they are to zone in on you once they hear you, this makes them pretty scary in combat. And it's why Joel and Tess seemed scared of encountering one in the first place. In the game, it's usually best to sneak up on them or avoid them in general...not unloading your clip into it especially if there's more than one or two in the area 😅

The Clickers look so much like they did in the game and the noise too. Literally had me in tears watching this episode. Naughty dog are geniuses.

Remember how Joel and his daughter dodged everything with flower? The pancake mix, the neighbours biscuits (who got infected), the cake he didnt bring home,.. all linked to the infected flour plant in Jakarta.

Part of the reason it's been described as "so amazing" or "oh my god" is because it's ability to stick to the source material and enhance on it.

there are 2 main reasons why this has so much praise from the start. 1- most adaptations are not so good. many times someone does game adaptations ends up messing up the story, however, the creator of the game is also one of the writers of the show and said they will keep with the source and not diverge much from it. The 1st episode was realy close to the original only changing small details, but keeping the same plot, so people are happy for that. 2- since they are following the original story, people who played the game know the story already. This game won pretty much all wards that there was to win and it is considered by many one of the best (if not THE best) story in video games. With that in mind, and believing that they keep the word of following the original, the people who played expect the story remain as amazing as before. So the argument "the plot as yet to be developed" doesnt work, since the plot was already made, 10 years ago, in 2013 Now, of course they have plenty of episodes to mess up, but we hope they dont. specially with the 2 directors/writers they have. As i said, one of the directors/writers of the show is the creator of the game. The other one is a respected director who said to be a huge fan of the original game and to have played it plenty of times. Thos factors give hope to us fans. Also this kinda answers your question on the end of the previous episode's reaction. You asked if playing the game gives spoilers. The answer is yes, its the same story.

Btw these "zombies" are not actually zombies. They are not dead, and once they die, they cannot attack again. The Cordyceps only works on living beings, its only purpose is to keep spreading the infection. They have shown us that the infection can also be spread if one of the infected people with those gross fungi things coming out of their mouth breathe directly into an uninfected person (like the old lady in episode 1, and here with Tess)

This was filmed in my home city and province!!! Most of the capitol building is actually the Legislation building in Edmonton, Alberta, and the city shots are Calgary. Most of the mountain areas and rural towns are near Canmore and Banff. 😁

Walking dead is a good show but only the first few seasons I liked maybe up to season 5 or 6 then I stopped watching but the first 3 seasons or more are incredible

The show is trying to be more realistic, and the realism is that people are trained to shoot center mass, very few people are sharp shooters, and even those people aren't going to land head shots like crazy in a panic. Even then, fungus is a made from a material that is similar to armor (think insect/etc exoskeletons. same material), and is resistant, so one bullet, isn't going to be a clean shot. Your "one bullet, why aim below the head" was just dumb. Especially considering that these are living people, and you can kill them easier with body shots than the multiple head shots it takes to kill them in game and show. I normally wouldn't say anything, but your smugness when you said it annoyed me.

I think this show is mainly getting the buzz and attention it is because of how close it is to the source material (the video game). They even hired the same voice actors they used in the same to make all the infected noises, have cameos of the voice actors that played both Joel and Ellie in the game, etc to make it feel as real as possible since this is so many people’s favorite game. While some things were changed to make more sense in a real life setting or just expand ideas, it’s the closest adaptation ever released in my opinion. I think you would have a closer connection to it if you had played the game(s) before. It’s interesting seeing people totally unfamiliar with it watch the show and get their opinions about it 😊🖤
