I loved ellie smartmouth in part 1 wish we saw more of that in part 2 with Dina Jesse Joel Tommy ellie knew how get people relax and laugh her her smart ass remarks .
Many people miss how important meeting Bill was for Joel. It made him realise that it was better to have relationships with people and risking to lose them than avoid meeting people at all and ending up like him.
@@propanenaccessories No, actually he was slowly opening to Ellie but Sam's death and Henry's suicide made him stop, as it made him realize what could happen if he got too "attached" to Ellie: that same fear of loss that drove Henry to kill himself after Sam got infected.
The scene would have been so much different with Bill, Real Joel and Real Tommy. They would save her, kill the fuck out of her, and take all the utility things and trap their base in case someone wasnt in there and will come back
RageRandy Gaming Yeah, nice observation there but since ellie used it on bill it should no longer be at full durability right? I picked it up with full durability though.
@@insomniac41289 there’s was less dialogue in this section of the game than there was in the show that did more to attract us to the characters. The letter that frank wrote, alone, made me like the character (and feel more sorry for) more than the hour I watched on the tv show.
Bill is a great example of a character with so much depth, acted so well and the script for him is fantastic. I really felt for him when you found his partner, Frank - that was heartbreaking. Joel is coming back to life and hope with his growing love for Ellie, Bill's was taken from him and he is struggling to come back.
Bill is paranoid, gets nervous, and even hesitant when helping out familiar faces. It's like he said, looking after someone else will get you killed. So, it's understandable why he's an asshole. Joel is just fortunate that Ellie isn't some toddler who'd run out on the street.
Fun fact: Ashley Johnson (Ellie) actually hit W. Earl Brown with the "toy" pipe they were using for shooting this scene, but he managed to stay in-character despite the actual pain. Neil Druckmann himself complimented him on that, stating that he "took the hit like a soldier".
Well i’d imagine she would become more of a “hardened suvivor” rather than the peppy little girl she formerly was. So it is in line with her character development.
Ehhhhh I don’t either, but I like the shows version to show why these fantasies about love we have are all fake, and the love comes from surviving together in the world, not closed off from it. That’s why Bills a dick in both the game and the show, he’s too scared to leave and have an adventure of his own. So he hides away.
I hope not. Bill was my favorite side character in the game, and his arc was done after Joel and Ellie leaved, he doesn't need to apear anymore, that will destroy anything that Naughty Dog achieved with his story. I hope the next game just focus on introducing new and interesting survivors like him.
Well, You could say that since the character we will be playing is Ellie, but I really want to see Bill (hopefully) meet Ellie and Bill asks about his "Magazine" it would be a funny moment for the TLOU part 2 😁
@@zeikigai6638 It would be awesome lol, especially if Ellie reveals to him that she's gay herself, making the stealing of his magazine entirely pointless XD
This is the OG. The new episode will not change the Bill I know and love. His love story wasn't bad, but they really robbed of us of this scene and that's what I hated the most.:/
Still hope they get to adapt this scene their own way tho, like when joel gets into tommy's territory and they meet again. Would be hell of a waste not to bring this in live action.
Best thing that came out of that episode was the beginning montage with Bill. The way that shit played out was fucking A. Not saying the other flashbacks were bad. They expanded his character for the better, I reckon. But that opening is exactly how I remembered Bill. A nutty badass.
The first cutscene with Bill is better than the entirety of TLOU2.

baole58 they way they showed how Joel gets killed. Honestly to many fault to count them all. But lets start at the Gate where Joel,Tommy amd Abby enters this Building Abbys Gang is hiding. They were just their with the Gate wide open. Like wtf.? How did they know and timed it so perfectly. Second Joels and Tommys backpack dissappear during the cutscene leaves them with no Gun. Tommy gives up their names even they know damn well the fireflies must be pissed. And man why a fucking Golf Club.? There are literally dozends of examples of lazy writing. The whole ViOlEnCe and rEvEnGe is bad thing is uncreative. Also the manipulative marketing pisses me off. They made it look like Joel goes with Elli in present time. But in the game it was Jesse and not Joel like in the trailer. Man i hate this story to much to mention all this other shit. If you liked it that totally fine. But man i played the first one in 2013.What a Masterpiece. And this new one i don‘t even wanna play a second time. Fuck Abby still hate that bitch.

baole58 the charackters felt REAL, because they made belivable shit. Not like Joel stands in the middle of the room surround by armed strangers, and tommy even gives information about Jackson, that could hurt the people in jackson. What if they planned to attack jackson and have a larger group behind? Its so dumb honestly. They could made up 1000 scenarios how Joel dies but not like this dumb shit. Its lazy and reqlly a 12year old could come up with that simple dumb idea. If you don‘t know why the writing and dialoge between charackters was a masterpiece in the first game, no wonder you like that shit. You probably played as Abby and playd with that Dog twice in this game, and as Ellie you have to kill the same dog, then you though „ oh my god Ellie is so bad she just kills the dog Abby is so attached to. Man fuck off with that manipulative shit. They faild hard to get emotions for Abby. And they tried it with cheap and lazy ways to make you feel for her. Look Maybe your standard for Storytellig is just very Low. ReVeNgE iS bAd , ViOlEnCe is BaD 🤦🏼♂️ well thanks Naughty Dog i didn‘t know that. You must be young or didn‘t played the first game in 2013 and realized why its a Masterpiece. Now go and take a Bath in this LGBT Politics thriving Game. They made it with Movies and now with Games. Fucking Pedo weird Hollywood pricks. They are so full of themselves.
They don’t see him again, so they are focusing on the game straight as possible. The cool zombie moments to come with Ellie and Joel will be beautiful. The shows already getting cooking these next 3 episodes are all going to be BANGERS for sure
hadnt o A majority of the people who were there for the development of the first game don’t even work for the company anymore. So technically ND, of today at least, didn’t create Bill.
The game gave us this action-packed scene full of tension and suspense...and the show gives us an hour of boring-ass gay romance between two hairy-ass old men. fml. At least we'll always have the games.
Say whatever you want about the romance, I could care less. You can't deny the very first flashback was amazing for Bill's character in both the mediums.
@@AllanBaguinon you dumb motherfucker, I'm talking about the Home Depot sequence. Damn. The people are right. Goddamn homophobes run rampant in these threads
@@thegageinator805 Him going to Home Depot and all that was fucking badass. The romance was alright but I don't think it needed the whole episode and could have been shorter with no happy ending which ruined it imo.
I know they feed off each other .it got me thinking what of bill was Anna boyfriend that got Anna pregnant for ellie but they broke up because bill found out how dirty firefly were but Anna refuse leave because she was working on cure bill did not want wait just gut feeling I had because way they both acted to one other.
Bill was right about one thing, Ellie would get Joel Killed. It always your friend Bill that’s right about everything, always listen to your friend David and Bill guys:
@@thatsbanter9887 Basically I'm saying that the mountains of salt over this game is unwarranted. No, it's not better than the first game by any stretch. I've played the first countless times on PS3 and PS4 because it's such an amazing game. The sequel has flaws, and I'll probably replay it just once for trophies, but I'm not blinded by hero worship to the extent that I disparage the entire game and discredit the story.
They really turned bill into a filler episode whyyhy??? 😭 😭 😭 his scenes ont he game was some of the most action pa ked of the first game!!! Frick you druckman!!
We'll never get to see Joel, Ellie and Bill together in the show. I'll never understand the thought process of people who make adaptations and decide to remove some of the coolest parts of the original material.
Besides Joel and Ellie he was my fav character in first the last of us . So charismatic that after playing later chapters I was sad that Bill wasn't around in the game anymore . Perfect example how to write interesting side character.
I finally began to watch HBO's Deadwood. While watching the show I noticed the character Dan looked and sound so familiar. Finally I realized, "Holy crap! That's Bill from The Last of Us." W. Earl Brown is a great actor and his character in Deadwood has some of the best scenes with Ian McShane.
I love how we learn more about Joel through Bill and Tommy. Since Joel isn't very talkative and uses subtext frequently, who he is gets fleshed out by the efforts of the other characters. Specifically, Bill and Tommy seem to reflect parts of who Joel is. Tommy is a foil in the sense that he's similar to his brother, albeit with a greater conscience, stronger morals, and a hopeful vision of the future. Conversely, Bill is jaded and selfish and does terrible things to others so that he can survive. Where Tommy resembles the good parts of Joel, Bill resembles Joel's ugly side. I think it's really smart how these NPCs were written.
This is one of the best section in the game (probably top 3), i love their interaction. This section what makes me like Ellie characters, so was Joel (I'm sure of it, because he praises Ellie in the end of this section) This section what makes me more into this game, it was bring smile on my face :) But, HBO changed this section into a depressed type story, still a great one tho.
