Jesus I think Part 2 would have really really really benefited from including a DLC of what Joel did in those 20 years. This would 1. Satisfy the people who craved for more Joel is this game and 2. Build on his character even more, show us stuff we didn't even know about him, making us want to go back and replay the games with a brand new perspective. Would've been so so good.
I think it wouldn't work out well in a DLC, I guess it could be a good idea for a 'The Last of Us Part 3', where we see all the stories of Joel and Tommy between 2013 and 2033. The Last of Us Part 2 introduced new characters and new possible future stories. I think they did the right thing with both games.
@@hassanjohnson7675 well yeah of course, I said the 20 years that we didn’t see, so Tess and bill would be there somewhere, and other characters that die that we don’t know about
@@gdiego135 talking about bill and tess i noticed in tess's list that the meetings with bill started several weeks apart then shortened to fewer weeks and joel probably arrived at bill's town 2 weeks earlier than he should (in her list it says 3 more weeks and I'm assuming it took around a week for joel to walk to bill's town). wonder what they would get this time since tess complained about the last drop being too mid
They ruined the story honestly and no it's not "REALISTIC" I'm not even gonna point that shit out but there's no interest in the last of us any characters we cared about are either ruined or dead and the fact that they most likely have to resort to a prequel game shows that they really missed the mark on part ll
I really wonder what happened to the Boston QZ after Joel and Tess left in Part I. Was there a civilian uprising? Did Marlene leaving for Salt Lake City allow for FEDRA to claim victory over the area? Did FEDRA pull their forces out completely and abandon the civilians to fend for themselves? It’s also sad to think that so many people who were close to Joel and Tess in the Boston QZ never saw them again after they left the wall and met Ellie. They probably think that either FEDRA captured them or that they died. (Eventually that was true 😢) In Part II it’s pretty much assumed that after the 5 year jump, FEDRA and the Fireflies no longer exist anywhere. But we eventually find out about Santa Barbara
God Of War regarding Kratos would probably be a good next video. Since the next game is coming out soon. And it gives new players a understanding on why Kratos is the way he is. (His past, his emotions etc)
Instead of The Last of Us Part II, we should've got a game that takes time BEFORE the first The Last of Us. A prequel, in which we play as Joel on the first years of the infection, keeping Tommy alive, heading to Boston, meeting Tess and making some deals with Bill. Can you imagine playing as Tommy and Tess on some parts? That would be great!
i had this Theory a while back that Norway was left mostly unharmed due to having their own supply of basically any Natural Food Source like Veggies, Meats and Fish etc. but when the infection got closer, they cut themselves off completely with ruthless killings on the borders of Russia and Sweden, using high exlposive ordnance to create literal canyons that noone could cross. i wonder if this theory could be made into a game on it's own. would be hell'a interesting to have an Episodic game set in other countries, Norway being one of them. the UK as well would be VERY interesting to see how the Fungal Infection affected life there.
Britain likely fell very fast due to our dependence on exports and high population density. However people in rural areas such as the Yorkshire dales or the Scottish mountains would likely build settlements similar to jackson. Infected likely became shambles due to the high rain levels.
That does not sound like a fun game idea at all, maybe a short story or something but how would you play through that? Just boring even for post apocalyptic standards.
Funny thing is I also sent an email to naughty dog highlighting the 20 years following Sarahs death, which gives them a perfect window of opportunity to continue the series. I hope they see this !💯
My thoughts were that if they wanted to do a story on how revenge destroys oneself and those around they could have show Joel as a hunter trying g to find the CO who gave the order to shoot him and Sarah with Tommy initially supporting him but as the years go on he ends up viewing Joel's actions as meaningless violence and joins up with the Fireflies. Show Joel getting g increasingly detached from people and his actions.
9:22 I do belive joe tried as their is a conversation in the hotel after ellie sees 2 dead body and tell joel "guess they took the easy way" which joel respond "it ain't esay for most it's better than a clicker or hunter doing it but trust me it ain't easy"
loved the video, had it on in the background when sketching. Clear information and great delivery! That sudden gunshot-audio was a sudden scare though (thematically fitting xD)
They even have an optional conversation. Joel- " haven't been out here in awile" tess- " it's like we are on a date " joel- " well I am the romantic type " tess- " you've got your ways" even tess before she dies says... there's enough here for you to do this for me. They were definitly romantic
You aren't wrong. I'd rather much choose to be with FEDRA than any of the other factions, they'll just treat you like crap. Heck, I'd even be cool with being at Tommy's camp.
I just wanna point something out. The Salt Lake City are in ruins, but Boston or at least a portion of it is still surviving so it seems like FEDRA are doing better than any zone the fireflies have control of
I wish naughty dog would explore more of the universe or the 20 years leading up to the first game, they did such a good job with the human factions and conflicts.
Just beat Part 1 and very close to the platinum. Realized I'm way more into TLOU than I thought. Gonna replay Part2 for the Platinum as well. Hopefully we get a PART 3 someday
@@georgel760 a game should be rated on story, gameplay, music etc... not the sexuality of the cast. but you wouldn't be mature enough to be bigger than that.
Oh yeah, one of the original plans for Abby’s connection to him was to have her be a survivor of one of his ambushes. Joel was a baaaaad dude for a long time. Makes sense that would eventually catch up to him
Of course, this is a nightmare world, where you live your life knowing things will never go back to what they used to be. But, imagine what if humanity found a way to wipe the CBI infection and declare that pandemic over, rebuild what was lost and start anew - it would be, perhaps, humanity's greatest victory, ever.
There are 8 million people in New York, the city also consumes a shit ton of flour, mostly in the form of deep dish pizza's and New York is a hub for immigration. New York in TLOU is completely fucked.
I've been playing games since the ZX Spectrum and was enraptured by pixel graphins and bleep-blop sound effects and to many years later experience many different gaming platofmrs TLOU in many different ways for myself created a moment in the present and what can be for the future in terms of technology. The game is a filimic voyage of discovery as an art form that most people are aware of so it has some familiar narrative landmarks but it breaks out of that with the player input and that for myself raises expectations for what's to come whilst being pleased with what has happened so far over the past 35 years of on and off gaming. BIG love to ND and Push Sqaure
I saw all the lore possible played amd beat 1 and part 2 many times still play factions multi-player too this day. I like the research I did through Seattle's hospital and especially ground zero I am most interested in the serphites prophets back story and marine and how she came too be queen of the fireflies
My friends ask me why I take this game to the Heart. During 2013-14 when I only had the ps3 with no wifi so no ps online- so i only got to play story based games- and The Last Of Us was on of them- as whet a 12 year old boy this game was horrifying and emotional- parents were a lul alcoholics so during those times Tlou would calm and smooth me dowm. This game is truly amazing
As expected, there are complaints about part 2. I expected to be heartbroken the moment they announced the game, it’s not like the first one ended happy.
The first game was so good I hoped they would never make a sequel. That's the highest praise I can give as it ended so well for me that I wanted to just remember the game as a piece of interactive art/storytelling crystallised in time. Because once something is successful there are always greedy money people who are the antithesis of the creatives and want a piece of that pie. They then go on to tell the creatives how they can make more money if only they add ingredients the extremely uncreative money people promise will help. And then there's always the risk that politics will creep into a game. I mean, you wouldnt risk the significant chance that a few people making something may have differing values to the massive amount of people who will play your game would you? Surely you wouldn't want to ruin the purity of gameplay for politics and the risk of sticking your middle finger up at all the fans who helped make you a success by parting with the money they gained by giving time and labour away to have earnt it?
That was great. Loved it 🥰. Every time I hear that soundtrack, I’m overcome with feelings of somberness and despair. These games are just too damn good 👍
Joel didn't "deserve" to die, which is what fans of the second game's story would say. If Naughty Dog really wants me to buy the idea that Joel is a villain, give me a game which shows Joel around 10 years post-outbreak where he commits terrible crimes.
@@XXAnthonyCarmineXx he didn't murder... they were preventing him from saving his daughter. Joel was the only person next to Riley to value ellies life...rather than what she could provide humanity
@@pushsquare The technology of the show is very 2003. No mention of smart phones or social media as existed by 2013. They're all reading physical newspapers in the first episode.
@@3506Dodge What?? Joel has a smartphone in the opening section lying on the counter where Sara reads the missed calls. There is also a lot of the technology in houses in 2033 that matches the 2013 range such as the TV's. People still read physical newspapers in 2024 so I don't understand that comment.
So what happened to the President in the Last of Us universe? I cant find an answer to that. Also obama is shown in a picture in the game but his face is covered and so is another spot but its obvious that its Obamna
In the first 20 years At the 2 year mark where bloaters started to appear Would be very interesting to see, then again the show did sort of highlight the reaction of a bloater tbh
@@AmariMarvelous I think at this point its mandatory they give a 1.5/prequel just round out a trilogy or quadrilogy. imagine a new character is introduced that can roll into part 4 and finish out the series with 4 games or start a new spinoff.
@@lpvgs-817 I agree. They can split up the dev teams where one team work on the prequel and the other team work on Part 3 and that can finish the quadrilogy or the universe of that game series.
@@AmariMarvelous heck yea I wish I knew what they were up to or could tell them what the fans want a 1.5 and 3 would be sooo nice to have. I guess they are working on faction but we haven't seen anything of it yet its taking forever but hopefully will get some updates soon.
Naughty dog makes a game everyone loves. Naughty dog makes a game everyone hates. Now watch naughty dog make part 3 about Joel’s early days and people will eat that shit up like hot cakes. They are marketing the right way
