"The Last of Us is a 2013 action-adventure game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. Players control Joel, a smuggler tasked with escorting a teenage girl, Ellie, across a post-apocalyptic United States. The Last of Us is played from a third-person perspective. Players use firearms and improvised weapons, and can use stealth to defend against hostile humans and cannibalistic creatures infected by a mutated fungus in the genus Cordyceps. In the online multiplayer mode, up to eight players engage in cooperative and competitive gameplay. The Last of Us Part II is an action-adventure game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4. Set five years after the events of The Last of Us (2013), players control 19-year-old Ellie, who comes into conflict with a mysterious cult in a post-apocalyptic United States." (Wikipedia)

Man to be honest this is the only game that i struggle to view it as a game, its more then a movie also...its a real living, breathing experience, i didnt play it, i experience it, its hard to put it in words. I love everything about it, from the lore to the small details that strucks you and manage to push your buttons in a way no other game did. Apart from all this emotions the game, from a technical perspective its amazing, graphics, gameplay, animation, all its top notch. Also the story and the plot its mind blowing, i love the fact that the producers did not go with the flow and with what fans expected and instead they took a whole new approach and delivered a true masterpiece that would be talked about for years to come.

It's almost like no one is happy anymore unless it is exactly what they want with all these big franchises. This was truly a work of art. It is clear that everyone who worked on this put everything they have behind this game. From their personal stories to the craft they have mastered over the years. If people had just let go of their assumptions of what the game should be and delve into the story with an open mind then it would most likely be a much better experience for them.

Yeah, it's a shame what happened to this game, I litterally watched no trailer, no news, for keeping the surprise, I played the game, absolutely loved it, and then went on the internet, and saw all thoses LGBT discussions, thoses debate about Neil's writing skills, debates here and there for really poor reasons, when I played the game I saw no feminist propaganda, no LGBT propaganda, and no lack of writing skills whatsoever. I just saw a game that tells a story about the cycle of hatred, and it tells it very well.

My only problem with it is: I wanted revenge for Joel, but then I had to play as the killer for like 10 hours and I just wanted to kill this girl I was playing as. The Abby gameplay felt like side quests and I just wanted to get back to the main story.

LOU2 made me feel things I’ve never felt before while playing a game, it challenged my beliefs, triggered my anxieties classic ptsd symptoms, yet I absolutely loved it. I won’t change a thing about it, I feel like Joel failed to protect Sarah and he was going to do everything to protect Ellie, it was as much for him as it was for Ellie. Joel also wanted some sort of redemption, not saying he didn’t care about her he absolutely did, but Joel acted selfishly and also did many things along the way that could have been avoided. As for Ellie as much as I love the character but ever since she found out she was immune she built up this whole idea about saving the world. When Joel saved her she started struggling with the idea of being just another “regular” human being. Abby well, she was just being Abby! Where’s the steroids gang at? Haha. I enjoyed playing with Abby even though I hated her at first, but after seeing both sides of the story her actions made more sense. Beautiful game! My top 5 of all time for sure.

Ellie never got a chance to reconcile, that was sort of the point in my mind - why she was so upset, because the potential was there to make things right again between them. This story was a miserable mess in my opinion, especially the last few hours. It wasn't deep, it wasn't emotional, it was disappointing and eventually cartoonish in it's over the top bleakness. Gameplay and visuals were top tier though.

they didn't like it because it triggered them. they couldn't accept that the characters acted from emotions, they see those actions as unreasonable and from their perspective they aren't wrong. but the characters have a different perspective. abby lost her father and quite frankly ellie did what she had to to survive. you as a player might disagree with those actions but that's okay, because in that moment the character would disagree with you too. it's a game about accepting the truth and truth is emotions can make us act in ways even we might see as unreasonable. that's why many players were mad when ellie doesn't finish her revenge. because from the players perspective she went trough hell and back just to give up and stop, but from ellie's perspective she started to realize what a mistake she made. (and i know some people will point out she killed 100+ people but don't forget that especially such things can't always be counted towards the full kill count considering you in some cases have the choice between going lethal or sneaking past them)

Ive seen a little bit, not alot of why people were bitching and frankly thought these people were naive or just need to feel validated. How that happens thru rancorous hate is beyond me tho. Both parts 1 and 2 were emotionally gripping and the story was impressive in its writing. Im glad to see an outpouring of love for such an accomplishment. (I'm just going to vent right here because the very first 'The Last of Us' game left a heart-warming and bittersweet emotion in my heart that lingered for years until the announcement of the second game; which I was extremely disappointed in--but not for the reasons that one may think. If you want to read, please go right ahead. If not, simply don't read. At the end of the day, this is my personalized opinion and no rebuttal will change the way I feel for the franchise that left a pungent taste in my mouth.) Ellie and Joel's relationship is what developed and flourished beautifully in the first game. I'll never forget when The Last of Us released in 2013 when I was eleven years old, watching my favorite RU-vidrs complete the game until my father was able to get me my own PlayStation 4 that Christmas of 2017. That's when I finally played the remastered version. I adored Ellie, for the bravest and strongest and most fearful yet fearless fourteen-year-old girl that she was. I Joel, and even if the things that he has done was questionable, it is that VERY impression of playing as Joel and understanding the pain of losing his daughter at the beginning of the story. Joel is a hardcore survivor who is intelligently equipped to handle all of the mishaps that occurred in the game, it is those experiences that shaped his character and it is the reason why we adore him and why some of us hate the shit out of Abby. Sarah's death had to have been the most sudden, abrupt, and downright unfair and cruel moments in gaming history. It was when everybody was asking, "When is the girl on the cover going to appear?" and "Is this the girl on the cover?" Sarah's death was meant to pave the way for Joel's progression, even if that progression led to him solely surviving and doing what he can no matter the consequences. Ellie's unique and spunky personality is what led gamers to absolutely adore her, and ultimately care and love her to the extent that you can for a video game character. Her light is what led Joel to realize that he did not want to lose a little girl, so he made the decision to murder those people, those same people who took Ellie's own choice away from her, and those SAME people who did not give two fucks about her life or the impact she's had on those she met. The cure would not have been the end. It would have taken years for them to cure every single human being on the planet, and it would have taken years to kill all of the remaining infected who were too far gone into the infection. The cure would not have solved the problems, in what world can there be a vaccine for fungal infection? I am no virologist, but I have taken pharmaceutical classes and the only thing that prevents fungal infections are antifungal creams, sprays, liquids, and sometimes oral medication. But an intravenous injection? I think not. That trailer of Abby in the Seraphites camp excited me, I was sure that this woman would play an important and positive part in the story, and I was anxious to see where she would assist Ellie in her endeavors because the sole reason I ached to play Part II was because of Ellie and how we can finally see how she grew into herself, finally capable of forceful physical combat initiatives, intelligent creations that she uses to divert the enemy away from her, and how her personality has thrived in response to living beside Joel for so long. Man, was I just waiting for a fantasy, and I say fantasy because my fantasy wasn't that Joel and Ellie would have been together in the end, my fantasy is that Ellie, even if she lost Joel, would successfully become the strong young woman that she was meant to be, terminating Abby and setting an example that if YOU kill someone that is loved, you better expect to get killed. Joel knew that which is why he was prepared for Abby to complete her task. "Why don't say whatever speech you got rehearsed and get this over with?" He knew what was going to happen, he knew and he was fucking prepared for it. But the audacity Abby had to think that she would just get away with it is beyond me. Beyond me, because I don't care about some blonde brute that wants to weasel her way into the franchise like all of a sudden she's important. My connection was with Ellie, and it was still with Ellie no matter the things she's done. Because that's the impact Ellie gave me in the first game, and that is the character loyalty I still have for her now. It wasn't because Abby killed Joel, I understand why she did it. But she didn't express one ounce of remorse, and when she finally clicked in that tied-tight ass braid of hers that Ellie was after her because of what she did, she didn't even apologize. She didn't even try to understand Ellie, and it infuriated me. Mind you I made Ellie kill her multiple times in their fight scene, and I definitely launched Abby off of roofs and made the Seraphites murder her multiple times as well. I didn't care for her, because it would have been fine if she was a side character, not treated as the shiny new character that takes the focus off of Ellie because the second game was to be about ELLIE. Maybe I'm biased, but I don't care. They ruined Ellie, they ruined that spunky, unique personality she had as a child, and they ruined her progression by making her lose everything while leaving Abby with everything that she had before Ellie gave her a taste of her own fucking medicine. Like yeah, how does it feel losing everything you've ever known? How does it fucking feel, Abby? God, I was so angry playing the second game that I threw my controller so many times. And when Ellie let her go, boy that was the end of everything. I would have been satisfied if Ellie and Abby had a final boss fight when both of them were at their strongest state, finally settling the fight when both of them are tired and strained, Abby begging on her knees and apologizing for giving Ellie the same pain that Joel gave her. Then, I would have been satisfied. At the end of the day, Lev needed Abby, and Ellie should have been the one to break the cycle while spitting to Abby's face, "I don't ever want you to cause the same pain to anybody else, the same pain you caused me. This time, if I'm the one to see you again, I will instill that same pain into HIM." Pointing to Lev, Ellie walks away like the strong, powerful woman that she is. But.. we can only dream. And that is the end of my venting. Thank you for those who stuck around this long, my emotions were all over the place. Yes, I know It's only a game. But the same way people are invested into shows and movies, is the same way people can be invested into video games.

En este mundo de supervivencia, no existen ni heroes (como Nathan Drake) o villanos (como Rafe/Lazarevic), solo personas intentando sobrevivir y protegiendo a los suyos.
