I feel like this portrayal of Joel is deliberately made to be a nicer overall person so far. I'm thinking it's either to make what eventually happens in Part II be even more emotional, or to create more shock surrounding what he does towards the end of Part I.
I was really disappointed they didn’t use the “oh he ain’t even hurt” line. Easily my favorite scene and line of the game. That’s a nitpick, but I really wanted that scene to be recreated

I'm so glad I haven't played the game (yet). I'm not saying this about you specifically, Kiwi, but so many who played the game seem to be overly obsessed with what has or hasn't been included in the show. I think it's getting in the way of many from just enjoying the ride. I'm adoring this show so far and I'm glad I'm not worried about how faithful the adaptation is.
It's hard not to compare the two since I've known the whole story and how it ends for years. I probably shouldn't, but can't help it. The fact that its an adaptation is why I'm watching it.
Man, gamers sure do want this show to be identical to the game. Why not just play the game 😂 Edit: to answer your question, this TV show only viewer loves the show. I find the post apocalyptic dystopia genre has been done to death, but this is simply a well done piece of television. Hearing gamers talk about this show makes me glad I never played the games. Reminds me of watching a comic book movie with my comic book reading friends.
You what this show does different from all others? The post apocalipse its not the focus nor it makes the world fucking hell. It feels like its healing.
Always enjoy your vids Kiwi. I notice the gal from "Yellow Jackets" is popping up all over the small screen of late. I'm not familiar with the video game but i think Bella Thorne is a fantastic young actor and couldn't imagine a better choice. Great show, great review!
Tbh this is probably my least favorite episode so far. Definitely isn’t a bad episode but the new villains were definitely meh and not threatening at all. And the main hunter actress wasn’t very good. I actually cringe when she said “kill them all” but other than that great episode still
As a only movie watcher. I watched the 4 episodes thinking I will hate it because there ALL of drama on the last of us. But to be honest it was really great and having a great time with my family watching it every night
