The Last Samurai is one of my favorite films of all time. I think it’s Tom Cruise’ best film by far. The emotion he conveys with playing a veteran and his newly found friendship with Katsumoto is on full display and it’s epic. And obviously the music is perfect by the goat Hans Zimmer
My friend, yes, I was about to leave this exact style of comment. I repeatedly tell people about this movie, it is very unappreciated, although it did do well in the box office which is a surprise for how little people discuss it. When this movie came out I think I saw it three times in theaters. I agree completely that this is not just one of, but the strongest acting roles of Tom Cruise's career, and one of the reason I have become an avid Cruise fan.
@@christian11111 let’s go man. The reason I left this comment is to find people like you. This is one of the few movies that’s not attached to any big fandom that will always stay with me. Every time I watch it, I find something new to appreciate
@@benraeside2237 yes so true. The more I watch it and learn about it the more I appreciate its quality, in all respects. Thanks for the comment, hopefully there will be more like us on here lol
I've lost count as to how many times I've watched this movie. It's simply... beautiful, and so full of meaning. As a kid, sneaking around my parents to see some parts of it on tv, and later on when I got older and managed to watch the movie as a whole, this has got to be one of the most influential ones to me. And the soundtrack is my absolute favourite.
The Last Samurai is my favourite movie of all time. I absolutely love the score by Hans Zimmer. I've lost track of how many times I've listened to it over the years.
Thank you for making a relaxing suite for this movie! I loved the original suite you made and it actually inspired me to watch the movie for the first time. The music is just so powerful and elevates the film to another level. Great stuff!
This is incredible, you've done it again! Yes, Hans Zimmer gets 99.5% of the credit for composing music of such beauty and power, but you've stitched together his cuts into a masterpiece where each cut coheres nicely with the others and the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
I’d just like to say with composers you often find each film composition to sound a bit similar, especially with Zimmer but I realized rather quickly this has to be his most unique soundtrack because it sounds like nothing else he’s done. But I think it’s in part to him going to Japan and learning their ways of music.
