I'm surprised they didn't use blackened aperture blades even on the later Soviet models. I have a 44M-7 from 1994 that does have blackened blades so I expected them to use those for all models during the last days.

Yeah, it doesn't really make any sense as to why they cheaped out on some.

Do you know if they reused the Helios 44M4 body or do they just look very similar?

It looks identical to my KMZ 44M-4 so yeah, looks like they've used the same body.

Hey! Do you think it's worth it to buy one of these lenses? especially that I'm using a Canon EOS M camera and I still have to buy an adapter for it. M42 to EOSM.

I would personally buy the 50mm Zenitar-M 1.7 instead of this one, but yes! Definitely worth it. You'll get a really fun lens to play with that has great image character, at a low price. They'll work well on an EOS M, although will be cropped in a bit since the EOS M is a crop sensor.

@@SovietLensReviews thank you sm for responding! Sadly only the f1.9 is available to purchase:( also it's gonna cost me around 20$ , also the Jupiter 200mm, the yashinon f1.9 and the Helios 44-7 are available at 12-20$ too!

@@SovietLensReviews Здравствуйте, спасибо за такой замечательный обзор! Особенно благодарю за тест резкости и таблицу. Как и предполагал практически любой объектив имеет свой максимум оптических характеристик при f8, далее начинается дифракция. По поводу варианта Зенитар 1.7 Это совсем другой объектив, оптическая схема к него другая, мультипросветления у него нету. Но говорят что этот объектив лучше чем Зенитар 1,9.
