Thinking about my high school experience now, ten years later, I remember that, although I wasn't the most unpopular kid in the school, I was stressed all the time thinking about what other people think about me. I dabbled in suicidal thoughts and managed to get out of that on my own, and so on. In conclusion, I would most definitely not do it all over again. And, as Alex said, life does keep getting better after graduation.

I love that you draw attention to teenage media that portrays high school as the be-all-end-all. For me, I couldn't wait to leave high school and carve my own path. Adulthood has been 1000x more exciting and I agree, all of the silly drama and teenage woes like dating becoming INFINITELY easier as an adult. You couldn't pay me to go back to high school. Don't worry kids, adulthood is awesome if you make it that way.

I was angry because they didn't take in account the poor guy's feelings. The way the opening narration worded the summer after high-school made me laugh so hard. But seriously, so much aimed at teens is created by people who peaked in high-school. And don't get me wrong, everyone's "best years" where they really hit their stride come at different times and if yours do happen to be in high-school that's ok, but for most people those years come later in life. Most people who graduate high-school still have their best years ahead of them. So we need more teen content made by people who didn't peak in high-school so that teens don't hear the implication that "this is as good as it ever gets" and "its all downhill after high-school" during which, for most of them, is just a "meh" time in their life, and (more importantly) what for some of them will turn out to have been the worst time of their lives. We need more teen stuff that says high-school is just a time and whether its the worst, best, or most indifferent time of your life isn't set in stone.

I always felt kinda bad for Griffin when Phoebe yelled at him for keeping that a secret because like… his dad is cheating on his mom? Like sucks for Phoebe’s mom to learn she’s the other woman, but Griffin’s entire family might fall apart, like I think 5 days just trying to process that is understandable.
