When I was looking for a new tail light for my CB650R It seemed these were largely my only two options. I avoided the one you originally went with for the same reason you replaced it, it just didn't look bright enough. I ended up going with this new one before watching this video. Good to see there's some good videos covering this for anyone who might have the same issue!

These integrated signals are terrible. They are too close together and very hard to tell which way you're signalling when in another vehicle following from behind, especially when there's a bit of distance. In Australia there needs to be a minimum distance of separation between your turn signals, and is illegal to not have that minimum gap. I'm guessing it would be the same where you're from. To me the cool looks of the integrated signals aren't worth potentially getting rear ended. Food for thought.

I have the same tail light on my cb650r and wired the massive resistors in line with the signal lights. The signal lights work fine but are kinda wonky tbh. When you click them on, they'll blink at random speeds sometimes fast for like 3 blinks then will slow down to a regular blink patten, then speed up again. Also my hazards don't work anymore. Does your still do?
