Thanks for your review, Chris. I've never read the novel either, but I love both Jennifer Garner and Angourie Rice, so I might just give it a watch for their performances alone, seeing how they elevate a majority of the story. It's a shame how the main mystery peters out towards the end, especially after such a strong start.

I've been watching and find it very easy to fall asleep and somewhat boring at times. There's too much of flashbacks and conversations that really go nowhere. I understand that they're building up for the finale... But in reality the full story could been told in 10 minutes as it's got an easy to read outcome.

The finale was a let down not much going on should have concluded in 6 episodes instead and yes the book is much better 😁

It’s supposed to be mystery/suspense but it lacks intrigue.

This is a great review! I ended up dropping the show, I lost interest. The story is very cliché and so many plotlines that could have been interesting lead to nothing.

Watched the entire show... came out thinking ... what and why was this show even made?

I feel the same. I was bored throughout and it ended in such a strange anticlimactic manner. Should have given this one a miss.

Yes it's all very anticlimactic spoiler.... Because in the last 2 episodes you realize no one actually wants to harm either Hannah or Bailey. They don't even want their money. The antagonist and son wouldn't hurt a hair on either's head.

I also have to add this comment... Can someone please explain to me why it seems most movies, series and even commercials have African Americans always betrayed as the boss the sergeant the captain the executive? Not that I have a problem with it other than the fact there's just too much of it. And even normal amount based on our actual percentage of population would make more sense to me. I know some will probably take this as some kind of a racist woke thing... But I'm not trying to do that I hope you all do believe that... I'm just pointing out with what's staring me in the face every time I turn on and watch something theses days.

Because for the longest time, people of color almost only had bad roles. Savage Indians, Black slaves, Black criminals, Mexican drug dealers, Arab terrorists. I'm sure you could name a few others. This means that if you were an actor of color, this would be the majority of your resume. Year after year, after year. Decade after decade after decade after decade. You may have heard the phrase "representation matters." Think of how this has impacted the subconscious of the audiences. I mean in the minds of White audiences and non-White audiences, and even beyond American borders since American movies and series are played more or less around the planet. What works in Hollywood gets imitated by producers abroad, too. So say you're a Black Italian actor, you, too, may only spend your career playing Gangster #12. Is that fair? So now, when you see characters in positions of power (or other positive angle), played by actors of color, where you might not expect them, think of them as opening doors for other actors/ other parts. In the US, and abroad. At least that's how I see it.

@@everythingiseverything9920 Sorry but that's not TRUTH... Hollywood wasn't doing it like you say... I didn't see the African Americans in every movie as the bad guy... I think you have to make movies as society true reality... In other words that's the hard truth a majority of African Americans emulate and celebrate tough guy thugs attitude... African Americans constantly use negative connotations about themselves for example using the n-word so freely amongst each other, to me is degrading to the African American community ergo puts them into a negative connotation. Ever since the explosion of rap music, It has become the norm to emulate and celebrate crime with the thug prison rules being an acceptable extremely cool way of living. So when Hollywood is depicting this lifestyle CHOSEN and EMBRACED by the African American community... What does the African American community do? They cry fowl, unfair, racist, victimizing! If the African American community wants to see this type of emulation end in Hollywood then maybe the TRUE REALITY is the African American community needs to change it's MORAL VALUES first.

Why does that bother you ?
@Iloveflowers2024
@Iloveflowers2024 Год назад
Too much? Lol. Come on, there are hundreds and hundreds of TV shows and film. it's still not a high percentage. I don't know the statistics but It's not "always" or "most". I watch a hell of a lot of TV and Film every day and I just haven't seen this "too much" that you talk of. But for the record isn't it about time to see more black people or any person of color portrayed in an accurate light and in positions of leadership anyway? If you actually go out in the real world you would see people of color in these positions everyday across the USA and the world but for a really long time they have not been represented like that in tv or Film. Think of all the decades of TV and Film where there were no black people cast at all or if they were cast, they were cast as servants, maids, butlers, positions of servitude etc. For you to even bring this topic up, then I think it must be bothering you for some reason. And I believe your "observation" is not accurate anyway. Watch fifty movies made in the past 5 years. Count how many people of color you see in a leadership position. Watch 50 TV shows and do the same. I am pretty sure the percentage of Caucasian characters in positions of leadership will still be higher than those of people of color.
