Why is this the last vid? Can you not make more nonsense cards? I need MOAR! Just ask the new AI thingy to make MTG cards like the nonsense cards from before.. You can indeed do that..
@@Purumal1337 We had already decided to stop because everyone was telling us the joke had gotten old and the views on the AI videos were plummeting. We made an exception for Remy :) and it was great fun! But in general I think the audience for this kind of content is no longer there
i much prefered the Urza's AI videos over these ones because at least Urza's AI 90% of the time made FUNCTIONAL magic cards, i understand not wanting to do these specific AI generated cards anymore, but PLEASE make the Urza's AI generated cards it's own series, those ones i think are far more what people want rather then whatever AI it is you use for these ones.
@@CardmarketMagic I like the simetrical effect that acellerates the gamebut each gisela is self replicating once there is more than 2 but also countered by gisela being a 3/3. It would be interesting ina life gain deck where you just sustain the constant drain that happens each turn. the fact that you can also pay to turn her off by bouncing it is fun too.
Also: Gisela Boorish is essentially the perfect mythic rare. Aaron Forsythe described mythic rares as "jaw-dropping to some part of the audience" when they were introduced in 2009. My jaw certainly dropped.
I mean you could put her with a bunch of card draw effects, then get as many Giselas as you can without dieing yourself, thenpass turn and watch the enemy burn out.
@@EskChan19 if you get soul's attendant or soul warden out, you gain life whenever a creature (including tokens) enters the battlefield, basically preventing the drawback. She would be an insane combo piece with windfall and wheels
Gisela Boorish really has great design actually. She's a removal target in commander, because she's a genuine existential threat. In a four-player game, if you have a way to give her evasion, by the time your next turn comes around you can end everyone.
Yeah plus you slot it in an Orzhov deck with some life gain and some of those "target pllayer Draws X cards and Loses X life" cards and it becomes a win con even without combat. Maybe also throw in Sheoldred the Apocalypse. This actually sounds like a really fun deck.
It would be extremely OP. You could just build a deck around drawing a lot of cards until you're near death, then pass the turn and your opponent takes double that basically. It would even combine with the Tentacle Simian in this episode too, "Target player draws two cards", make your opponent draw two cards to double the Gisela's and hurt him, then pass turn to make him draw again and finish him off. In a well build deck this could be a legit 2 turn kill.
During the 2 months break I took to travel, everyone I met at game stores told me the joke was getting old. And these videos take an absurd amount of time to create. I did this one as an exception because Remy is a fan of the AI cards videos but it will likely be the last time we laugh at poorly made magic cards 🙃 I'll try my best to come up with other things to keep you all entertained
@@CardmarketMagic I think it's the kind of content that works better with casual players (like me, it's not a critic) than with the more dedicated players. But it could be any kind of "joke" deck / unique card design and it would work imo. Maybe some kind of card design challenge? Like, "what card do you think the game needs?"
@@Ezullof actually! I don't know if I understood properly, but if you are suggesting that people submit their own cards and we play them, I think that's an absolutely phenomenal idea 💡:D
I don't know how to feel about this. On one way, the game was as entertaining as ever. On the other hand, AI generated Magic was some of the best, if not the best, Magic content I've seen on youtube. I secretly hope it won't be the last, but if it was, it was a good run.
I've been told by many people that the joke is getting old, and you can see it in the views dwindling on these. Given that they take so much time to create, it's time to retire them. But who knows, maybe in a few years if there is a new hot AI :)
@@CardmarketMagic sadly I see your point, it really can be seen in the views. I mean maybe in the future there will be a demand for just silly custom magic cards gameplay, something like un-set but created by ordinary people, not AI generated. But I guess only future will tell us, until then I'll just watch other great stuff you and the team release:)
@@CardmarketMagic As a non-magic player (or viewer) who stumbled upon this series on accident, I've gotta say I find these videos hilarious. No need to know the game in advance, since not even the players here know what's going on :P
That's disappointing that this is the last of the AI generated cards. This series was easily my favorite since the nonsensical card text and trying to interpret what you should do is always good for a laugh. Please reconsider bringing this back in the future!
add a 3rd busted card to the pile: Geist of the simian tentacle. This should just be a 4 of in almost every deck, no? It's effectively a 0 mana artifact that says etb make 2 2/2s, and in the unlikely scenario you don't want 0 mana 4 power, you can just sac them for 2 cards, it's 0 mana draw 2 with no color restriction.
I like to think Gisela Boris effect is like supposed to represent her inviting party guests as she learns more of the things at the party from you drawing a card
Teferi, Time and The steam hunt made me burst out in laughter in the office. Teferi being dodge truck legendary planeswalker - vehicle in green is absolutely hilarious
Assuming that players control themselves, you could argue that Reversal Snake has hexproof from your opponent! Also, I'm afraid that Teferi, Time would immediately die as state based action, being a planeswalker with 0 loyalty :( I love Gizela Boorish though! The quality of the design in this episode improved a lot!
surprisingly, Teferi, Time would not be put into the graveyard for having 0 loyalty as crew states that "This permanent becomes an artifact creature until end of turn." Meaning it is no longer a planeswalker for the turn. However, It's loyalty abilities, if it had any, could still be activated.
@@yes.thatjanedoe But just having the crew ability doesn't make it a non-pw artifact, it becomes one only after activation. As soon as it enters the battlefields the sba are checked, and he's put into the graveyard before you have a chance to pay the crew cost.
Yeah, we missed a few game actions and state-based effects 😅 but we are playing these cards for the first time and they make no sense, so it's to be expected.
I think you should have had all the Giselas -- it said "create", not "creates", so the copy is created by Gisela's controller, not the player who triggered the effect.
dont end this series. we love this series. upvote this comment if you agree. also remy guest starring was perfect he needs to be on this channel more often
I am really happy you guys are uploading again, and some great videos this week! Also Remy is hilarious, I am happy you guys invited him over! Keep up the great work!
The joke absolutely does NOT get old lmfao it is worth the effort XD This is ALWAYS hilarious, the fun refreshing part is having on new guests! And everyone loves Remy!
I actually feel like Gisela Boorish is the perfect card, you just have to use it at literally the perfect moment to kill everyone else. Maybe you make 100 of her and pass turn without drawing, everyone else dies on their draw step?
This has beaten every humor show i have ever watched all my life, never laughed so hard with every card, every text and every confused interation. PLEASE DO MORE!
The AI videos were actually what made me notice the channel. So thank you very much, it was fun while it lasted and we all appreciate the effort. Though if you ever do plan to ever have the AI make a comeback - maybe just do it once a year every aprils fools day and give it a little twist. For example, a 4player commander game, where each Player gets an AI generated commander and they have to build a "thematic" deck around it with legal cards.
16:55 I don't think you can activate that tap ability in response to another player activating the tap ability, since the tap is part of the cost. It would already be tapped by the time you get priority.
That black card gives the vibe of that unhinged card that says "exile target creature, then remove it from the removed from the game zone and put it into the absolutely-removed-from-the-f***ing-game-forever zone
I think you didn't give chatgpt enough of a shot. I've had a lot of fun asking it to "make a magic card". Since it knows more than magic cards, it can keep a lot of flavor as you get creative into making cards from things that magic doesn't capture yet.
Oh the whole chat GPT thing was just a gag. It actually did give me fireball at my first attempt, but then it went off to create some really great cards :) but it is not as funny when the cards are good so I chose to use the old AI instead
Gisela Boorish is actually an interesting concept that feels like a play on the effects of infinite reflection going haywire. Albeit she needs a limiter to stop her from taking over the game completely.
I love all of these AI card matches! The weirdness seemed to grow exponentially with each game you played on this channel. I will miss them a lot and hope they will come back some day!
I like how they made a pact to slam the Gisela Boorishes into each other rather than use the return effect to fizzle the tokens. Like, that could honestly be a card to build around in real play, just start a plague that taxes player mana if they want to control it, and build lifegain or something to counteract it.
I found this channel because of the AI generated series. As a former casual player myself this series actually got me back and interested in MTG. I think those that thought the AI series was getting a little "boorish" are just the card purists. This video is so properly tailored to the wider range of MTG enthusiasts. You must make another in the future!
The main issue is actually that the AI are simply too good now. They make cards that are just like normal magic cards. And the AI we were using for these videos us incredibly tedious and time consuming. It mostly just makes unreadable cards. So to make these videos, I have to make someone parce through thousands of nonsense cards to pick out about 60 that are legible and then we have to make them
Sad this is the last. The hilarious AI card videos are my favorites on the channel! Thanks Remy for being a fan and bringing us one last hoorah! I love that a real card (mindslaver) exists that almost makes the Rabbit executioner's ability relevant!😆
I found the rest of the series from this video and I had to stop to catch my breath constantly while watching because of how hard I was laughing. I really hope these come back some day.
Thank you very much for the fun times with the AI generated goofery. I have a suggestion for you folks to experiment with as a replacement for AI generated cards: the card randomizer! You take the effects of one existing MTG card and randomly assign it to a different MTG card, for example, you take a creature's mana cost, creature type, effect text and stats and give it to other creatures, same applies to instants, sorceries, enchantments, planeswalkers, so on. This way the game is actually playable and we may end up seeing some interesting combinations. I think it would be especially interesting if this was done with a mix of bad and good cards, maybe some of the bad ones will be accidentally fixed, the good ones will probably be ruined, but maybe they can get even crazier!
This does sound very fun! 😃 but one of the reasons we are stopping the series is because we love playing with actual magic cards, and if we were to make one single exception to that, we'd rather play with user submitted ones
Discovering this series recently was definitely the hardest i've laughed in some time. But I'll trust y'all to interpret the feedback and stats. My vote is to.. keep us surprised. I truly love these.
My favorite bit with these is the work that has been done behind the scenes. Like someone had to look at Gisela Boris and go yeah we might need 50 tokens of this.
Don’t stop the series I subbed for this content Keep it coming Keep the guests coming on and giggling It don’t matter if you have haters in real life most of us are in arena anyways
It's also mostly because the people that watch these don't watch any of our other videos about real magic cards 😅 we're an MTG channel so we'll focus on that for now :)
I would definitely rewatch this if I were you (Cardmarket), there's a ton of gameplay errors; attacking with summoning sick Giselas, activating an ability in respose to that ability being activated, forgetting that Hired Surgehacker had double strike (also multiple instances of double strike can occur in normal MTG and it does nothing), and forgetting the Surgehacker put a counter on each creature on ETB.
I do re-watch these, multiple times 😅 I experience all of the videos once when I am in them, once when I edit them, then again when I add music and again when I add the animations. There's no real solutions, we can't fly Remy back to germany for some missplays in a gag video 💁♂️
There’s a card that’s a little similar to Gisela Boorish in Yugioh called Dark Snake Syndrome. Each turn, an alternating player takes an amount of damage which starts off small and grows exponentially 2x per turn. Due to its slow speed and reciprocal nature, it’s never been any good though.
Thanks for sharing that! We love Comparing both games :D and yeah, from what we've gathered, YGO is much faster than MTG, so cards that take multiple turns to get going don't quite have the same Oompf as they do here
@@CardmarketMagic That’s true. This gives me an idea. If you guys make another “yugioh player tries to assess magic cards” video, you could try showing them a saga without read ahead.
A note on the interaction between Need Dust's tap ability and Teferi's crew ability: since tapping is the cost for both abilities, it not possible to activate one in response to the other in this instance. Had both players understood this, the ideal play for remy would have been to crew during his upkeep at the end there. That being said...Teferi is a planeswalker with no loyalty counters... Anyway, this was a fun watch.
5;58 Tragically, you forgot to put a +1/+1 counter on each creature earlier. I was wondering if you'd remembered or not, but apparently not. 7:40 Technically, your opponent controls themself, therefore you could target your opponent to have it be Hexproof from them, lol. 12:58 I guess he's unwilling to risk his 1/2 (Which makes the opponent discard their hand if blocked.) taking damage? 14:56 To its owner's GRAVEYARD. (Not that it matters.) 15:51 Lol, the art. 16:20 I mean, couldn't it be argued that the life total would have to have been at 1 at some point prior to be able to be RETURNED to 1? 17:20 I wish I remembered how Crew works so as to know how a 3/3 took out 7 Life in one swing. Anyway, once again, fun video! I'll miss this series! Thanks for uploading! Shame these take so much time & effort to make & apparently fell off in popularity. Farewell!
Remy forgot to put on a +1/+1 counter on each creature he controls from the hired surgehacker machine! And attacked with Gisela's that had summoning sickness.
pretty sure the gisella's had summoning sickness at 9:37 edit: also at 17:01 tapping the "need dust" is a cost meaning its tapped before a player had s chance to respond
The Bolting Executioner's picture is the best thing ever! Bunbun with a tiny axe?! The only card you need to show people to get them into Magic: The Gathering!
Firstly I think having double strike twice is like having it from two sources, so it works as normal. Having a land with trample ready for those effects which animate land is kinda cool.
Love the video, though I really liked when you sent thematic prompts to Urza to generate the cards. I think the 2 players should make a prompt list and have their decks made by someone else so they get surprised by whatever was generated in the end.
They are ni longer getting the required amount of views for me to take so much time out of programmer's days 😅 if people watched them as much as they did before, we'd still do it, but as you can see on the views on this video, for example, the audience is telling us to stop :)
With the tapping at the end the result came out as it optimally should have, but the way that things were talked about Carl should have had another turn since remit tries to leave the precombat main, Carl says he is going to use the ability to name a goblin which would tap the need dust, meaning that remmy wouldn’t be able to crew the teferi, time. However before that remmy would have priority, so the optimal play would have been to crew teferi, time before trying to leave main and paying priority.
Yes probably, but what do you expect? 😅 we are playing with these for the first time and they make no sense! You'll have to forgive us some missplays :)
Actually, you played hired surgehacker machine with X=1, so hired surgehacker machine says prevent 1 life, which I think can best be interpreted as “prevent an ability that would specifically cause your life to become 1”, like Octorunner Grip Guardian’s effect
