I actually really liked this one. It helped pull me out of an almost month long reading slump with its absolute insanity haha. I am also someone who actually prefers when I can see the plot twists coming in thrillers because they tend to make more sense to me. It should be said that I'm also not a huge thriller fan, only really picking them up when I need a quick read. So this one did the trick for me! That being said, I also completely understand why some people won't like it. At about 75% through I felt like the story was going on a bit too long. I think it could have been better 100 pages shorter - even if that meant it didn't even hit 250 pages.
Yep, SUPER twisty!! You are really right about sh*t hitting the fan quickly on this one...I was like whoa!! 🫨 The only plot point I kept going back and forth on was whether or not Deek was really going to end up being involved or not. I mean, the author left breadcrumbs through the WHOLE book, so I thought maybe the real twist was going to be that he really wasn't involved, and they just have a nice cup of ginger tea together and count their blessings at the end...but not. I did like her phone call to her husband, though. I'm such a sap for a happy ending. 😂 Love your BOTM spoiler talks so freakin' much!!!
Yeah, that’s a great point. The author could have been hinting at Deek’s involvement to psych us out when he wasn’t involved. I’m not sure if having him not be involved would have been better than him being the mastermind… maybe. 🤔 I’m the same way. I haven't read that many thrillers and guessed pretty early on the players that were involved. As each twist came, I began to get reader's fatigue. Holy cow, how many can possibly be acceptable in a book. I put the book down, finished, at THE END. Something in me said to make sure. Wow! Twists until the very end. I'm going to have to sit with this awhile to decide how I feel about this. Loved your take! Elizabeth
I was about half way through this awesome book on RU-vid, and …POOF! IT’s disappeared 😳 This has happened a couple of times and they occasionally reappear. Can’t wait to finish it!
The book drove me insane! Wanted to DNF within the last 30 or so pages. So many unnecessary twists and so cringey. Love the concept, though. I do want to try another novel by the author.
I really enjoyed this book, I thought is was a lot of fun! The dark humor was on point, I just loved it. You’re right though, I wasn’t surprised by any of the twists. Lol Great video, I love these BOTM poll picks and reviews! ❤
