I'm so sorry for your Families' loss Capt Dave . Is there a more wonderfull gift than to be surrounded by family and to have enjoyed a full, beautiful life? You all gave her that gift. She knew it was time to join those waiting for her in Heaven. And Praise be to all of you for your strength in being there for her as that moment is not easy for anyone. Sounds to me, both your Mom and yourself were pretty lucky to have had eachother. Dont let her one moment in passing, overshadow all those years of laughter, memories and trials you've shared. I’m so sorry for your loss. I also lost my mom a few months back. Being able to be by her side along with my brother and father was truly a blessing. My prayers are with you and your family.

Sorry for your loss Dave. I lost my grandfather right before the okeechobee trip a few weeks ago. He's not suffering in the nursing home and looked at peace on his day of rest. Prayers to your family and be safe.

Dave, please accept my prayers and condolences. My dad passed away gently in his sleep 2 weeks ago after a very difficult 2 years of dementia, falling, crippling arthritis, etc. I was privileged to spend an hour with him the day before at the nursing home, with him fully lucid and seeming normal except for the physical limitations. Our last words were exchanging kisses and “I love you”, which he followed up with “be careful out there”... He struggled with his own past and when finally confronted with losing control of his own mind, he finally surrendered totally, also fully accepting the Redemptive work of Jesus Christ. When I asked him a couple months ago, “how’s your relationship with Jesus?”, he replied, “Well I’m sure okay with Him, if He’s okay with me...” In faith, I know He was! Peace my friend!
